I like the layout and the product displays, it is a pleasure to meander around. There is an excellent range of plants, always healthy as they are also a nursery. There is a wide range of gifts both ornamental and useful gardening gifts, books, garden sundries, bird feeders & some clothing. There are some really good value offers. At Christmas they have an array of products from trees to festive napkins and in the summer a wonderful diplay of furniture, BBQs and accessories. The coffee shop does breakfast, lunch & teas but can get busy. The staff are friendly & more than helpful. There is a wonderful walk in the grounds, a little map is provided. Plenty of parking. A building section with sheds & summer houses is on site and they also do landscaping & garden maintenance but I have never used these services.

There is also a gift shop and various workshops throughout the day for the workers. All the work undertaken is voluntary. I was enjoying working here one day a week in 2006. It has certainly improved since they first took it…read moreover, when it opened it was a bit chaotic with goods piled everywhere but it is now reasonably well laided out. There is a large showroom with cane furniture just outside the main building. The plants are not particularly good and overpriced for the quality, although in fairness the standard is improving. They have a good range of BBQs, garden furniture, paving & fencing along with some other gardening sundries. There is a section of greeting cards, a small selection of crafts and another area for gifts. I think they may buy up liquidated and surplus stock as well buying in from regular wholesalers. There are real bargains here but beware not everything is discounted. Do some research before you go if your are intending to spend a lot of money. We treated ourselves to a new BBQ this year and saw it on show here for over £200 more than we paid. There is a small cafe that sells cakes & light lunches. The food is basic but very nice & prices very reasonable. There is plenty to see here so give yourself time to look around. It is housed in huge greenhouses & although they have installed blowers it is unbearably hot in the summer. Staff are always friendly. Lots of parking. On the A341, at the traffic lights, opposite the showground. Originally a reasonable nursery, that expanded over the years, but was bought by Superbuys a few years ago.

The garden centre itself does not come across as being that friendly, there are signs everywhere - no dogs, no cycles in the garden centre (who would ride their bike through there), children should be well supervised, no climbing on the fence, etc etc. I did not find the service that friendly in the shop to be honest. However, all that aside if you fancy a little trip out to the country for a nice cup of coffee and a wander through the plants then it's worth a visit. It doesn't get five stars as they could improve their over all service in the garden centre - the coffee shop is very lovely and welcoming.

Situated in a large log cabin style building, the staff were friendly and the coffee and cake extremely tasty. This is a nursery run by people who love plants…read more Everyone who works here has a learning difficulty, and this gives them a living. There are two or three dotted around the area. All the plants are very well cared for and nicely presented, and there are also some garden ornaments. The prices are just a little bit high, but well worth it.

They do some unusual plants for coastal areas as well as all the usual plants you would expect and at less cost than most garden centres!
