Not the biggest selection and the guard set up is a bit unnerving. But it's a discount store so I guess it's to be expected. Everyone's nice and friendly the 3x I have been there and I'm sure I'll be back out of a necessity shortly. I think Ross is a value for parents trying to keep up with the Joneses. They can buy sporty name brands at a lower cost so they can still save some money for further education or enrichment activities that are so overly priced. read more

I had a really stressful morning at this particular Ross. We had barely been in the store for five minutes when my stomach started rumbling so badly that I felt like I might throw up. The cramps hit hard, and I urgently needed to find a restroom. Unfortunately, the women's bathroom was being cleaned. So, I waited patiently, but time was not on my side. The fitting room was nearby, and there was a staff member there. After a torturous ten minutes of waiting, I couldn't hold it anymore. Since no one was using the men's bathroom, I politely asked if I could use it. The staff member shrugged her shoulders--clearly, she wasn't keen on letting me go in. To be fair, she consulted an older lady for approval, likely worried about getting in trouble. I understood her hesitation. The older lady came inside with me, using the restroom as well. Just as I entered the bathroom cubicle, she shouted, "Hurry up, men are coming!" I replied, "How can I rush? I just sat down, and my stomach is killing me!" I did my best to hurry, but I still decided to wait for the women's bathroom afterward. I didn't want to risk having men come in while I was still in there, making it impossible to handle my business. So, I waited another 5-10 minutes for the women's bathroom to relieve myself. Eventually, I approached the men who were cleaning and asked, "Excuse me Senyor, do you mind if I quickly use the restroom?" They kindly agreed and said, "Sure, just be careful; the floor is still wet." I really appreciated their understanding... much different from the women who lacked empathy and seemed to have "no clue"about my situation. It felt like they wanted me to just give up and not care. If the roles were reversed, I'm sure they would have been furious if it happened to them. When I returned to the fitting room to try on some clothes, I had to face the same attendant again. She took her time inspecting the garments, moving at an excruciatingly slow pace. I thought I wasn't the only one who noticed, but then my husband mentioned the negative vibes and her aura, and how she slowly checked the clothes I wanted to try on. Even he, who wasn't aware of the situation, he could feel the rudeness. He realized something was off after we got into the car. I didn't know where to start describing my feelings, especially since I wasn't feeling well that day; it was one of the worst days of my life! I hope they can read this... read more

The place sucks, I mean where do they get the crap from? Oh ya they get it for free it all fell off the pallet, then they try to sell it to worthy people like they're doing us a favor. If I can give this Ross 0 stars I would. I went in to return a rug that had a tag on and was purchased Couple days ago. The associate looked at the rug and mentioned was wet and was contemplating and doing the return. It's when she called her manager Laura to ask for her approval. She came over with such a nasty attitude looking at the rug as if it was a $2000. And saying was dirty and stained when it was black and unfortunately anything you drop or even a hair can make it look dirty. I explained that I just had bought it and it for a closet. She rudely denied my return. I explained to her that all her rugs are on the floor and people walk by stepping on them. No one cares it's ROSS. There store Im sorry to say is always a mess and unorganized. I've also experienced another in counter with a manger believe her name is Maria, unbelievable how these women thinking there working for Chanel or something with there attitude. Ross step up your customer service and stop hiring people to run your store that have no work ethics and customer service. At the end of the day learn to accommodate clients and make exceptions. I went into Ross today and 4:30pm. The girl that was on register 1 was so rude and unprofessional with the customer before me and also with me. I walked up said hello and she didn't say anything and while waiting on customers she was yawning the whole time and not covering her mouth! Horrible experience. Horrible customer service. I have worked in retail so I know what it's like to be behind a cash register. I also know the Ca laws. If a gift card, store credit or return is under $10 and the customer asks for cash. BY LAW you are supposed to give cash. This is the only store I've been to that doesn't do this. They wanted to put my money onto a card I no longer have. This is the second time it's happened at this store. The manager and her employees were so rude. The manager was talking down to the man helping me. I will not be returning to this location. This place needs a revamp, training and a new crew. read more

I like reading the bad reviews on here it makes me laugh, c'mon peeps! This is ultimately a Ross- You don't come here for the customer service, for the organization, fast checkout, etc.. you come here to find a good deal, and there are plenty of great deals here whenever I come in. I feel like this Ross location has better deals than the other locations in the AV. For example, I got a cute maxi dress for $7.99, a 4pc ramekin set for $4.99 & a pair of BCBG heels for $30.99 compared to $70 original price.. random items I know, but these are part of my lil treasures I found on my last shopping trip there. Just be patient, don't come in on your lunch break or when you're pressed for time, its bargain shopping so make the most of it and find some goodies. read more

Came to shop with my 7 month old daughter where she sits perfectly in the shopping cart. When I went to go try on clothes, they told me I couldn't bring my shopping cart in. They could clearly see I had nothing else in the cart but the things I was about to try on & my daughter. I said "where am I suppose to put my baby?" & the lady just said "no shopping carts." So I left. This is ridiculous. So a mother can't go shopping and try on clothes unless you leave your baby on the dirty floor or bench? read more

I was minding my own business, school shopping for my kids, when I was approached by a lady that worked in the dressing room Department. If she had approached me with discretion and respect it would have been acceptable but she approached me loud and ignorant to the point where a small crowd was watching her put the situation on display. She told me I wasn't allowed to eat some chips from the bag I was about to buy. I spent over $300 in the store today. There was no reason for her to approach me the way she did.There was no reason for her to tell me I couldn't eat what i was in line to purchase. I'm diabetic and felt sick so I grabbed what was closest to me. There are no signs posted and when I told her there arent any signs posted about NOT eating or a diabetic NOT being able to eat - in order to stop from being sick. This bully continued harrassing me by calling her manager over her walkie talkie and the manager picked up where she left off. Making me uncomfortable and my kids were feeling uncomfortable also. The manager was just as ignorant with zero manners or discretion and said it was a California state law people are NOT allowed to eat inside the store. I'm looking it up & I can't find a penal code or any laws that back up this entire unnecessary situation. Unprofessional & unacceptable. I'm concerned with the fact that these girls/women may have targeted me & my children. Discrimination is real & contacting the BETTER BUSINESS BEUREU may be necessary. read more

I loved this ross, but the manager Maria is an absolute nightmare. I'm a local reseller and spend 1000s a month at ross and often buy and resell clothing and shoes. Recently ross stopped putting out the carts of shoes after processing them in the stock room. Fair enough, it does take up room for other people to shop in the isles. Now I'm being told if I look in the stock room that has an open window I'm going to be ban from the store. This same store I spend 1000s at a month, I AM NOT valued as a customer anymore and have felt other previous helpful employees turn against me as a result of here very poor management. She is rude, nasty, and inconsiderate I often find myself waiting for shoes and having come back up to 6 times in a day. Instead of helping me make purchases she takes the time to have security and associates follow me around. I have never seen such poor management , and this isn't her only complaint reading through other reviews there are other people complaining about her lack of professionalism. Maria please resign you make up rules that corporate doesn't enforce and you try to ban life long loyal customers who just want to make purchases. Juana supervisor was not helpful at all. They have the worst return policy ever. We received some gifts for Christmas but didn't get them till the 2nd week in January. We tried to return them a week later and they wouldn't give us a refund even though we had the receipt. She would not make an exception even though we explained we just saw the person and just got the gifts and we had the receipt. One jacket we had didn't have the receipt and they offered we $2 for it. It obviously didn't cost $2 and they wanted to give me store credit. I refused and donated it to a homeless shelter instead. This place is a joke and I will never return. These stores are all pretty much the same with slight variations in degrees of ghettoness (I made that word up) I do have to admit though that the shoes are a good bargain. My wife is excellent at finding great deals here, so I do appreciate that. There's a Barnes & Nobel next door where I can hang while the shopping spree is in effect. I usually stick to my wife cause I want credit for shopping with her and not complaining. Out of all the Ross stores in the Antelope Valley, this is definately my favorite one. They are always stocked up on everything, and have a good variety on the designer section for ladies. Once upon a time, about four years ago - I had my credit card number stolen from this store. But I got over it and returned a few years later to get my fill of cute dresses on discount. It IS a Ross Dress For Less, so options are hit and miss. I do always seem to find great dresses at this location. My only complaint is that the store feels pretty dirty and I just feel generally icky while I'm in there. But it is all worth it just to nab that great outfit for under $20... as long as I pay cash, all is well. read more

Went in to buy a gift. Everything was fine until I got in line there was a long line and one cashier and one lady talking on the side. One of the customers asked this lady if she was going to open another register. So finally she did the customer was rung up and left and I was next. The lady turns out to be the manager on duty. Her name I believe started with a J. As she was ringing me up she starts complaining to another cashier "if you don't want to wait in line then don't go shopping" this was very unprofessional I work in retail and yes customers do get frustrated but as a manager I expected her to willingly help and also keep your thoughts to yourself or behind the scenes please. Great place to shop, I read a lot of these comments and it's funny when people say "had to leave because of a drink felt like I was treated as a kid" well first off, you're acting like a kid since you are whining about a drink, secondly they explain that they have a sign outside saying no food or drinks allowed" I'm assuming because of the mess people make in store. Especially when some one is eating a product with no purchase, I've seen a lot of people especially children open up snacks from the store and eat then when it comes down to getting in line to purchase, they just leave it behind as if they weren't just munching on it. But other than that, i find it nice in there, a lot of great deals like the Kobe's (shoes) i found in there for 50 when they are way more than that! read more

If you can make it through all that you will find some okay deals but I find most of the cosmetics and toiletries are opened or broken here. The kitchen and bathroom accessories are worthless and mostly junk at this location. First off I love Ross just hated my experience. I went to pick out a picture frame and found it easy and fast. I go to check out the line is ridiculously long and only have 2 cashiers open. As they're calling people up they're yelling "I can take the next purchase". This irked me. I'm not a purchase, I am a customer. First off it doesn't make sense and two it's rude. I took time out of my day to shop there and spend money and they're going to make it so impersonal that they can't even refer to us as customers but "next purchase". As I finally check out the girl was in such a rush to get more "purchases made" she barely talked, rings up my frame, tosses it in a bag and as I'm barely done typing in my pin she goes "I can take the next purchase!" I almost lost my mind. First off I'm NOT done with my transaction so don't call the next person. Two, I hadn't even gotten my receipt. This was the icing on the cake: I had to take my own receipt out of the printer. How LAZY can one be that she can't even reach and hand my receipt to me and as I walk away she can call the next person. I hadn't gotten my card or wallet together and the next customer is trying to push me out of the way. I'm VERY disappointed in my experience. I wrote Ross online and I'm going to call the store. I have been shopping at Ross Stores for a few years now with on and off luck, As to be expected with the type of store this is. No one store has the same inventory. I have had better luck in these stores than some department stores in the past. This location in particular, to say the least, leaves much to be desired. I purchased a dress, a $40 dress, which is a bit on the pricey side for Ross. The dress was taken home and tried on for a specific occasion. The dress was not a proper fit and was intended to be brought back for refund less than a week later. I brought the dress back and spoke with one of the customer service desk representatives. This female had to be the worst Customer Service agents I have yet to come across. She had no tact and a terrible attitude, having worked in retail management myself for 10+ years i know how to speak and deal with customers. This female certainly did not. She told me that due to the "nature" of the tag, she refused to return my item. The item had been in the bag tied tight since the purchase, inferring I had compromised the item. I was infuriated. I now have a $40 dress I have no use for because this location sold me an item with a crappy tag? I'm glad I have found another location as I have no intention of returning to this one because of this one female. read more
