I decided to cut (most) of it off! So, I asked some of my mom friends who they went to for their hair and one friend raved about Danielle at LOX. Well, there's already your first indication right there. I didn't just pick Danielle out of phone book (well, who does that these days anyway? Do they even make phone books anymore?). She was recommended. So here is your second endorsement! First of all, book an appointment on their website! It was the easiest hair appointment I have ever booked and I didn't talk to anyone. Very convenient when you have small children who won't let you talk on the phone. Anyway, easy peasy and you get a confirmation via text or email and reminders closer to the appointment too! The studio is in the complex just before the YMCA in Richmond Hill. As soon as you turn (just before the highway), after the bend, as soon as you see buildings, turn in and the studio is one of the first doors. There is plenty of parking. The complex has a lot. They have a small reception area in the front and then a small hallway leads you to the work space. I believe there are 3 hairstylists total. The decor is very modern chic. Danielle herself is a stunning lady, beautiful and stylish and of course, her hair was on point! That was very reassuring, kinda like when you show up to your first session with a personal trainer and you're like, yeah, I want a body like that! She took the time to listen to my 5 different ideas and eventually, she advised me on one that she thought would look good on me. She also told me of an organization, Children with Hair Loss that they work with that provide human hair replacements at no cost to children and young adults who are faced with medically related hair loss. I was able to donate 12 inches of my hair and I'm so glad I was able to do that, so if you are cutting off a good chunk, make sure you let her know before she starts! Also, lastly, she is super affordable! Great price for amazing work! I went back with both my kids. I had to test the waters with me first, LOL. She was great with both girls (and she's equipped too, with booster seat for the chair and Angry Bird/Pink apron-thingy-ma-jigs or whatever you call that thing is draped over you, you know?! To let the hair slide off?!...Mommy brain! My oldest was just over the moon when she curled it after the cut. She said she felt so pretty! Danielle also offered the kids lollipops at the end of each of their visits. She definitely won them over with that. Smart lady! Book now. She books up fast!

I called and spoke with the owner to see if they did passion twists and how much it would be. She asked me the length I wanted, and I told her 22 inches long. She then quoted me a price of $180. I texted her back to find out what type of hair I would need she did not respond until 2 days before my appointment. I could not get the hair by then, so I got the type of hair from a different maker. I will get to the point. The first issue was that she complained that the hair was difficult to use, but she started doing my hair anyway until another braider arrived. She then let the new braider continue where she left off. She asked me about the length after two rolls of twisting it short and big. I told her I asked for them to be 22 inches long and she started making them longer. The new braider was very rough on my head, and I am not sensitive to getting my hair done. The new braider also complained about the hair. When she finally finished my hair, I had kinky twists and bald edges that I did not see until I pulled my hair up into a ponytail on my cruise for my birthday. Also, when I paid her the $180, she looked offended, but I explained that was the price I was quoted. She turned to the owner who told me that because I had gotten a longer length it would be $20 more. I was upset but I paid the money and left. Had I known that the braider had pop my edges off I would not have paid the extra money because she never informed me of what happened. I would not return and I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone because these people are obviously only out to make money and do not care about being unethical in their business practices. Oh and my braids started coming out within the week of me getting my hair done. I will post some pictures!
