Every time we travel through a city or town outside of New Orleans, we always use Yelp to check out…read morethe local sno-ball scene. On 06-24-2018, we were in Thibodaux, LA and had just finished visiting the Bayou Country Children's Museum. We yelped local sno-ball stands in the area and were actually directed to another stand. However, while driving to our destination, we came across Brooke's Sno World and found out that it was not on Yelp. We busted a quick u-turn and decided to try it out, as the facility looked very new. We noticed on Yelp that there was a Brooke's Sno World in Houma, LA, and the owners (Errol & Tammy Malbrough) confirmed that this was a new location. The name was a little deceptive, as not only do they serve sno-balls and ice cream (to include sundaes, shakes, malts, blasts & dole whip, they also serve burgers, po-boys, sandwiches, nachos and hot dogs. However, we were here for a sno-balls and ice cream. The building was obviously new or newly renovated and the inside was impeccably clean; however, it's all about the product. My wife and son opted for ice cream. It should be noted that Brooke's proudly serves Schwan's premium ice cream. To be honest, I had never heard of this brand before, but after tasting my wife's hot fudge sundae and my son's vanilla cone, I can attest that this ice cream is deserving of the premium name. It is a pleasantly rich ice cream that almost has the a gelato like texture that I truly love. But I was here for a sno-ball, and I ALWAYS get a nectar or nectar cream. By always getting the same (my favorite) flavor, it's easy for me to compare to other offerings in the area. Kudos for Brooke's putting a LOT of syrup, as there's nothing worse that having a dry snow-ball once you reach the bottom of the cup. However, there was enough syrup for my son to take several sips and there was still lots of syrup once I reached the bottom. I cannot say that this nectar cream was my all-time favorite; however, I pretty much gave up sugar in January 2017, and occasional treats like this are overly sweet to me. So while I thought this nectar cream tasted a little artificial, it very well may have been my taste buds being shocked with a rare sugary treat. Regardless, although not my all-time favorite sno-ball, Brooke's has a super friendly staff, the owners were on-site and very open to questions and comments, the business was impeccably clean, there's something for everyone and they use tons of syrup. That my friends, makes me a fan!

The crushed Oreo bits and the white chocolate chips added that extra crunch and I truly couldn't get enough. They also topped it off with whipped cream and pocky sticks! Another one of us got the cotton candy flavor which was not your typical basic cotton candy taste, it was so much more! They sprinkled pop rocks on it, put a rainbow belt, it was to die for! A kid (or adults) dream this one! My fiancé got the red velvet icee cream in a cone which was so delicious he scarfed it down before I was able to snap a photo. Lastly we got 2 boxes of the macarons and they were equally to die for! So many great flavor choices. The decor was also very comfy and cute! I actually asked where it was from bc I want to buy some myself haha so chic! The employees were also a huge delight! Great service! Can't wait to go back soon!

There was a few groups ahead of us & 3 employees. Once they started getting the first groups orders rolling I noticed a lady about my age making some questioning faces while they were working on orders. Once the first order was done I asked her how it was & she replied it would've been better if they hadn't picked up for the night. Note: they "close" at 9. She was when they walked in and started ordering the employees were hissy & grumbling comments since they had to actually do their job. I walked over to help look over the menu w/one of the kids & an employee working on a order was complaining about having to work & bitching about the customers. Stating "she didn't care if they heard" meanwhile making the ugliest rolled ice cream I've ever seen & not properly mixing ingredients. I had a group of 5, myself & 4 ice cream loving teenagers who, after hearing her bitch, left! I can spend my money elsewhere rather than spend it at an unappreciative business. You need to fix your mouthy employees or fix your hours. And tell the little cashier hope she had a great night since she yelled it on our way out‍

The prices are reasonable and each item is perfect for a snack after a day basking seaside. Be prepared to agonize over the flavor options for the snow cones. They've got all the typical "grape, strawberry, orange..." but then there are things like "Frog in a Blender," "Oil Slick" and several other what-the-heck-could-that-be??? choices. About four dozen flavor options in all! Reminder: These are not "Snow Cones!" Hawaii has Shave Ice; Grand Isle has Sno Balls. The texture of the ice grains is unique; it's "grainy" but not in a way that's off-putting. And it really holds the flavor juice. Pro Tip: Get a "Stuffed" Sno Ball. That's a Sno Ball, but with a wad of vanilla ice cream in the middle. I recommend the "Red Velvet Cake" Stuffed Sno Ball; you won't be disappointed. Highly Recommended!
