The first time that Kiley did my hair, I knew she would be my new stylist. I had a disappointing experience here, unfortunately…read more I'd been considering a few places to get my hair cut, and I decided on Chance & Taylor solely because they offered the most affordable service. I knew that budget pricing likely meant a lower-quality haircut, but I'm not very particular when it comes to my hair, so I booked an appointment. The experience was as I'd expected (very similar to a Great Clips or another average barber), but when I went up to pay, they informed me that they'd increased their prices by over 30% but hadn't updated their website. They showed me a small pile of pamphlets on the opposite side of the check-in counter that listed the updated prices, but most customers don't look for pamphlets when they check in--they simply say that they're here and take a seat. Unfortunately, they acknowledged their mistake but weren't willing to honor their online advertised prices that had convinced me to give the place a try, so I ended up paying what the salons I was considering visiting charged but received a less-than-salon experience. I wish Chance & Taylor had more of an emphasis on transparent pricing for customers who book online or based on the website's claims. I understand that mistakes happen, but having your customers bear the consequences doesn't seem right to me.
