Amazing House! Each room had so much detail poured in it. Gorgeous furniture. Hard to believe it was built so long ago but is still very modern. Absolutely worth every dollar. The best museum in Pueblo.

Amazing best attraction anywhere near Pueblo. The staff were great and very knowledgeable!

I don't believe you will find a better thought out and planned house from this era anywhere. We were simply amazed. The Biltmorehouse in NC is bigger but this house is a gem!! You must go if you are in Pueblo. The rest of the town is shady but this is a bright spot very bright!

    Beautiful shaded lawn

Which, for their big exhibit on a mining disaster with a life-size, almost hologramish girl, walking me through it. It was a chapter of us history I did not know, and they told it it incredible (and at times horrifying) detail. But you left understand the fear of the miners and their families and their desire to unionize. Pandemic: Clear and redundant covid signage heading in. Full contact tracing, PPE, etc, and even though I had it to myself, exhibits and museum capacity were limited to small #s of people in signage as you enter each area. Very impressive. In a way, how Pueblo handles covid, is its own history. As for all our cities. This is the first museum I've entered since the pandemic began. It was a sight for sore eyes, and an a feast for my hungry brain. Very well organized, and really kind staff. And I am amazed at the history I have glimpsed, in this now... small peaceful town. Thank you for sharing.

We visited today after a long hiatus. This is certainly among the lamest museums we have ever had…read morethe misfortune to tour. It SHOULD be a repository of artifacts about the varied history, cultures and ethnicities that have built the City of Pueblo from the 1840s to present. What it IS is something different. There are three sections. One gives a very brief history of the establishment of the original trading post/fort/community established in 1842 and its demise. The rest of the section focuses almost exclusively on the Hispanic people of the area as well as the indigenes. Display placards, all of which are in Spanish first, then English through the museum, consistent label American settlers as 'colonizers' and 'anglos' throughout. The second section, is dedicated completely to the steel industry labor movement in Pueblo. The third is about a small, fringe section of the city, featured because of the strong presence of citizens with Hispanic heritage. There's a lot of wasted space in the attractive building. Years ago, it used to have many more artifacts and gave a somewhat more balanced presentation of the rich history of Pueblo. Most all artifacts that do not support the present narratives are removed.

After looking online for things to do I didn't consider this place just because the name sounded political and made me think I was going to get yelled at for driving an SUV or eating meat or something. We did end up checking out the Riverwalk, which is a separate review. Not knowing the CAV was on the Riverwalk, I was surprised to see the entrance at the end of our walk and decided to step inside. We were the only two people there and were immediately greeted by a volunteer who was more than eager to explain the meaning and history of the display. I was so humbled by the display, every photograph has it's own amazing story and the experience made me want to learn them all. The portraits are amazing and knowing each recipient chose the location for their own portrait makes them even more special. I ended up buying the book detailing the Metal of Honor recipients and will enjoy learning more about these amazing heroes as I study them. They need to change the name to something more fitting of the patriots being honored here but I would definitely make this a top priority stop when in the Pueblo area. A special thank you to the volunteers who make this facility possible, not just for your time to volunteer but also for your service and your sacrifice.

I found myself making the trip to take care of some work, as well as flip through some books. - A lot bigger than I expected, and the building gives off a corporate business vibe rather than a library - Parking lot and street parking are available - 3 floors to check out, the 4th floor is reserved for (large) meeting rooms - They have multiple study rooms for 2-4 people, which you can reserve online through their website without a library card - Art exhibit on the 3rd floor - The 1st floor has a coffee bar, with a few pastries. They really try to bring the community in for cultural enrichment through film, author appearances, swaps, classes and more. Just recently, they hosted Tibetan monks who constructed a sand mandala over a few days' time - such a peaceful experience to watch them create such an intricate piece of work. The library itself is very clean, spacious, and the architecture is very modern - a unique contrast to the century-old buildings that sit just across the street from it. This library is a gem that everyone in this town can be proud of.
