Meanwhile, I returned to Ross Lujan Studio to have my color done. Ross, again, (this is my second time there!) was personable, patient, knowledgeable and, simply, a pleasure. He took my head into his hands and - like magic - got rid of the brassy tones of my brown hair. It, actually, looks like my color from many years ago... you know, before any grey or age took hold. Ross Lujan Studio? It's my go-to spot in West Hollywood. It's not your typical salon. It's more like this cool, hidden place where you can just chill and get a great cut. Ross has been at it for like 30 years, and it shows. He just gets it right every time, you know? Ross is an incredible hairstylist - there is something about going into a salon and having trust that he just wants to make sure you leave great with hair and color that you want, but also a style that you can manage the day to day. Briza and her staff are absolutely amazing! I have followed her on Instagram for a long time and FINALLY made the 1 1/2 hour drive to see her. At the end of my appointment I was literally in tears because my expectation was superseded and I felt like ME again! To give you a background of what my hair is like: -naturally curly -dry -frizzy -thin -had color in it from about a year ago Looks like I'm a nightmare of a client, and to be honest, when I went into a different salon a year ago the stylist looked at my hair like I might as well set fire to my hair. But Briza, made me feel normal. She made a true assessment and even gave me tips on how to treat my hair on a daily basis without funny looks or judgment. When I left my hair was not only looking fly, but also felt softer and more manageable than when I walked in. She is an absolute sweetheart and her staff is also friendly and talented. Ross is hands down my favorite hairdresser I've ever been to. I used to hate getting my hair done bc it would take so long, but now I love it because Ross is such a fun guy to hang out with. Attention, please: Ross Lujan Studio has taken on a new gentleman stylist by the name of Robbie. Now, being as I keep my hair really short I don't have enough of it for him to style, so I've never actually had the pleasure of Robbie working on my 'do'. For that reason, I can only give this review four stars. I can tell you this much, though: Robbie has an amazing portfolio of work behind him - he'd have to, for RLS to even take him on, right?? What's more, Robbie is an incredibly talented individual, as well as one of the most charming, funny and personable men that I know, professionally or otherwise. Give him a shot! I've been meaning to write a review for The One and Only, Mr. Robert Rea, but am the epitome of a "procrastinator"! After receiving a horrible cut at another salon where my hair was damaged and not cut properly, Robert cared for hair and trimmed away as much of the damage as possible leaving my locks with life again! Not only did he take his time with the shampoo and massage portion, which in my opinion is orgasmic in itself, but he also took the time to explain what damage was done to my hair and how he was going to fix it. He then snipped away and left me feeling rejuvenated. Smelling so fresh and so clean, my hair full of volume and bounce - compliments of a Brazilian Blowout as well, I left Ross Lujan Studio and Robert Rea a new found woman. I just got my hair cut by Robert here. Wow, what an amazing style. I put my hair in his hands to come up with a new style for me, and I ended up with a work of art. First of all, I was impressed how personable he was when meeting, and then I was blown away how well he was listening to me and my needs. I haven't been to a stylist who considers my career and activities as part of what I will end up with. I also appreciated the ambient lighting and tranquility of the hair studio. I always hated going in to get my hair styled and having to listen to a bunch of loud people and crazy music. I know it was good because I fell asleep several times in the chair. His hands are magic! I have been a client since Brandi moved there. She's an excellent Stylist, Fashionista! The entire staff of the Salon (including Lenny) are friendly and appear to have a solid consistent clientele. The salon is clean, service is excellent as they all kick-in and support one another and parking is all around (you should plan on arriving 10 minutes prior to your appointed time to make sure you are parked in a place that's not too pricey and very convenient. Although, I haven't been there recently due to a serious accident, I miss them all and I ALWAYS enjoy my service each time Brandi gives me a new "do". After looking at photos and reading reviews, I walked-in to Ross's salon. Timing was on my side, as he was free, and able to give me a cut. I get iffy about just anyone cutting my hair, and felt immediately at ease. Ross is a pro! His shampoo head massage is to die for. I'm super happy with my cut -- he took off just the right amount. So let me start off by saying that I was the kind of girl that used to only get my haircut at the chain places. I thought a haircut was a haircut. But after getting my hair cut at Ross Lujan Studio, I realize that statement is totally not true. I am so glad that I stumbled across this place as I work near by. I've lived in LA for about two and a half years without a haircut; partially, because my split ends suddenly subsided - but mostly because my stylist is up in Corvallis, Oregon. It's a little far for just a trim, so I've put it on hold for a long while now. The other week, when I was at Stark at the Face Place, I noticed that there was a salon a few doors down. I asked the receptionist what she thought of the salon, or if there was even anything to consider - she told me to run in after my appointment with them and see for myself. What I didn't know is she went and told the lovely gents at the salon I'd be coming by as well. From the second I walked into the salon, Fabian made me feel at home and at ease. We talked for only a few moments but he basically had me at 'Hello'; he's charming, professional and knows damn well what he's doing with your tresses. Also, not like it's of consequence, but he has the most ADORABLE toy poodle (named Doodle!). When I came back the next day, we hung out a little, talked the talk and then we walked the walk - this is a week later and I'm still basking in the light of my hair trim. Love is an understatement; I feel sexy - it's great! When you walk away feeling this good, who really cares how much it costs? Well, lots of people - for a hair trim, shape and style it only came out to $75. $75 for a week (+) of feeling pure bliss? TOTALLY worth it. read more

Thank God I finally found Ross!! For any guy in LA who is looking to find a great hair stylist- Ross is the guy to see. I've lived in the area for a few months and have had a hard time finding someone I like to cut my hair. I came to Ross Lujan Studio and told him I didn't know what to do with my hair, so he just worked some magic and less than an hour later I was getting more compliments on my hair than I've had in years. The guys who work at this salon are hilarious and super easy to talk to. No attitude at all, they make you feel comfortable, look like a million bucks, and the prices are exactly what they should be! I hate going to salons where it costs $100 for a so/so men's haircut. Ross knows how cut and style guy's hair, and it won't break the bank. Stylist - Robert Rea First of all, let me say how terribly picky I am about my hair; it's kind of a problem. Anyways, Robert not only made me comfortable by listening carefully and thoroughly going over what it was that I wanted, but also made some great recommendations that I love and now regularly request. Solid work. On top of a generally great stylist, he's funny and easy to talk to as well. I hate going to a stylist and staring at my reflection for an hour bored out of my mind. LOVE my haircut with Lindsey! She cut 8" off and gave me the cutest short hairstyle, exactly what I wanted. It was my first time with her and I was a little nervous.. I have thick asian hair and a lot of it.. past stylists have mentioned that its difficult to cut. Lindsey is so confident and skillful with her scissors, and she really listens to what you want. BRIZA! I went with friends to get our hair balyaged by her last weekend and it was a great experience! Just to give a quick background on my hair, I've ombréd it using box dye for the past few years and I use a straightening iron religiously everyday without heat protection so it's in less than optimal condition. I decided to finally give a salon a try because I can never get my hair light enough or ashy enough on my own. I definitely went in worried that either Briza wouldn't be able to give me the color I wanted or that she would but my hair would all fall out. My concerns were as stupid as they sound because she and her assistants were amazingly friendly (they even offered us lunch and snacks) and perceptive to questions/concerns. I especially appreciated that she was upfront about what she could and couldn't do to minimize damage to our hair. For my hair the process was dye, tone, and condition. And, just as a heads up, it did take a while (around 4 hours per person) but it was worth the wait! We all had different requests and she delivered on every single one of them. The best part is that my hair doesn't feel too different than it did before (she uses B3 which is like Oleplex to slow down the damaging process when lightening) and she was able to bring my hair to an ashy hue! I definitely recommend her (also psst she has a 50% discount on her IG for this month only)! read more

I just moved to West Hollywood and am so glad I tried this place first. I have a short hair cut that is somewhat complex and I'm thrilled with how it turned out. Abraham was my stylist and he really listened to what I wanted from my hair cut and he approached in a way no one else ever had. Ross is one of those rare people you meet in life who is not only excellent at his job, in a totally laid back sort of way, but whose business has quietly become a mainstay of the local WeHo community through longevity and his compassion. Been getting my hair cut by Ross for at least a decade. While many people believe men's hair is very easy to cut, mine is thick (with varying curl and textures) and grows in many different directions. Ross got it right the first time, and has continued to do so ever since. He does a good, flattering haircut (I typically get a couple of compliments within the first couple of days.) When I've needed a last-minute haircut for an out-of-town wedding or other event, he's made time for me (even when his appointment book is already full) - something that would never happen at one of the chain shops. Ross has also done color for me on occasion (i.e. get rid of the grey that he can't cut off). He gets the color just right - no funny hue that shows up at the worst times such as under fluorescents or in oblique sunlight. He's relaxed and a go-with-the-flow guy, and the entire shop reflects that attitude. I sometimes want him to cut more slowly so I can enjoy the experience just a little bit longer... read more

This is a review for Chelsea Jaymes who does my color. I've followed Chelsea from another salon and I can't speak highly enough about her work! She has taken me blonde from a dark (almost black) brown and my hair is healthy and looks great and natural. I've been seeing her for a long time now and she never ever disappoints. The only reason I went to this budget salon was to see Robert! The salon is in mid-construction for a year now - and could really use some paint on that plywood ceiling. I have known the owner Ross for a very long time from the WEHO neighborhood. But I had never gone to him personally to get my hair done.....until yesterday. OMG!! I have been missing out on him for the last twenty years and I live right behind his shop! I needed my hair blonded (highlighted) and at the last minute he was kind enough to take me. In all the years I've been getting my hair blonded I've NEVER had a hairdresser get it right the first time...and I am picky picky picky! He is so fast and knows EXACTLY WHAT U WANT and doesn't keep u sitting there for hours on end. Went to my hosting class right after and my coach said it's the BEST my hair EVER LOOKED! Shooting my videos for my utube channel Friday and now I know I will look my best! I'm convinced Briza has magical hands due to that fact that she is the God of all hairstylists! I scheduled an appointment with Briza after seeing her previous beautiful work through social media and for the first time in my life I walked into a new salon without any photo or idea of what i wanted done, i just knew i needed something fun, fresh, and sexy. I told Briza, nervously, please do whatever you think would look best. She spent an incredible 5 hours perfecting a balayage color and new layered cut on me that I walked out of there feeling like Beyonce!! My daughter and i had a balayage and cut done from Briza last night any we couldn't have been any pleased with how it turned out. It really was worth driving from Huntington Beach to West Hollywood and now, we wouldn't want anyone but Briza and her team to touch our hair. They also ordered pizza for us to enjoy while we got our hair done. They really do go above and beyond to keep their clients happy and satisfied.
