We popped in here for a hot mocha cappuccino during one of our strolls around Greenwich Village. This shop was nearby after we had exited Central Park. Oasis vibes on a rainy April afternoon and pleasantly surprised to discover this concept of a combination florist with a coffee shop. Genius idea! Interior was cozy with hanging plants, potted plants, and refrigerator cases holding fresh floral arrangements. Okay this type of coffee shop is my dream. The idea of being in a place that combines plants, drinking coffee, and a side flower shop is just the best business plan to me! The only thing that could make this better is if they sold books too!! The coffee was good! Not having books is not why I knocked them off stars. It was their customer service. They were not very engaging or helpful. I took the video of the store and I could see two of the staff members whispering about me. At first I wanted to just imagine they were talking about me but they way they were doing it, was obvious they were saying something. To be fair they never approached me but then after I sat down another girl from another table went to take a video of the shop and again they went to whisper but this time they went up to her in front of everyone and told her she could not do that. Mind you this is a very small coffee shop, needless to say she felt embarrassed. I felt mixed about seeing this. I'm like the shop is so nice why wouldn't you want pictures taken of it? Also, if this is your policy why not have signs posted instead of embarrassing the patron in front of everyone in such a small establishment? I can understand this is your policy and it's your business all should respect it but it can just be done in a friendlier way. All in all I would still come back!!! read more

As a florist store, Rosecrans is pretty filled with beautiful booms and hanging foliage. The cafe area is cramped with tiny tables very close to each other. One has to talk softly as otherwise conversation becomes public. Yolande and I came here for an afternoon coffee. We both had cappuccinos. A blueberry muffin accompanied my coffee. All their pastries come from assorted bakeries. This muffin was from Colson. It was well made. This florist cafe serves breakfast and lunch in the form of sandwiches and salads. I love this place, and you know because I've actually been twice. The place is set up like half a flower shop, half a cafe and that gives it a really great vibe. For one, it's hard to find nature in the city but the set up also feels so intimate between tables with the lower lighting and all the plants. The first time I got a coffee and a cardamon bun which was really incredible, the next time I went back in the evening and got a hot tea to escape the cold before dinner. It was much busier at this time which surprised me. I'm excited to go back and try the food which looks great but I've never had. read more

Rosecrans is such a cute coffee shop that doubles as a flower shop! It's in the heart of Greenwich village and when I went, it was super busy. Which is to be expected - it's such a cute spot with the most gorgeous flowers. I ordered a dirty chai, grilled cheese, and tomato soup. They had a nice little menu for small eats and plenty of seating inside and outside. I loved, loved, loved being surrounded by flowers - which you can buy! They had quite a selection of bouquets, plants, and succulents. The atmosphere is beautiful, and it is a wonderful place to just grab a small bite with a friend and catch up. And if you just can not get enough of the beautiful flora, there is also a luscious community garden across the street, complete with a koi pond and a few seating areas. read more

Rosecrans has been on multiple lists as one of NYCs best coffee places, not just for their coffee but for their charm. The interior is beautiful, calming and charming as you are surrounded by plants. I loved this hidden coffee shop. Although the outside is on a busy corner, with the plants inside, you definitely could misinterpret the shop for being only a florist. You walk in, and on your left is active florist with a beautiful case of flowers to make you a custom bouquet. They made me an espresso at the counter and it was absolutely delicious. I sat outside (they have outside seating) and enjoyed my cup of coffee and did some work on my laptop. To my understanding they have food too? Recently they've removed a lot of the plants that made it a charming and unique spot, added more seats, segregated seating between wine bar/dining and cafe, removed the cafe menu on the wall and the pastries display, increased prices a lot, and showcased the wine on sale. It looks like they are trying to monetize by converting mostly to a wine bar. It's nice for that but not nearly the magical flower-shop/cafe hybrid that it used to be. read more

ATMOSPHERE: Love the atmosphere primarily, w the space sharing an actual florist, such a great idea. Whole place is cozy and filled w plants and flowers. Also they actually have a restroom! Small circle tables, and with some outdoor seating too. Great corner windows for best people watching of the bustling Greenwich/West Village. Type of people come in for conversations, watercolor paint and doodle, good spot for reading a book. Music is good, it's a relaxed mix of classic rock? But thankfully nothing crazy. A very cool concept, flower shop and coffee stop combined! Gorgeous interior, I was obsessed and definitely could see myself reading a book and relaxing in the beautiful atmosphere. Unfortunately very small as many places in NYC are so you may not find seating right away or find yourself very cramped. The barista was also not very friendly and I really really did not like my $8 chaga latte, I would highly recommend to NOT get that drink. I'm sure the other drinks are great, just not that one lol. read more

This is a review for the florist part only. I am all for supporting local businesses over big stores, but it's hard to justify when the product simply doesn't last. On Sunday I bought a $65 bouquet from Rosecrans (came out to over $80 with tip). It's Wednesday morning and the entire bouquet is wilting. My home is a decent temperature and I've changed the water. Also on Sunday, a friend of mine bought me flowers from Trader Joes and they are lovely. They look much better and -- I know from experience frequently buying TJ's flowers -- are less than a quarter of the price. I guess I was naive to think that paying more for nice flowers would have them last longer. Honestly, go to the TJ's down the street, take the plastic off, wrap them in paper and you are good to go. read more

One of my favorite coffee shops in the West Village. I would recommend to everyone except those who are allergic to flowers given the fact that it doubles as a flower shop & there are flowers (and some succulents) everywhere. There's a few tables available throughout the shop--I was able to find a table right across from the refrigerated section where the flowers are kept. The menu contains not only drinks but also food in case you want a small bite to eat. They take card/Apple Pay, and they'll deliver your food/drinks to your table. You can, of course, get drinks to go though. Overall, a cute/vintage coffee shop that has great floral arrangements and is a lovely place to visit especially on a rainy day. read more

I've also grabbed iced teas, lemonades and random treats on occasion and have never been disappointed. They usually have a gluten free option or two in their baked goods case too, which is nice. My friend and I passed this place on our way to lunch and we decided to come here afterwards because the sight of the plants caught our eye and how pretty it looked from the outside. We came back around 6pm for some drinks and when we went inside, the set up was honestly so beautiful and all the flowers and plants they had was so complimenting. I definitely would recommend this place if you wanted to take some nice pictures with a background of flowers. The staff members there were so helpful and nice as well! We ordered a hot cider and an earl grey lavender tea. The earl grey lavender tea was surprisingly refreshing and you could taste both the earl grey and lavender distinctly. I definitely loved this drink and it was perfect for how cold it was outside. The hot cider was super good and flavorful with just the right amount of sweetness. The drinks came super quick and it was really hot when it was given to us. The only thing stopping this review from being 5 stars was that there really wasn't any seating inside for us to seat in and keep warm on this cold day and to sit down and chat. However, we were able to sit outside for a little bit before leaving and the drinks kept us pretty warm. But overall, this place had a variety of drinks to offer and the place was so pretty that I would come by again for its atmosphere and drinks! read more

Randomly walked into Rosecrans this afternoon. GENIUS concept to hybrid a coffee house and a florist - synergistic perfection in my opinion. I ordered a matcha late with oat milk and it was fine. 2 things to note (not necessarily cons): first, be aware that seating room is limited. Second, this is a laptop free space. Service is on the more relaxed end of the spectrum, so this is not the place to stop by for your morning cup of coffee when you're late to work. Hidden gem for sure! read more

Every time I walked past this store, I thought it was just a plant shop. And then I saw a very clear sign that said coffee beer wine, so I came inside and viola. A coffee shop that sells plants I've seen a few of these kind of coffee shops in Brooklyn, but not on this side of town until this place. It's gorgeous. To me, plants = aesthetics so it was just a nice space to be in. The scenery is what bumped this place from a 3 to a 4. The coffee was OKAY. Not the best latte but not the worst either. They have a bathroom which is a plus, especially for a small space like this. The people behind the bar were funny and kind. I'd come back on a different day and give em another shot. Maybe order a matcha instead. Laptop free space inside. No wifi. Plenty of seating outside.
