This was not due to weather or unusual circumstances--it reflects a failure to properly manage carts and maintain a safe environment for customers. We immediately reported the incident to store management, who came outside and took photos. However, after that initial interaction, there was no follow-up from store management. When I contacted corporate, I was told the claim had been turned over to their insurance company, Broadspire, which is not a BBB Accredited Business and has a yelp rating of 1.1/5. We promptly complied with all requests, including obtaining and submitting three repair estimates within two weeks. Despite this, there was no communication for over a month. On March 18, we were told by Matilda that the claim had been reassigned, and on March 19, we contacted the new agent, Chantelle, only to be informed that the claim was denied due to a lack of video footage. This response is unacceptable as the responsibility lies with the store to maintain control of carts and ensure their parking lot is safe. Rouse's has chosen not to take accountability for what is clearly a preventable issue. The lack of follow-up, poor communication, and ultimate denial of the claim reflect a disregard for customer safety and service.

(Also to those complaining here about the baby figurine not being inside the cake anymore, they don't put it in anymore because companies were getting sued over people choking on the baby figurine when it was placed inside a piece of cake, so don't blame them for being safe.) It is a family owned and run business. Not much room for advancement. But, overall-it's a great place for a young person to work, learn and grow.

To get it, you first have to track down an employee, wait for them to unlock the case, and hand it over. But that's only the start of the hassle. You're not allowed to carry the item yourself while you continue shopping. Instead, the employee must take it straight to a register and hold it there for you. The problem is obvious: you're still browsing the store. Which register are they taking it to? And what happens if, when you're finally ready to check out, that particular register has the longest line in the entire store? It turns a simple errand into a frustrating, time-wasting ordeal.
