Behle eventually completed the job, but not without revising the project plan three times. This caused costs to rise fourfold, along with holding on to larger sums of deposits over time. What was supposed to be a straightforward job took nearly three months to complete. Originally, we were quoted for an 8-foot trenchless pipe repair job. This turned into a full line repair, requiring an additional third-party contractor to dig in the front yard. It took Behle three separate trips to provide an accurate project scope. The job started in early April and wasn't finished until late June, cutting into a family vacation that we had set as a hard deadline. We were consistently left in the dark about the next steps, had no confidence in the accuracy or completeness of any quote provided, and had to chase down their office and management team for details. While Steve and Kelsey were professional and apologetic when discussing these problems, Thomas offered the typical excuse of blaming workers, saying, "people don't want to work anymore and it's hard to find workers." Thomas showed limited sympathy or understanding, and at the end, offered a measly 5% discount for our troubles. Poor project management and poor communication. They get 2 stars for finishing the job they were paid to do.

    We moved to Des Moines and bought a new home. Our A/C was having trouble cooling our home from the…read morebeginning. It was getting worse so we needed to get a company out to look at our Unit. We liked the name, "Golden Rule". We thought we a name like that they would be a Good company to deal with. We had them to come out and fix our 4 treat old A/C. The builder went cheap and put in a 3.5 ton unit when it should have been a 4 ton. It was being server over worked to cool our house. I knew it needed a Freon charge. That sometimes means you have an A-coil or line leak. I get it. The two tech's that came out said they would not recharge the system because we needed an entire new unit. They said it would run over $7,000.00 and they would work up an exact estimate for me. I asked them how much I owed them right now for the service call. They told me $100. I said I thought that was a might steep for them to come out and not really do anything but tell me I needed to pay approximately $7,000 for a new until. I gave them a check and I told them to get out. I called another company that came out and done what I wanted them to do. Recharge my unit. They did it and my unit ran another 3 years before I had to have it replaced. I called them again when I could afford a new unit. They came out and installed a proper 4.5 ton unit and charged me $4,500. No problems since. Golden Ruke is good at training their tech's at extracting as much money as possible from the clients and not at repairing the problems. I called the company and complained after the giving the two tech's my $100.00 check for basically doing nothing to fix our problem on a very hot day. They apologized and refunded our money. To be fair this was my only experience with this company and it was a number of years ago. They may have changed management or owners since then. All I can recommend is buyer beware. Good luck with any repairs you need and get other opinions and quotes before getting worked done.
