The only reason i have given this 1 star out of 5 is because i couldn't see a way of giving it NO stars!! It is safe to say Rough n Tumbles has deifnateley had its time as i am now 20 and i used to play there as a youngster and now i take my 2 year old and nothing has altered atal apart from the incompetence of staff increasing! I took my daughter to a party there at the weekend.Had she not been invited to a party i would not have gone as i am already aware of how awful the place is. The play equipment is pretty boring, a few dirty,old pieces of plastic to be exact..Oh and a triangular trampoline that does not have any safety net or anything for protection around it making it pretty dangerous for young toddlers,especially as it is right next to the wooden bench and table! The staff look ready to go back to bed and do not have the enthusiasm i would expect to work at young children's parties. The spread of party food that is put on is not satisfactory.4 small bags of 15p space raiders between 13 children is hardly enough.And the pieces of carrot,tomatoe and grapes looked asif a dog had chewed them first. The kids had only just started eating when the staff started askin who wanted ice-cream and jelly! The whole thing seemed totally rushed e.g party games etc.When the children were asked to play musical bumps and my daughter didnt want to and carried on playing on the trampoline, the staff told her to 'get off the equipment'.Like a 2 year old girl knows any diffrent,if she doesnt want to play musical bumps she doesnt have to! When asked behind the counter what cold drinks were on offer to purchase the reply was 'not a right lot!' When we got home with our party bag, the cake had been wrapped in napkins that were basically like toilet roll.So cheap and thin that the icing had bits stuck to it and the piece of cake was literally un-edible due to soggy paper all over it! I could go on but i think u get the idea.I take my daughter to a different playgym in Huddersfield and Halifax every week and also parties and its safe to say this playgym will not be somewhere we will EVER re-visit! read more

Had several parties over the years at Rough n Tumbles, and the one yesterday was excellent. One of the few places to actually spend time playing party games with the children and making the party special and personal. The people who run the parties are very friendly, remembering everyones names and making you feel like even they have enjoyed the whole experience, unlike a lot of playgyms you can go to! All the guests / parents said how good the party was. 2 hour party at £4.50 per child superb value for money. Party food included healthy options as well as usual party treats. Yes, Rough n Tumbles is not a shiny, new playgym like some, but the kids get a much better party, much more entertainment, and at a much better price so happy parents too!! Some equipment has recently been updated which the place will benefit from, as it had been getting a bit run-down. But great new bouncy castle/slide and a lovely new trampoline with safety net, so perfect for little ones. I thoroughly recommend this place for pre-school children in the day, and parties for both younger and older children. My son just loves Ruff the Dog! He remembers him from his 3rd birthday party, and having him again at his 5th yesterday was fab! Thanks to all at Rough n Tumbles. read more

I first visited rough & Tumbles a few years ago with my toddler. Straight away I found the owner and other lady that works there really friendly and helpful. They learnt our names quite quickly & always stop to talk if they see us out. The prices are very competitive compared to other play gyms meaning some of their equipment hasn't been in the best condition but has recently had a bit of an overhaul with some new equipment. We have held and attended many parties there which have all been brilliant, especially the themed pirate parties & it's closed to the public so you know it's just the kids you've invited that's there. The play area is big enough to play in with a good range of toys but small enough that you can see where your kids are. There's a safe place to eat, the food is good, the room is colourful & there's plenty of nearby parking. It's great that it's geared towards young children, you know your baby won't get trampled by an older child. The only real downsides are that it's up quite a few stairs so not that good for pushchairs although the staff will help if you let them know and it closes early. read more

what a superb establishment my children aged 18 months 2 and a half and 5 years old all go here for fun and learning as they have a wide variety of equipment and different themed mornings on offer to suit all of them i have held a party here which was outstanding for value and top class for entertainment all the parents were commenting on how the children were never left to their own devices and were constantly entertained my sisters who are teenagers also took part and the entertainers made them feel more than welcome to participate too the food is basic but thoughly enjoyable with a wide variety of hot and cold food and healthy snacks both at the parties and for play time the staff are very keen to help and will never see a child cry and left un attended my children love going here and cry when they have to leave so can anyone reading the posts below who have given one star disregard these as they are a load of tosh and the trampoline is circular not triangle so they cant have paid much attention whilst there as a whole our family loves attending rough n tumbles read more

We go to tumbles every friday to join in the musical adventure sessions. We arrive at about 9.30 and we are there until 2.30. We are always made welcome. the staff greet us by name upon arrival. 10.30 we sit down to sing which he loves. Jess runs this session with great enthusiam and has all the children and adults singing along. what a fantastic session and a great price where else can you play all day for just a pound or two. Then theres the fantastic parties we have had three parties at tumbles one for my son and two for my daughter plus we have attended three halloween parties and three christmas parties. Which the staff have made special and enjoyable. with the character ruff the dog attending. The staff are really trying to make tumbles one of the best play gyms they have just updated a lot of the toys including a new trampoline with safety net a new bouncy castle and kitchen. With dressing up and ball pool it really has something for all. would recommend to all who want a friendly atmosphere and happy staff with good value food and great entry prices. read more

Have just been to a party at Rough 'n' Tumbles and the place was buzzing! There is a new entertainer that does Pirate parties and even though some of the equipment does need updating, it is obvious by the prices of the place that this is not a playgym that works for just profit like so many other playgyms. I found the staff inviting and friendly always ready to speak to the children and the parents. The owner was very enthusiastic about plans for the future and made it clear that the credit crunch has hit them badly, however they are still fighting and I think still offer a wonderful place for my child to play. The attention the staff give during parties was by far the best I have seen and the party was not rushed at all - being 2 hours! The food was fresh and they have obviously thought about healthy options as well as the foods that children enjoy. My child absolutely loved Ruff the dog and is still talking about him now! read more

well what to say as this was my first time to this childrens play center, it was a birthday party we had been invited to. The place was hard to find as on top of another shop so just the door had the name on, due to this we were 10 minutes late for the party which did not go down well with the staff. The staff thought we had gate crashed the party, however if they asked we would of confirmed we had a invite. We felt due to this my little boy was left out by the staff when he went to join in the party games. The play equipment was passed its best as most of it was held together with duck tape, the toys were dirty and needed a good clean, no heating was on and alot of people still had coats on, staff well what can I say useless, rude, unhelpful, also party only last one hour most places do two hours so its not rushed like this one was. read more

Had an absolutely fabulous pirate party hosted by Captain Dave Bunch and Cheryl Cooper at Rough n Tumbles on Saturday for my 4 year son. Lots of parents were very impressed by the quality and how entertained the children were throughout the whole party from beginning to end. Was fantastic value for money, well organised, good healthy food, party bags, games and Ruff joined in :)))))))))) thanks. Will be sorry when I cannot book any more parties read more
