Cheap ramen as expensive play claw game prizes.

PUNKED?! Sadly going to spend our fun money elsewhere. Today we went and more than half of the crane game prizes were replaced with things that could be bought from a DOLLAR STORE - sponges, off brand sandwich bags, baby wipes, tissue box, cheap ramen, Gatorade, mini pretzels, etc. WTH? Who is going to pay $5 plus to win one $1 Ramen I could but a block over? It's beyond me how they thought this would be a good move. My family and I came here once a month and spent a lot of money on the games. The food was overpriced and ick.

Imagine being isolated for 9 weeks in Great Lakes, IL w only your own thoughts and NO phone access to the outside world, where you were shaped and disciplined... and after those 9 weeks you then emerge into Round 1 at Gurnee Mills, a flashing, beeping wonderland where claw machines whisper, "You could win that plushie... or lose your dignity trying." It's a mini Vegas for kids and parents who've given up on budgeting. For $55, you get a game card and a reusable Jujutsu Kaisen cup, bc hydration is important when you're sweating over claw machines!! My kids won a few cool prizes from here!! Btw, there's also a bowling alley (which we didn't have time to check out). If you're ready to trade your post-isolation sanity for flashing lights, anime merch, and the sweet sound of arcade victory (or defeat), Round 1 is your spiritual awakening!!! Splurge a little, you deserve it!!!

Round1 Bowling & Arcade is a really fun experience. It's brand new, refreshed and remodeled and took over part of the old Sears Grand. This is like a Dave & Busters/Gameworks with a focus on Japanese games/prizes. There's a ton to do for people of all ages - there is a quick service restaurant inside, arcade games, video games and bowling lanes. I personally really liked the mini claw machines with small prizes inside - they're actually winnable which is surprising for this game lol. The prices are comparable to your average Dave & Busters location. It's definitely worth a visit, especially since it's brand new.

New, big with a lot of arcades. We were able to try bowling out too and it was great as well.

Poor management, terrible customer service. We came in today, 7 of us to play some games. The bar was closed because apparently they forgot to renew their liquor license. The security was harassing us about our water bottles. The ping pong area did not have a table or sufficient seating to accommodate people renting them. We moved a small table from 10 feet away, the adjacent billiards area and the manager along with five guys came to get the table back. He literally interrupted our game, and said he needs the table back. When tried to reason with him, pointing out that there are 7 of us and we rented both ping pong tables, we bought food and have nowhere to sit or put our stuff, the billiards didn't have anyone to use this table, he didn't care. His response was "this is how my company wants to run things". I mean we are paying customers. Has he not heard of customer service? This is bad customer service, I let him know (in case he didn't know). Seriously, who does that?? Coming in, interrupting our fun game (while our rental time is ticking) and getting the table and chairs from under us?? This is not just bad customer service, this is bad manners. Left very bad impression of this whole experiences I don't think we'd be coming back. Would not recommend this place.

Great place to spend a day. There's arcade machines, claw machines, bowling and you can grab food and drinks.

My family and I have been coming to Great Wolf Lodge for a few years.. this would be our fifth or…read moreso in the past two years. The location is very easy to find. One thing new is the parking gate that blocks cars from entering. This was our first time seeing it and it got us confused for a little bit. My wife drove this time, and she thought we had entered the wrong entrance or an employee entrance. We were, however, in the correct location. We arrived around 2pm, which was a few hours prior to check in time. The loading aisles were full of cars and there was a lot of people checking in. There were a few mobile check in kiosks... but there were also some actual staff members whom you also had to check in for other things like getting a parking pass. This was very confusing and annoying. However, it was a little more efficient verses having to wait in line. The kiosks printed our wrist bands. We were able to verify which would have access to the rooms and which would have access to pay from the wrist band. That was a very convent to have... however, we made the mistake of putting in on our right hand. This made leaving the parking lot harder. However, it made opening some of the room doors harder... I don't know which is the correct method because some were easy on the right hand.. .but others were difficult. My room was not ready when I finally checked in. So we went to the arcade. There were plenty of machines which a huge variety of games to pick from. Also, there was a burger joint nearby so we ate there while we waiting for our rooms to be ready. During that meal, I got a text that my room was having issues so to visit them at the front desk. Keep in mind they do a great job of communicating through text messages. All my messages were responded in an adequate amount of time. Once my room was ready... it was big. We got an extended room which a separate living space with a barn style door. It allowed our daughter to sleep while we were able to not disturb her. And when we went to bed too...we could open that barn door. Keep in mind, we brought out own inflatable bed for her. Only downside is that this configuration only has 2 queen beds instead of a king. However, I did enjoy having my own bed again. The room was clean, but was very old. There were a lot of slightly damaged equipment and it felt a little musty and old feeling. There were a good amount of outlets around the bed but some of them were so old that either plugs weren't able to hold in place or your devices were not charging fast enough. The water park itself was very nice. It was heated with a heated water. This was appreciated since the outdoor temps were 0 degrees or colder. However, we could not tell while in the water park. There was a nice section for little babies and toddlers. And they had a separate giant splash pad area for older kids to run around and up/down. We loved the lazy river. Overall, despite some comments of how bad this place is. In reality... look at the price, and I am not sure why people are expecting 5 star resort feeling. It fit the bill and we had a great time. Our room was old but it was clean. We would be back in the future.

Lake County Raceway - 155' American Raceways King Track

Mid-America Raceway is one of the last surviving electric model car (slot) raceways open to the…read morepublic. There were thousands of 'commercial' slot car tracks in the USA in the late 1960s and 1970's; there were a couple of dozen racing centers in the greater Chicago area alone. A lot of things caused the slot racing centers to close one by one- people not being as interested in hobbies and the rise of computer video games being a couple of the reasons. In the last few years there has been a revival of sorts with a certain amount of people who were glued to computer screens in the 1980's and 1990's playing "adventure" and "virtual reality" games discovering it was actually more fun "playing" in 3-D. So hobbies like model railroading, R/C airplanes and yes slot car racing have made a comeback. For a change, more new raceways have been opening the last few years in the USA than have been closing. Mid-America isn't just about being Slot Car Racing's Road America or Daytona International Speedwayt, it's also about people having fun and inviting their inner child to come out to play. Rental racing cars are available so that you and your buddy can pretend you are Ricky Bobby and Cal Naughton Jr. to "Shake and Bake" around the awesome high bank of their 155 foot long American Raceways "King" track. Does your company want to encourage team building? How about a team racing event? Drivers, pit crews, team leaders... miniature racing teaches the same working together for success lessons that "full-scale" racing instills. Call the raceway now to plan and schedule your corporate event. Stop in sometime and check it out for yourself- but keep an open mind that this is something intended to be a pre-digital age entertainment. It may not be the right sort of thing for impatient or short attention span children or adults.
