It would be quite pleasant to look around but it is so cramped. Don't go here with a push chair - you may never be seen again! You could be sucked into the vortex of shoppers and goods which creates a vacuum, making the exit seem further and further away. Seriously, it is small and jam packed, but well worth looking. They have some beautiful linen.

Toiletries are also very cheap in here and they stock their own range too which are also good value. Christmas time in here is amazing great chioce of christmas decorations and top toys for all ages at great prices.. Avoid the pick and mix though can be addictive. Queing can be fun in here so dont leave wilkinsons as your last minute shop to visit as you will get annoyed

Wilkinsons has a cluttered feel to it, but it's worth walking through the clutter as you get some good bargains each time you visit. There are plenty of tills available which are qute slim in width making it slightly difficult to manouvre pushchairs through. The staff are always helpful however and make the experience an easy one.

This is a nursery run by people who love plants…read more Everyone who works here has a learning difficulty, and this gives them a living. There are two or three dotted around the area. All the plants are very well cared for and nicely presented, and there are also some garden ornaments. The prices are just a little bit high, but well worth it.

They do some unusual plants for coastal areas as well as all the usual plants you would expect and at less cost than most garden centres!

Clocks to door mats, kettles and seeds. I used to pop in here a lot for the odd nail or seeds, but I frequent it much less now as it seems they've become a bit grouchy about returning items or exchanging. And last time I did go in I stood waiting at the empty counter for too long. Nonetheless, this is one of the oldest family run shops in Poole and extremely useful.

A Really Useful Shop!…read more This is almost a hardware store, but it's not quite. Neither is it a discount store - indeed you can pay over the odds. But if you've looked everywhere else for something, then you may well find it there. We just got a wind up/solar (laugh out loud)radio. I've been looking for one for a while to use in the garden now and then. A hard brush for the patio, half the price of the hardware store, and a soap filled washing up brush for when there's not much to wash up. They also do a range of garden tools, kitchen ware, household cleaning and phones and batteries etc. Their returns policy is not the greatest. Once I bought a ceramic casserole dish there. I could not grip the lid when it was hot, as oven gloves, tea towels, would not grasp the sunk in handle. I took it back. They refused to take it saying no one else had brought them back. Yhey offered me a credit note which I grugingly agreed to, knowing the thing was not fit for purpose. The proprietor called over an assistant to put the thing on the shelf or office or whatsit, and the young man enquired what was wrong. I told him. He lifted the casserole and tried to lift the lid - it slid from his fingers to the floor with a smashing smash. I had the punchline -'I think that illustrates my point!'.

However there is a huge gap in the children aged 8-15! Virtually nothing! They've also started stocking keyrings and fluffy toys, and similar bit and bobs. So it's well worth a good snoop around if you are looking for a present or something like that. Next time I go in there, I must ask about the older children - after all, mine loves reading.
