Lots of cute & fun stuff.

I was walking around the Quarter looking for a place to pick up some gifts for friends and I wondered in here. This charming family-owned shop has a variety of unique items for the kitchen and entertaining needs. They also sell gourmet food, candies, cookbooks, t-shirts, and New Orleans themed gift items. Their kitschy kitchen towels made me laugh. I picked up a few gifts and some of their hand-made soft caramels, which were delicious! I came back a few days later to pick up some more gifts and those yummy caramels. Both times the sales associates delivered service with a smile.

Roux Royale is a cute little gift shop with fun trinkets and all things New Orleans. Very unique and definitely a spot for gifts to bring back home. Helpers on the floor and behind the register were kind. Live musicians outside were cute too. Great shopping option in the heart of NOLA.

Great gift store! They mainly offer New Orleans kitchen accessories (dishes, towels, cooking utensils, etc) but also have tshirts & other items. A lot of the goods have sassy, funny phrases on them. This shop was definitely made for anyone looking for a giggle.

One of the two spaces to shop in.

Such a great selection of New Orleans gifts. Take your time walking through and making your selections. They will ship!

My cellphone was busy recharging up from zero and I had no access to my NOLA itinerary when I just happened upon this corner shop - Roux Royale. By the time I entered through their doors, I had already popped into a number of their competitors. I knew I wanted to take home some Cafe du Monde beignet mixes to give away and had been checking out the prices. They are heavy, so I figured I would pick up a few $3.99 boxes over at one of the gifts shops closer to the hotel (Royal Praline Company). They were $4.06 at Cafe du Monde gift shop, so $3.99 seemed a good price. But then I found them for $3.49 at Roux Royale! Yup, I bought them here.

Fun store to shop for unique souvenirs in the French Quarter. From kitchen towels to serving dishes to socks to cookbooks, there are so many cute choices. Spent a while looking at all the sayings in the signs, towels and socks. If you are looking for a tasty treat to bring home, try their creamy pralines. So yummy. Only recommendation-either take the YELP checkin offer off the website or update the expiration date. My YELP checkin coupon from today expired in 2016.

We stopped in here while walking through the French Quarter. I was intrigued by their window displays and had to pop my head into the store to check them out. I soon found myself shopping with the BF in tow. It's a very cool, unique kitchen store, right up my alley. It's the perfect shop to find a gift for the foodie in your life, as well as others. You can find some of everything in here, from: food items, kitchen gadgets, dishes, party favors, wine stoppers, cook books and more. This store is also great for those of us who enjoy hosting. It is truly a gem of a store with nice employees and really interesting, unique, fun items.

Such a cute souvenir shop! They only have old-timey "past" cards, but they have the cutest home goods and kitchen tools/decorations. Since we went in December, they were quite festive with the Christmas theme. They have a variety of shot glasses, but some of the same glasses are actually cheaper across the street. The dishtowels and the magnets and decorative wood pieces have the funniest sayings. They also had a rack dedicated to napkins with wine puns. Very cutely curated and nicely designed souvenir shop!

    Amazing praline patty

I just love this place. I came here when I first visited New Orleans and got a few things for my kitchen. Now, I recently started working on the same block as Roux Royale and decided to stop in on my way home as I needed to kill some time. It always smells so yummy in the store-like pralines, butter, bananas, pecans. Basically it smells like a big southern dessert, and who doesn't love that smell? I also love their kitchen decor. Their inventory doesn't change too often (aside from their seasonal items) because it is a tourist store, but I think their decor is much nicer/classier than some of the other tourist stores in the area. The prices are fairly reasonable as well. When I first visited, I purchased a decorative towel for my kitchen. Today, I bought some pralines, praline honey butter and another decorative towel. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect from the pralines, but I'm on a quest to try all of the pralines in Nola so figured I'd try these out. These pralines were amazing-I got the chewy praline and the praline patty. As much as I love southern candy makers pralines, I actually preferred Roux Royale's pralines. As of now, they are some of the best I've tried (aside from southern candymakers which has more traditional pralines) If you are visiting New Orleans, definitely check out Roux Royale!

This was a much better store to buy souvenirs than a lot of the souvenir stores I saw in the French Quarter.

Dang! I've found the Elvis of bathtubs! It's a ruby cast iron claw foot and I want to drown myself…read morein it... or at least take a phenomenal bath in it. I had been searching for kitchen & bath showrooms (see previous review for another similar, not-so-similar kitchen & bath place, BC's) and I had lost all hope for the days of my youth when my parents would drag us to these places and we'd go running around jumping in bathtubs. Seems like I was going to have to just pick one out from a catalogue without seeing anything in real life. Sidenote: I don't jest when I say that a bathroom is possibly the most important room in the house. I've been obsessed since I could walk. I currently have a bathroom straight out of my nightmares (seriously, these night terrors have to stop). And now I'm in the process of putting together my first one and it's a *daunting* process. The Plumbing Warehouse makes this daunting process just a bit easier. They have red faucets! They have an array of tubs! They can help you put together the bathroom of your dreams! The showroom is in a bit of an upheaval and the sales lady, Emily apologized for this (though seriously, it wasn't that bad). She then proceeded to help us in a way that I most appreciate in a sales person. That is, she asked questions, was helpful, and was not overbearing. And she seemed to know just what I wanted (um, am I that obvious?) Keep in mind that if you want custom stuff, you can get it (tons of catalogues) but they do have some basics with a day or two turnaround. Naturally, whatever I'm interested in will take two weeks, but hey, when you have a historical house with all the permit nonsense you have to deal with, I think I'm looking at not getting this bathroom started for about two months. But that's besides the point. I'll be using this place for my tub (seriously, they have it all: acrylic, cast iron, copper and hundreds of choices they'll show you in a catalogue, including my Elvis tub) and sink (here's looking at you, violet resin vessel!)

Never use this company!…read more I contracted this company to install countertops in my home. They sent a crew that spoke no English. They did a terrible job. Huge gaps, terrible seams, crooked sinks. I complained. The company refused to cut new stone. They sent the same crew out again, with no translator. They attempted to make adjustments to the countertop in place. This created dust that filled my entire home. It did not fix the problems. They came back 3 times to make adjustments. Beyond the language barrier, the crew was very unprofessional. They took tools out of my garage and used them to complete work. Nothing was stolen but seriously you don't have your own drill? The company was terrible to deal with. We would call and no one would answer. We would go to the store and it would be closed during their posted business hours. We left messages and sent emails, and it would take days to get a response. The only thing they wanted to do was send out the crew who couldn't understand my complaints for adjustments. They acted like the work in the photos below was quality and that my wife and I had unreasonable expectations.
