I wasn't sure what to anticipate and as soon as I walked into the salon I was warmly welcomed and put at immediate ease with a inviting smile. Coming from California, at best I know some French words but Sarah speaks English well. Initially she spent time consulting with me and I shared photo of what I was looking for (I went from short length hair to a pixie cut). We comfortably discussed my needs and she was very attentive to understand and throughout checking along to ensure I was happy as we went along. My haircut was crafted expertly and extremely happy with the outcome. Sarah was so sweet, genuine and truly accommodating! Sarah brought me to the rear of the salon to the wash station room. She explained she wanted to create a relaxing and soothing experience while getting hair washed/conditioned. Dimmed lights with a visual slide show projection of tropical images to enhance the experience- totally cool. The shampoo wash and head massage was the best ever! Sarah expertly gave a lengthy head and neck massage and ended with a hot/warm head towel to further add to the experience. It was a real treat! The salon itself has a contemporary, a chic but yet warm design, immaculate. The atmosphere is inviting and friendly. I was brought a tray of bottled Vitell water/glass during my visit. Be prepared since they don't rush you out the door with a quick turnaround appointment. Its apparent service is important and taking care of you takes added time which was very evident to me. Salon is easy to find on a side street off the active (popular amongst tourists) Rue Saint Denis (2nd Ard) about a 15 min walk from the Louvre/Notre Dame. Nice area to explore and walk about. I left the Saravy Salon super pleased and must say it was one of the highlights of my trip to Paris! I've been coming to Paris for years and this was my first time getting a haircut. My trepidations were quickly vanished and now I have a darling, stylish new haircut! Plan to be back again in the fall and will certainly book another appointment with Sarah at Saravy Salon!!!

The poor owner is so sweet and really wants her business to function but clearly doesn't have the right people or structure to do so. There were about 10 colors and no neutrals (I just wanted a basic pale pink or beige or neutral) and there was only sparkles or neons or really ugly browns. Plus most of them were old and sticky or had none left in the bottle... The girl who did my nails was 19 years old and made a note of the fact that she was not certified. I'm happy to be a guinea pig especially for a Groupon deal but her nail file was too small and hurt a little bit and there was no cream or hand massage. Meanwhile, there was no sanitation for the utensils other than anti bacterial gel. I kept checking every time she was cleaning them since I was basically sharing utenstils with some guy who was getting a pedicure. Manicure finished (I got a double layer top coat), I'm ready to get to the pedicure since the manicure took about an hour. Some other client who didn't have an appointment (but is clearly a friend of the owner) is next in the only pedicure chair to get her eyelashes extended (40 minute process) so I'm stuck holding my legs on the girls knees to do my pedicure. Plus its cold, but the only portable heater keeps making the electricity cut out. Finally, the girl says "I'm not really good a red nail polish" and calls her boss to come finish the job. Everyone is kind but clearly the professionalism is not there. Eventually I'm placed in the pedicure throne but my nails are basically dry (also, the flip flops I'm given were not packaged in plastic but just kind of came out of a drawer). I go get my stuff from the other room and the boss tells the young girl to give me a fidelity card, which she doesn't stamp. Not necessary though as I won't be returning. I'd have to bring a blanket and my own colors.

Then, a very nice woman rubbed black soap on our bodies and we returned to the hammam again. We had our entire bodies scrubbed from every angle (I had enough dead skin to create a bouncy ball) and washed. They even washed our hair. We proceeded to dip our bodies in a cold swimming pool to close our pores. Next, we went to get soothing massages with fabulously scented oils. To end the spa treatment, we had mint tea and a variety of Turkish snacks. I definitely recommend this place. I felt like a princess!
