Oh my gosh I just had the WORST bar service from this place. Some young bartender with honestly not to be rude a strange name something like Tate? That could be wrong but anyways, I ordered a double tequila soda and he acted like he'd never heard that order before. Quite literally gave me the strangest mean look and laughed when I asked for a physical lime and not lime juice. Not to mention the drink took 30 minuets for him to make. Only thing worth a damn is JOHN BECKER. That bar tender has his shit together and provides the best service I've ever had. Just because John Becker works there is the reason I keep going back. Really brightens my day to see him behind the bar. Would recommend if John is working. read more

Met up here to grab a beer or two with some friends from home. It seemed like a pretty fun place with an outdoor area/bar as well as indoor area/bar and upstairs balcony. Looked like the place to go for juniors/seniors at Ole Miss. Beer prices were also pretty good -- $2 for a miller. The one-star, however, is because of a shady business practice that apparently is quite common in Oxford these days. Whenever I pay with a card, every bar I have ever been to asks me whether I want to close the tab or leave it open. However, the bartender did not mention it, and I forgot about it as well. I really think if the customer doesn't tell you to close/open the tab, then the default should be to CLOSE it. I found out the next day that after only one $2 beer, they added a $10 tip for themselves. I would have tipped anyway (maybe not something so ridiculous for opening a single bottle of beer), but the fact that this is common practice as a way to swindle your customers out of more money is absolutely shameful. I would have called to complain, but $10 isn't worth it, and I didn't keep my receipt anyway. If you find yourself here, or at most other bars on the Square, do yourself a favor and pay with cash. read more

I went to round table in mid July, and after waiting in line for an hour on what was probably the hottest day of the year, the door man 'Griffin' denied me because I was wearing open toed shoes. I tried to get an explanation from him, but he simply refused and forced me out of the line. He was also sweating profusely, and by the time he moved me out of line I was completely drenched in his sweat and smelled like a double chalupa supreme from Taco Bell. I decided to cut my loses, but returned for Sunday night drinks with my girlfriend hoping my luck might change. I arrived only to see Griffin again, and he denied me for being a "problem customer." While I was walking away incredibly frustrated, he hollered "use a condom loser!" Incredibly inappropriate Griffin. I hope you don't use the same language around your significant other. read more

This is probably one of the best new bars on the Square in a long time. They have decent beer prices and a nice back patio. They have an upstairs but unfortunately no balcony (I hope they build a balcony as the Oxford Square has some amazing but small bar balcony space which is often in short supply). I've never eaten the food but it seems the menu has changed often over the course of this place's existence. The current menu looks decent but small and as it has been open for awhile and I'm the first review on Yelp that doesn't add my confidence level to try the food quite yet so this is just a review of the bar as I've experienced it so far. read more

Do not go here unless you pay in cash. Even if you ask to only open 1 tab they will open multiples. When I asked to pay out my tabs I was only given one receipt and was told I was only charged one time. I had seen on my bank app that I had already been charged 3 times and asked the bartender and he said don't worry about and wouldn't let me close my other tabs. I later say that I was still charged 3 times and tips were added to those charges making my total an extra $23. I'm going to try to dispute it with my bank but never pay with card here. read more

The newly-minted 21-year-old "doormen" are assholes. I tried going with my REAL ID. After continually bending it and arguing with me about its authenticity, THEY BROKE IT. This place has double charged me for what is now like the 10th time. They take advantage of drunk college kids by putting in separate POS systems at every bar so if you open a tab you have to go back to that same one everytime. No matter how long the line is for it. Even now knowing that they have separate POS systems, I'll go to the same bar and still somehow get charged twice. This place is unbelievable. Save your money and try somewhere else. read more

Not a bad place, as the upstairs is pretty nice, although the pool table is not well maintained. The drink prices ($8/beer) however are ridiculous, and the cover they charge during football weekends ($20+) is laughable. read more

The menu is new and improved with affordable prices and week-to-week daily specials. The food is one of the better bar and BBQ combined joints in all of Oxford. Alcohol prices are just in The Round Table's comparison with those around the square and they cater well to a vast crowd with their constant alcohol deals. They never charge cover unless it comes time to that busy football weekend, whereas every bar does. Love the place, great hospitality and efficiency. Can definitely see myself returning soon. Plus whenever I walk by, they entire bar seems to be the most fun and crowded bar on the square. Did I mention they have the best patio on the square with a newly constructed downstairs bar loaded with an entirely new 10-beer draft system that runs from down to upstairs bar as well, right next to the pool table.
