Whoa! Snakes, multiple types of birds, groundhogs, easy walking paths, visitor center and lots of parking...... Kerpow! Had a great 30 minute or so walk around this property. So happy with all the wildlife that showed themselves to me!

Amazing resource! Family-friendly, peaceful, a credit to our Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation! The air-conditioned facility has a water fountain, large, clean restrooms, wildlife exhibits, and a comfortable kids' corner with books and activities. Outside, there are easy paths that wind among the areas of the wetland. Birds, snakes, and other critters can be seen. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Amazing place where we can witness nature healing!

Nice historic park in Reno. I don't think it's really a tourist spot, more like a local hangout. Good thing it was only a mildly warm weekend, as Idlewild is in the middle of the city, so not exactly "in the woods." However, there are lots of trees here so they provided some shade for our time here. Parking was easy, plenty of spaces along the main road of the park, and some dedicated spots in several areas too. We discovered that one of the main attractions here is a pond, so we picnicked while we sat on the side of the pond and watched ducks do their waddle thing and just like the ones at William Land Park, these ducks were also are very comfortable with humans and they came by and tried to ask for food and watched us eat. The pond is about the same size as the Land Park one, for those who know Sactown, but it's a bit bigger, I think. It's also a man-made pond, but with fish in it and wildlife around. Besides the pond, there's a rose garden just across the main road leading into the park, and a sensory garden, as well as a play structure for kids and a little train runs through the park that you can buy tickets and ride on (best for little ones). The park is pretty well-maintained and look to be in good condition overall. Landscaping is kept up with lots of trees, flora, plants, and fields throughout. All in all, a nice park in Reno, a little oasis in the middle of the biggest little city in Nevada.

We used to bring my kiddos to this park a when they were little. There's a good amount of shade, ample parking, There are restroom facilities with bright night lighting. A large stretch of grass and even a walking trail makes for some good stroller cruisin'! I'd say a highlight to this park is the awesome view and location. We paid $250 for the rental through the city of Reno. Just so you know, the power outlets DO NOT WORK. We used our vehicles for power outlets ;)
