Nice atmosphere and friendly service. The most expensive eggs you'll ever eat. Good location, just really expensive.

Waitress was nice, but salad I had was pre-made the day before and was like goo...plastic bowl and warm ranch dressing.

From the outside, the branding leans heavily into the Route 66 identity--logos are everywhere, setting the expectation for a nostalgic roadside dining experience. Stepping inside, however, the atmosphere takes a different direction. Rather than embracing classic Americana, the décor feels modern, highlighted by whimsical cow artwork adorned with flower crowns. It's charming in its own way, but not the vintage Route 66 ambiance I was expecting. One thing that deserves high praise is the cleanliness. The café is immaculate, from the dining room to the overall presentation, reflecting a team that clearly takes pride in maintaining the restaurant. The food, unfortunately, was less memorable. The oatmeal was overly thick and dry, lacking the creamy comfort you'd expect. Buttered toast carried an off flavor, suggesting the griddle or butter station could use a refresh. The signature pancake, dusted with a powdered sugar "66" logo, was visually appealing and easily the meal's most Instagram-worthy item, but it too was disappointingly dense. Where Cafe 66 truly shines is its service. Every staff member I encountered was warm, welcoming, and eager to help first-time visitors feel at home. Their hospitality left the strongest impression of the visit. In my opinion, Cafe 66 seems to be transitioning away from being a destination built on Route 66 nostalgia and toward becoming a dependable neighborhood café for the Clinton community. There's nothing wrong with that--in fact, it's probably the more sustainable business model. But travelers seeking an authentic trip back in time may leave feeling that the iconic branding promises more nostalgia than the dining experience ultimately delivers.

So. I hadn't tried The Shed…read more It has been open for a bit. Idk. I just thought... it looks okay. You know!? Sometimes fusion menu's don't translate to great food. Turns out... I liked it. A lot. Clean and bright inside. Cozy booths. Menu is kind of a typical go to menu with a bit of all cuisines. Chicken fried steak. Asian salad. Strawberry salad. Chicken chicken chicken salads! lol! Street tacos. Burgers. Fried apps. A little shrimp. I got the veggie burger. It was really nice. Shiny bun. The patty was crispy. The veggies were fresh and I didn't pick at them or pick them off. Not too much sauce. The French fries were delicious! They are long steak fries but seasoned well and crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. And Heinz ketchup! Fried mushrooms... you know? They are just frozen breaded mushrooms. But they were delicious. And the portion was huge. The fishbowl margarita was both yes! Tequila! And salty and sour. A place in El Reno that makes a great margarita where you can taste the tequila?! Win! My friend got the chicken street tacos. They were stuffed with meat. The chips were those great really thin chips and the salsa was decent. This was far better than I expected. And I will go back. Sometimes I just don't want to cook and a place that I can trust to satisfy me is appreciated. Please do not take the veggie burger off the menu. That with those great fries will be a nice staple for me to look forward to! Thank you. And great job. Service was great. Ian took care of us. Extra napkins and all!
