Dang! I've found the Elvis of bathtubs! It's a ruby cast iron claw foot and I want to drown myself…read morein it... or at least take a phenomenal bath in it. I had been searching for kitchen & bath showrooms (see previous review for another similar, not-so-similar kitchen & bath place, BC's) and I had lost all hope for the days of my youth when my parents would drag us to these places and we'd go running around jumping in bathtubs. Seems like I was going to have to just pick one out from a catalogue without seeing anything in real life. Sidenote: I don't jest when I say that a bathroom is possibly the most important room in the house. I've been obsessed since I could walk. I currently have a bathroom straight out of my nightmares (seriously, these night terrors have to stop). And now I'm in the process of putting together my first one and it's a *daunting* process. The Plumbing Warehouse makes this daunting process just a bit easier. They have red faucets! They have an array of tubs! They can help you put together the bathroom of your dreams! The showroom is in a bit of an upheaval and the sales lady, Emily apologized for this (though seriously, it wasn't that bad). She then proceeded to help us in a way that I most appreciate in a sales person. That is, she asked questions, was helpful, and was not overbearing. And she seemed to know just what I wanted (um, am I that obvious?) Keep in mind that if you want custom stuff, you can get it (tons of catalogues) but they do have some basics with a day or two turnaround. Naturally, whatever I'm interested in will take two weeks, but hey, when you have a historical house with all the permit nonsense you have to deal with, I think I'm looking at not getting this bathroom started for about two months. But that's besides the point. I'll be using this place for my tub (seriously, they have it all: acrylic, cast iron, copper and hundreds of choices they'll show you in a catalogue, including my Elvis tub) and sink (here's looking at you, violet resin vessel!)

Never use this company!…read more I contracted this company to install countertops in my home. They sent a crew that spoke no English. They did a terrible job. Huge gaps, terrible seams, crooked sinks. I complained. The company refused to cut new stone. They sent the same crew out again, with no translator. They attempted to make adjustments to the countertop in place. This created dust that filled my entire home. It did not fix the problems. They came back 3 times to make adjustments. Beyond the language barrier, the crew was very unprofessional. They took tools out of my garage and used them to complete work. Nothing was stolen but seriously you don't have your own drill? The company was terrible to deal with. We would call and no one would answer. We would go to the store and it would be closed during their posted business hours. We left messages and sent emails, and it would take days to get a response. The only thing they wanted to do was send out the crew who couldn't understand my complaints for adjustments. They acted like the work in the photos below was quality and that my wife and I had unreasonable expectations.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about CC. From the moment I spoke with Chi, I knew we would be in good hands. She had Ms Linda measured our kitchen right next day, and we confirmed our 3d design in 4 days before ordering. They installed our entire kitchen in one week, and just 2 days project. Chi and her team's knowledge around everything needed to complete the work is phenomenal. The work took just 2 days. Everyone was a pleasure to work with and over-delivered on what we asked them to do. If you are considering redoing your kitchen with CC, you should. Just make sure that you call Chi.

I hired Pokorn to do demo and framing on an interior condo renovation project. It is fortunate that…read moreI kept the initial contracts small. Thankfully, I wasn't stuck with them for the whole project. I have experience in renovation and historical restoration, and am detail oriented, and had high hopes for a successful professional relationship. On the plus side, they were always responsive to my communications, and seemed to understand what needed to be done. On the minus side, I don't know where to begin. All of the work, except management, on our project was handled by sub-contactors, not direct employees of Pokorn. Adding that additional layer of management inflated the cost of the job significantly. Too many generals, not enough soldiers. Their subs are of varying quality. For example, one subcontractor framed for a new closet in a way that partially obstructed an adjacent door because of a measurement mistake on the architect's plans. The sub didn't think "Oh look. Something's not right. I should ask how to proceed". They just went ahead and built it, even though the drawn plans showed no obstruction, necessitating tearing out the mistake and rebuilding. They also put the subfloors down in the bathrooms before the plumbing drain work was done. The plans clearly showed the fixtures being relocated within the rooms. Something else to tear out. When they removed the subfloor I saw that the bathroom vent duct for the bathroom below had very obviously been crushed (stepped on at the joist), which is why the bathroom vent below had no air flow. If the subfloor hadn't needed to be torn out, this air flow problem could have been difficult to diagnose and expensive to fix later on. Somehow all the generals didn't notice the substandard work. All these blunders would be comical if they weren't so frustrating. Pokorn did correct their mistakes after I pointed them out and asked them to, which is the only reason they got 2 stars. I should not have to do this work: it's their responsibility. Read their contract carefully before signing. It is written in a way that keeps too much power in their hands. They are strict about expecting payment within 72 hours of their submitting an invoice, even if they've screwed up and not yet corrected the work being invoiced. If you're late in paying, they can immediately stop work and require an extra $500 to start up again. You can make the payment "under protest", but then have to trust that they will fix the issue. To their credit, they always did, but I was upset that I had to trust a company that was messing up left and right. Why should this even have to happen in the first place? As is pretty standard, they ask for periodic payments as work progresses. They are the sole determiners of when a phase is substantially completed, which is not unusual, but ask for payment at a point when other contactors I've worked with (and I) would have considered the phase only partially completed. These examples do not exhaust the deficiencies or problems experienced during the short time I employed Pokorn. Let the buyer beware.

Owner refused, as it wasn't worth their time to have an estimate sent to insurance to not be picked for the job. This was stated in an incredibly rude and condescending tone, as if my phone call alone cost him time and money. Definitely left a bad impression and I will not bother seeking them out for any other services for my home.
