I don't usually like to give restaurants a bad review but when too many things don't go right or the food quality is questionable then I feel like it's necessary. The pickup time of 20-25 minutes was reasonable due to it being a busy Friday. Got home and started to unpack order just to realize that I was missing my spring rolls . Crab Rangoon's were decent. The problem is when I got to my food. I ordered the Chicken with Broccoli. The taste was off or not good but then there were several occasions where I kept finding a "Gelatinous" type texture in my food which I didn't enjoy but I ignored the instance and thought it was just a fluke until it happened a 2nd and 3rd time and then I was done with the food. I had to throw it out because not only did it taste off now I was questioning what was all the Gelatinous stuff in it. The chili oil that I put on it also didn't help. It tasted rancid or industrial. Just a very weird and unpleasant taste. For this reason I will not be trying this restaurant again. read more

The absolute worst Asian food I have ever eaten in my life. The lady at the front had no clue what was going on. Did not serve me my food. I had to come up to the front to get it. Turns out she got it back for me and didn't know I wanted to eat and didn't even ask just assumed and then I had to come back for a fourth because she didn't even put a fork in there. We're relatively new customers. My wife is a vegan and likes the spicy tofu and the spicy eggplant. I have tried several dishes and it's either hit or miss. The curry shrimp and the Szechuan beef are good. Another positive about RG is that the food is not leaking all over the bag by the time you get home like some other places that I won't mention (Ahem...EF Chinese). I ordered Seafood Delight tonight and in the past ordered shrimp with lobster sauce and both had imitation crab in it. Imitation crab really? It's just all carbs! Saw several reviews about this place and decided to give it a try. Covid prevention in full display upon arrival. Main dining room completely closed off behind a floor to ceiling curtain. Kitchen completely protected behind a counter to ceiling plexiglas shield. Checking in with the last 4 digits of my cell the clerk slides my bill out thru a small opening in the plexiglas and I use my cc to pay for the meal. Then when my order is ready (right away I might add) she points to the bag sitting behind a window in the plexiglas. They have placed the prepared meal in a cubicle where it now between a closed window in the kitchen and a closed window in the waiting area. I raise the window in the waiting area and take my order, closing the window afterwards. I must say they've raised the bar on social distancing. Now to the food. We ordered a couple of egg rolls, pork fried rice, Szechuan pork, General Tso's Chicken and Happy Family, the last 2 off the Chef's Specials. I must say we were impressed with all of these dishes. The pork was spicy as expected, the Happy Family consists of lobster, shrimp, chicken, beef, pork and mixed vegetables. The dish surprised us as there was 1/2 a small lobster tail in the dish. Haven't experienced that since eating at a Chinese restaurant in NYC's China Town in the '80s. Very tasty and I had to 'work' a little to extract the lobster meat which added to the experience. The General Tso's Chicken was excellent. Lightly breaded as advertised and in a delicious sweet and spicy sauce. Yum . The pork fried rice was perfectly prepared and as usual in Chinese restaurants a large side of white rice came with the order. Well done Rose Garden. read more

This is always my go-to Chinese restaurant. I'm crazy about their Mongolian Beef and Kung Pao Chicken. Their spring rolls are flavorful and nice and crispy. The Potstickers are cooked to perfection...never under or overcooked and also very flavorful. The only downside is they can be inconsistent. As much as I love their main dishes, there are times when it's beyond delicious and other times, although still delicious, it will have something missing or not enough of. One time I had to drive back to the store for a return because they put way too much starch on the Kung Pao Chicken & it tasted like dog food. I called the restaurant before returning and the girl on the phone said that's how that dish is made! I tried to tell her it's not supposed to have a funky outside, doughy crisp and she argued yes all KPC has that. So I went there myself to show them and the manager just grabbed the returned bag and quickly issued a credit then walked away. That experience hasn't deterred me from eating there though. The phone girl was clearly working in a place where she was unknowledgeable and the Mgr is just that way...all business, no fluff or chit chat. I have never found a great Chinese restaurant in Albuquerque. But I was pleasantly surprised with how good Rose Garden is. It is just for take-out but well worth it when you don't feel like cooking. I was also impressed with how clean they were and with their Covid practices. This will be my new "go to" whenever I need a Chinese food fix. read more

This take out has been decent to good in the past, but tonight we ordered two Kid's menu items (which we've had in the past) and food was barely edible (most went into the trash!!!!). When I called to tell them what was wrong, I was told ":That's what we gave you, so that's it." Orange chicken with barely a flavor of orange was explained away as "Well there was an orange on it wasn't there". Does this REALLY MEAN IT TASTED LIKE ORANGE SAUCE ON CHICKEN? Everything about this restaurant is perfect for my family. My mom grew up in New York and ate really good Chinese food all the time as a kid. She compares all Chinese food to that, so it's no small thing to say that she was very pleased with our experience. It's especially wonderful considering we just moved to the area, so this is a very close eating option for us. The waitress Taylor was very helpful, intuitive, and had a good sense of humor with us. The food was really delicious, the vegetables were perfectly cooked, the presentation was really beautiful, and the prices are incredible. They have a takeout or a dine in option, which is convenient if you're on the go. I suspect we will become regulars. read more

Another late night at the hospital and Rose Garden was THE place for takeout on the way home. I can't say enough about the freshness of their ingredients and flavor. The pork lo mein didn't have the oily taste others do and the chicken cashew has just the perfect mix of vegetables that were crisp not overcooked.
