Happen to be nearby and needed spices you can only get in Louisiana. This Rouses is fairly quiet on a Saturday afternoon and they were doing a crawfish boil outside and cooking BBQ. This all smelled delicious. Inside was very clean and also stopped by the deli to pick up a cake. The bakery staff was very helpful and nice. In fact every employee in there was nice. Rouses is family owned and operated since 1960 according the large sign on the wall. This is my first time shopping here. I was headed for someplace else but decided to shop here since I was camping in Fairview Riverside State Park and it is only 2.8 miles down the road. The store was clean and well lit with stock being dressed by an employee. I found everything I was looking for except an iPhone charging cable. But for groceries, they met all my needs. I will have to agree with another reviewer. I was looking for vitamins which were in aisle six and the other drugs, i.e. pain relief etc, were in aisle nine. It seems like those two aisles should be side by side. I will say that if you cannot find a bottle of wine here you must be too picky, lol. They have quite a few aisles of wine to chose from. In fact more than I've seen in any other grocery store. Parking was a non issue in the large shared lot for all the businesses in this fairly large shopping center. The curb outside the main doors is ADA compliant. read more

I am from Louisiana and love Rouses, but my boyfriend and I had a bad experience. We got into like and had three items. There was still people checking out and the cashier already grabbed a bag, but we didn't need one as we could just carry the items. I politely told her that we don't need a bag, and she set it down. My boyfriend asked her how she was doing, and she gave him a look and did not answer. As she checked us out, I told her to have a good day, and she said "mhm". I don't know if our lack of needing a bag was that upsetting to her or if she was already having a bad day. Anyway, I thought this interaction was uncalled for and disrespectful. I hope Mary can learn better customer service, and I pray that she has happier days ahead. read more

Decided to purchase crawfish on Mothers Day, they had just been brought out, I ordered 4 lbs . Don't get me wrong, I love Rouses but the crawfish were dirty and some were mushy , which I think had been cooked day before and reheated with the other ones. I won't buy crawfish from there again . This branch - and the company as a whole -- are so disappointing. We try to avoid putting more money in the Walton's pockets, and it'd be great to support a Louisiana family-run company, but every time we're in this store, it feels like we're being ripped off. The produce is piss poor and way overpriced. The selection can't compete with Walmart. Fresh Market down the road is a far superior shopping experience. The biggest issue at this Rouses' is the insane number of times we've been overcharged. The strawberries will be posted at $3 per pound and we'll be charged $5 for half a pound. This happens so consistently, it's hard to believe it's accidental. read more

This review is based on a company technical support. I tried to use the app to pay using my card and it fails saying there is an address mismatch. I called my bank and verified what I entered is exactly what the bank has and it was. I went to call support only to realize that the company does not have a number listed. For the family or together this app handling all our credit cards. This is almost the test 2025 and everyone who has an app has a support number and not a form designed from the 1980s. This is not my regular Rouse's, but I was in the area so I gave it a try. This store is in an old Sav-A-Center so the layout is not typical Rouse's. That isn't a bad thing, but I like the layout of my store better. This store does live up to Rouse's standards, with a great wine/liquor selection, freshly prepared foods, and a great meat/seafood counter. I picked up one of their prepared muffulettas and it was very good. Outside were freshly boiled crawfish, garden furniture and BBQ grills, which were all for sale. Although not my favorite in the chain, this location is still a fine grocery store. read more

Way overpriced. Tomatoes are high. Lettuce is twice as high here as comparable grocery stores. Black Box wine is $1 higher than others. Fritos is $1.29 higher here. Breads here were expensive. $3 for hot dog buns? No way! They do have hot boiled crawfish this time of year. That's nice! Otherwise, if it's items you need and they are not on sale, then forget it. You are better off at Winn-Dixie or Walmart. read more

Its not the best Rouses, sorta small with semi-varity stuff. Its a bit disorganized. Been there quite a few times, still haven't figured out where the bread aisle is at - well, there was that one time I did stumble upon a small loaf of Bunny bread near the cold-cuts section. Personally (imo), the big Rouses on E. Causeway (near the Causeway Bridge) is best. read more

What a nice place to shop. The Manager, the staff and even the customers are always pleasant. It is hard to leave a review for a grocery store but when everything is in order and always meet you have a tendency to believe this is how it should be. Being a recent transplant from the south shore it is a pleasant experience to see a place that is well kept and staffed by people who take pride in their work. read more

"We can get one from the oven boxed up in 2-3 minutes" are the words that told me we were getting the freshest plain cinnamon King Cake we had ever had. Although it would be unfair to say it's the Best Bakery in the area, it is HANDS DOWN THE BEST GROCERY STORE BAKERY. King Cake isn't the only item they do well. There is a balloon Nazi named Roz, DO NOT bother ordering balloons at this location. She was beyond rude when I asked if she could blow up 2 balloon numbers I didn't purchase from her because they didn't have numbers. I told her I did want to purchase 8 regular balloons also and she just said, "No, there is a helium shortage, I won't do it." Well guess what, I took my numbers and my money to the Rouses on E Causeway and they were wonderful and said, "Oh yes, we know Roz, she isn't nice." read more

This is my first time going to this Rouse's. I usually go to my Rouse's on the E. Causeway approach. A lot of their products in the Hwy 22 store lots beat up and their veggie selection did not lot appealing. I will be shopping at my usual Causeway store for now on. I like to store and it's close to my house.. They usually have what I need. The reason it's only three stars is I'm sick of people bringing their dogs in a grocery store where I buy my food. I like dogs and I have owned many but handling a dog around food is a no no... There is a place for dogs but not where there is food involved.. read more

On vacation in Mandeville and we stopped at Rouses for some groceries. The store was nice, although laid out funny. They ran out of cooked crawfish, a bit of disappointment. The prices seemed high for some brands that were famiiliar to me. The wine selection was remarkable for a grocery store, but it took 5 minutes to find the bread. read more

This store has gone downhill. I've had cuts of meat that were bad on more than one occasion. Never any fresh bread, only the French bread is fresh. Terrible "high end" cheese selection (actual dirty disgusting packaging). Many items are spoiled. I live right around the corner and I'm not gonna be returning anytime soon. I just moved here from florida and this store is terrible! First off their produce is always rotten and moldy. It's like they are trying to save money by not throwing anything away. Then there's the grocery department.. Their frozen pizza/frozen meal section doesn't actually freeze anything. They are always partially thawed. Same with the milk, its never actually cold. The last thing is that the employees are very unfriendly that I actually avoid asking them any questions. Publix need to come here and show these guys what fresh really is. Until then I will be shopping at The Fresh Market down the street. read more
