I don't know why it took my bestie so long to take me into this store when I'm in Lancaster…read morevisiting her because this store is the BOMB!! They're fully stocked with lots of alcohol products. I even found Blueberry Nutrl & I didn't even know they make that flavor so of course I grabbed a 4 pack & a 4 pack of Peach Nutrl. Price was about $10 per 4 cans which is what they go for back in Vegas (where I live) so I wasn't over paying for this. I also found my McGillicuddy's butterscotch nips & the big bottle. Usually these nips go for.99 a piece here they're $1.49 but if you buy 5 or 10 of them they will cost you 99 cents each. So I grabbed two 10 pack sleeves to take back to Vegas with me. I also grabbed some scratch tickets & only had a $2.00 winner....boo. I even asked the grumpy guy (no personality @ all & seemed like it was torture for him to be there) working the register to give me the winning tickets....lol Now Shari who was also behind the counter was a fun hoot. She was happy, laughing, friendly & enjoyed conversating with my bestie & I. I will definitely make sure my besties takes me back here when I'm visiting her & we need a booze run. Store is nicely organized and clean. They even have a "beer cooler."

We were grateful that we did not have to hunt around to find a deli to get good food to eat. Here we had excellent sandwiches Dean's Beans excellent coffee, and lots of choices of something to drink or snack on as well. This is completely ideal for this area for people who want to take lunch out on the trail, to the reservoir, or just want to pick up some fresh veggies or unique shopping items. I was not disappointed to find a well-fitting handmade mask with music notes on it. I also like how the store is organized, so it does not feel cluttered despite having lots of neat things to look at. They did receive five stars because they have several gluten-free options, which I am always super excited about at a small store.

In high school, we'd often stop there in the mornings to stock up on Jolt cola and other necessities. I have very fond memories of this litle store. I stopped in to pick up some booze on my way to my parent's house for a visit. I hadn't been in there in years and I was greeted by a bright, clean, modern-looking space. A major upgrade from the dingy decor of yesteryear. However, and maybe it's just because there's more space now, the store looked practically empty to me. There was only one or two of everything on the shelves which just made it look depressing. And, any store that calls itself a package store should have a decent booze selection, which sadly, this place did not. I wanted red zinfandel for me and blue curacao to make my mom "that magic blue drink you made me this summer" as she called it and neither were to be found. Sooooooo, 2 stars for the less than adequate selection of booze and an extra star for the upgrades to the store.

It's located at 1839 Lower Rd (Rte 32). Fun fact: Old Furnace was significant at the time of the American Revolution, as a location that manufactured cannon balls. The OFGS was reopened less than 6 months ago, has a license to sell beer and hard liquor with an impressive assortment of such for a small footprint, an assortment of delicious pastries ( I tried the carrot cake whoopee pie and a brownie, both outstanding), has excellent coffee and an assortment of sandwiches delivered daily around 10:30 AM. I met the new owners, Amber and Jeremy, truly nice people who are thrilled to bring the store back to life, and passionate about their venture. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well stocked the store was with food and sundries. It is no secret that I love seeing local businesses succeed. The coffee and pastries were an excellent value. I did not see prices on the beer and wine. The is plenty of parking and a couple of picnic table under an awning to eat at outside. Please take the time to stop by and sample what Old Furnace has to offer. You will be surprised and delighted by what you find. They will begin selling ice cream and sundaes soon.
