This place is absolutely AMAZING. The service is fantastic. First my girl friend and I spent 15 minutes in the hammam that we had all to ourselves. Then, a very nice woman rubbed black soap on our bodies and we returned to the hammam again. We had our entire bodies scrubbed from every angle (I had enough dead skin to create a bouncy ball) and washed. They even washed our hair. We proceeded to dip our bodies in a cold swimming pool to close our pores. Next, we went to get soothing massages with fabulously scented oils. I had the most amazing morning here. After two weeks of walking approximately 6 miles a day on my honeymoon. This was a treat I got the spa package that included, 45 min massage, black soap scrub, hair wash and facial. It was amaaaaaaaazing and worth every penny. It's a little costly but you're getting your money's worth. The staff are ridiculously friendly. It was such a pleasant surprise because most other encounters we've had with the French have been sort of snooty and High Brow. What an amazing experience! This was a perfect way to get rid of jet lag. I highly recommend. A few things to know if you are a first timer. This is not a typical spa/massage. It is an experience. Be prepared to be very naked and be flexible. I would put aide about 4 hours. There are many steps like sauna, soap, sauna, scrub, hair wash, body wash then relax at lounge eating some Moroccan delights and finally massage. The most amazing spa experience in my life. If I ever make it to Paris again I will go here. After a week long traveling and a small shower to work with at my airbnb flat this was just what I needed. FYI they do not speak English and first you take your clothes off put on the wrap and sit in the sauna then they come and get you and rub this paste on you and you go back in the sauna to wash it off and they will grab you when it's your turn for the scrub. You start on your stomach then flip up and then side to side and finish with your face you then get soaped up and they wash your hair and you rinse in the shower. After this you enjoy some hot tea up stairs in your robe. Great experience just how I imagined old bathe houses to be back in the day. The most amazing spa in Paris!! A little hard to find but when you do what a gem! They don't speak good English but they do what they can to accommodate you. To find it, first it is thru the door marked 55. You go back in the courtyard and straight back to the locked fence. It's on the right side. It doesn't say this name... it says Aux Bains Montorgueil above the door. When you go inside you are immediately greeted by friendly smiles. My friend and I got a package that included the hammam (steam room) gommage (scrub) and a 30 minute massage. AMAZING!!! Be forewarned that it is a pretty open environment with little sarongs with nothing under. Leave your modesty at the door. It's a woman's only environment. The scrubs were amazing! I had Woffa do mine. She's very nice and does a good job. They offer robes, water, tea and flip flop type shoes. We left feeling so refreshed and ready for Paris round two!! read more
