All you wanted to do was take a leak and next thing you know your getting written up by Officer Johnson (see what I did there?) for a misdemeanor. Well cast those worries aside because....drum roll please! They have porta-potties!!! Phew! Exciting isn't it? Oh Coon Rapids Soccer Complex, you really are the best. And to think some people think soccer is boring. They're all philistines I tell ya. (Pssssst! Super secret inside scoop alert!) They are EXTREMELY patient and will bend over backwards to work with you to get the right equipment and get it to fit. Their prices are competitive with other stores and the internet plus the added bonus of truly amazing service. Another huge benefit of going there is that if you buy skates there you get free sharpening for life. At the typical $5 a sharpening that is quite a benefit. And they do a really good job a sharpening skates. Excellent repair work too on equipment.

Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but otherwise, this is an awesome and super unique business!

It may seem expensive to set up a team, but when you consider how much it actually costs per person to play, and for how long, it's actually not bad at all. (When else would you ever actually get a ton of people together to play any sport on a regular basis?) They also offer individual registration for individuals and small groups of people who don't have a full team so that everyone can play. I should also mention that they offer happy hour specials at participating bar(s) every year for some post-game refreshments. I highly recommend!!!

MTA has consistently put out teams that clearly only care about winning and not about player…read moredevelopment. I've seen many times the coaches belittle players on the field and be disrespectful to the opposing team and coaches and even the parents. Worse yet is the players are being taught this way. Recently I witnessed one of the teams playing extremely dirty giving extra shoves off the ball, cursing at the opposing players so the ref can't hear it, and deliberately try to hurt the opposing team. When the coach was confronted about it after the game the coach told the parent "to get away from them" and as the parent walked away the coach was waving goodbye to the parent in a mocking way. Even the players started to get involved by mockingly waving and saying "goodbye". I've never seen a team with such lack of respect for the opposing team. Soccer is not just about building better soccer players but building kids for life. I am sure glad my kids don't play for them.

I had the privilege to go watch my nephew play soccer at the health fairview dome. I always thought…read moreabout what's inside of the dome, and thought maybe it's like the other dome in other cities for indoor sporting events. Lots of parking spaces, someone greeted us at the main entrance. I think there may have had a class there. Follow the signs to the dome until you get to the tent like walkway that will get to the turning door. Once inside you'll just have to find where your team is playing and have a seat on the fake grass.

The fields themselves tend to get pretty beat up with how much they are used but for the most part, the NSC does an admirable job at keeping up with them. There is no denying the fact that it is tough to get a field in town because of how soccer has taken off and kids usually get the priority so having access to this for our league is appreciated. CATERING and Event Center Besides the soccer and hockey (which I cannot review), the NSC also has a fine event center which can be catered by outside vendors. We celebrated our soccer clubs 50th anniverary and they were super helpful. Parking is fantastic and the staff were super helpful. The only complaint I heard was that the older members wanted a wood dance floor for the polka band we had rented : )

Such a great experience for game day! Nestled across the highway from mac-groveland, this was an…read moreepic experience. It was easy to park on the streets for free, and many others did as well to avoid the parking lot fee at the stadium. They had a pre-game party on the lawn which was so fun! There were samples of beverages, games, and plenty of information booths. There are multiple entrances to head into the stadium. The stadium was epic! There is a huge Brewhall on one end of it, which was incredible, and they had lots of other food stations as well to choose from. We enjoyed the cheese curds! Lots of shops as well to get some gear. Evening games are gorgeous as the sun is setting just past the stadium. There is truly not a bad seat in the stadium! We were high up, but it was good so we were able to see the whole field. Staff were friendly and helpful too. Lots of fun chants to yell during the game, and of course waving your towel! Quite a crowd getting out of there but many traffic guards to help. Definitely worth a try!

I grabbed a free clear bag from Hyundai. We also checked out the kids playground area on the east side of the stadium. Loved it. Great for kids to get the wiggles out before heading into the stadium. The game was full of excitement. We sat behind the north side goal tender area. I did a nice lap around the stadium, grabbed drinks, ice cream and a souvenir for the kiddo. The only negative for me was one of the refs that had some very bad calls and the bugs. It was very buggy, I felt itchy quite often and maybe because they are constantly watering the grass so it's the only place the bugs are attracted to in the area since it's been so dry.
