We came for a birthday party and shelter was a great size. I liked that they had the two different play structures, one geared for older kids and one geared for younger kids. I also like the wood mulch as the ground cover. I feel like it cushioned the blow a bit for all the toddler tumbles! There were also quite a few people out on the trail walkers and runners. Parking was easy and on the day we went the playground wasn't too crowded. I would definitely return to this playground with my son!

The amount of parking and the hours it was open seem to be somewhat inadequate for the demand on this space, but it's large enough that people can spread out well. There is a restroom area near the parking lot, albeit without running water in the sinks. I could imagine the trails and parking being developed a bit better, but the space is certainly well worth having as a park and well worth visiting.

Not massive but fair sized park facility including playground, shelter, playing and ball fields, etc. with paved walking/running path to use that connects to the adjacent Hatcher Creek Greenway. The Deets: During COVID-19 time, I've had a chance to walk over to Morrisville Community Park a couple of times to enjoy some outside time. It is easy to access by car with a parking lot off Morrisville Parkway, or you can walk there as I have using Hatcher Creek Greenway path access. From reading others' descriptions of the park, I expected it to be small (if you just considered the area around the playground) but I would say for Morrisville it's got a good bit of land to enjoy...I took plenty of pics of the areas I encountered). There is a children's playground area, and to the side of it appears to be a little outside fitness area to use. To the other side of the playground, a nice shelter area is available with adjacent bathroom facilities. I noticed a sign posted next to them stating that "this facility is cleaned and sanitized daily for your safety" which is good to know, especially now. When you past the shelter, there is a pretty large open playing field (?pickup games of football/soccer, etc.,?) and beyond that are ball fields. The field 1 is a 301 ft fence ball field and field 2 has a 200 ft fence distance, with both next to a nice facilities building. In between the open playing field and fields 1 & 2, there is a smaller ball field (field 3) that appears to be under repairs at the time of this writing. Park users can enjoy a nice paved walkway around all of the park area, and it connects up with the Hatcher Creek Greenway on both sides of the park. It makes for a nice loop in itself for a good walk or to go on further to the greenway for more exercise. In all, As with the greenway, I find Morrisville Community Park a great resource that the town of Morrisville provides to the public for use, especially when you need your exercise to be in an outside setting. I am a fan!

There is ample parking and there are bathroom facilities on site. You can see lots of birds and other wildlife on the trails. Just keep in mind that during hunting season, there will be hunters in the area and people who are hiking are advised to wear either abs orange vest or sweatshirt.

This has become my go-to running spot while in NC for work…read more The entrance into the park is gated and is typically not open during the early hours that I arrive so I park in the lot just outside the gate, which has a quick easy access to the Neuse River Greenway Trail (left) and Crabtree Creek Greenway Trail (right). What I love is you get two very different running paths. The Neuse River Greenway is flat and pretty open. The Crabtree Creek Greenway has some minor elevation but some really cool bridges to go over (including a winding one). The park, itself, has its own running paths. There are bathrooms, water fountains, picnic areas and a big playground. Lots of covered space. From the outside parking lot, you'll hike over the bridge over the freeway into the park (about .20 miles). The bathrooms have a coded door lock that I haven't figured out yet. There is some type of house within the park as well, and I'm not sure what it's about. If you want to find the first really cool bridge, you'll go past the house and keep staying straight on the trail and not veering left or right. Also, the area between the house and the bathrooms yields some pretty cool breezes. I've noticed that temps get cooler from the adjacent field when running through there. There are mile markers on the Crabtree Creek Greenway Trail. You'll hit your first hill at about 1.15 miles from the parking lot outside the gate. Perfect place for long runs, interval workouts or bike rides. Very scenic!

They've also got these cement (or some sort of stone anyway) tables and chairs that are built into the ground. They are great for stopping to chill and have a snack or for playing chess. One of my favorite things about this park is that the big kids section and younger kids playground are pretty well separated as well as fenced in so you don't need to worry about your toddler running off and disappearing. The toilet here is pretty crap ngl but hey, at least they have a toilet st all. Look out for the birds in the summer. They will stare you down and follow you like you're treading on their turf and it's pretty damn intimidating haha RUN!!!

Big, flat and plenty of room for running! The playgrounds looked quite popular and include rubber-surfaced areas for ages 2-5 and 5-12. Very busy today with parents and little ones running about. The park has a few benches here and there, especially the one in front of Cooper's Pond. I'm not sure if the pond is stocked, but being near the water was lovely. Yesterday, however, we…read morewere able to experience the walking trail a brand-new playground for the first time, and were really disappointed. The walking trail was fine, clean, and a little hilly. There were a lot of people and well-behaved pups on leashes enjoying the beautiful weather. However, the actual paths were covered in a thick carpet of pine needles, so people were slipping and sliding everywhere (in dry conditions). I would think there's a way for trees to be pruned so as to provide for a safer walking trail (see Lake Lynn's trail for an example). My primary issue was with the new playground. Whoever designed and selected it does not have children. And has never been around children. I think the only kids who would enjoy it are 8 year olds without their parents nearby to stop them from climbing to the top of the structures and jumping off. The floor is that rubberized mat, which is nice. There's a large swing for multiple kids to use, which is fine but often not super popular. No regular or baby swings, which is a bummer. The structure for little kids is barely adequate - basically just a couple of platforms and a spinning toy that seemed to contain trash and a couple of balls. No slides, covers, puzzles.... really anything interesting. I'm not sure if the play structure is more an abomination or an art piece not meant to be played with, but it's certainly bizarre. The only slide has NO sides to prevent one from falling - it's just a steep piece of metal designed to cause harm. The other thing that looks like a slide from behind is for climbing, and has a railing straight down the middle. Why not on the side? I cannot explain. There are lots of rope webs for climbing, which will prove fun for some kids. But the platforms are not practical for standing or climbing, and it's mostly simply an unusable hazard.

The best part is all the green surrounding you. There was a nice breeze today and made it enjoyable even with the heat and humidity. The trails are good for dogs, stopping and sitting along the way and even picnics as well as photo opportunities. There are a few restrooms and even a place to buy water if you forgot yours. Additionally, parking is adequate, but Im sure at peak times then maybe not. So what are you waiting for, get your shoes on and head over to E Carroll Joyner Park to get some fresh air and maybe even some exercise. Don't forget, it is pet friendly as long as it's not an alligator.
