I genuinely wish yelp allowed me to give ZERO stars, because this Ross absolutely deserves it.
I stopped shopping at Ross regularly a while ago, but I happened to be in the area the other day and decided to walk in just to browse. What the actual hell happened to this store? I have never seen a retail store this disgusting, disorganized, and neglected.
The entire store looked like nobody had bothered to clean or straighten anything in days. Clothes were literally all over the floor. The aisles were so disorganized and packed with merchandise that you could barely walk through them, let alone comfortably shop. Shoes were thrown into completely wrong sections. Shelves were overflowing with products stacked so poorly that you could pick up ONE item and have five other things fall off the shelf.
And then I started noticing empty cups and drinks left throughout the store. I counted TEN cups/drink containers that had clearly been abandoned by customers, including Starbucks and Taco Bell cups. One of them had MOLD growing in it. MOLD. That means that disgusting cup had been sitting there long enough for mold to grow, and apparently not ONE employee thought, "Maybe we should pick this up."
I have dogs, so naturally I went over to the pet section. It looked like a literal hurricane had gone through it. Products were knocked everywhere, things were thrown around, and you could barely get a shopping cart down the aisle.
At that point, I decided to walk through the entire store just to see if maybe it was isolated to certain sections. Nope. The entire store was like this.
And what made it even worse? I watched employees walking through these same aisles and walking directly past clothes and merchandise on the floor without picking up a single thing. Instead, I could hear employees standing around gossiping about their sex lives and talking about other coworkers while the store looked like it had been abandoned.
So apparently there was plenty of time to gossip, but absolutely no time to clean the store.
Then I went to the dressing rooms. Same story. They looked like they hadn't been properly cleaned in who knows how long. There was dust, tags, hangers, and garbage everywhere. At this point I genuinely had to ask myself: Does anyone actually work here?
Finally, I get to the checkout, hoping at least that interaction would be pleasant. Nope. I said, "Hello, how are you?" to the cashier. She responded with "fine" and proceeded to grab my things without another word. No friendliness, no customer service, nothing. I wasn't expecting a red carpet or a parade, but basic customer service would have been nice.
And before anyone says, "Well, it's Ross, what do you expect?" I expect the bare minimum. I shop at Ross elsewhere, and the difference is night and day. The Ross where I'm from is organized, clean, the employees actually maintain the store, and the shopping experience is completely different.
This location, however, was an absolute disaster.
And apparently the customers weren't much better. Children were running, screaming, and hooting and hollering through the aisles, running into people while their parents did absolutely nothing. I understand kids are kids, but when they're running through a crowded store and practically crashing into other customers, someone needs to intervene. I'm trying to shop after a long week of work, not dodge children sprinting through the aisles.
The combination of the filthy store, moldy abandoned drinks, merchandise everywhere, employees ignoring the mess, employees gossiping instead of working, disgusting dressing rooms, nonexistent customer service, and general chaos made this one of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had.
I walked in thinking I'd casually browse for a few minutes. I walked out wondering how this location is allowed to look like this.
Ross corporate really needs to send someone to this location and take a VERY serious look at what is going on here, because this is not just "a little messy." This store is severely neglected. Zero stars. read more
