I was referred to her from my childhood doctor's office after he passed away. It's safe to say I was her patient for 10 years plus. Then one day I called to make an appointment and I was told I was dropped from het practice,along with everybody else who was her patient . No notice , No referral,No nothing!She decided to move on . Great staff with quick response as time when needed. Dr. Paiva is very kind and thorough when giving evaluations and recommendations.

Rose has been my doctor for the past 11 years. One year ago we have a conversation about what practicing heath care was like for her. She explained to me that practicing heath care was not like anything she ever imagined. She was trapped into a system that would only allow her to spend x amount of time with clients and often felt over booked. She change her practice so she could be the doctor she always dreamed about of being. Dr. Pivia is very passionate about heath care in and many aspects of it. Like preventative care, accountability, fallowing up and annual testing. If you have a chronic problem she will not only treat you she will personalize your care so you can live your life to the fullest and feel your best. There are not many doctors the willing to take a stand for health care and not be bullied insurance companies. She has condense a 2k patient case load to to 300. I feel like she best doctor anyone could ever wish for. I can call or text her anytime of the day. If hospitalize all information and treatments go through her. If I am ill and can get if of bed she will make a home visit. If I am traveling she will send me to a doctor or have one come to my hotel if needed. I hate to do a 1-star...but I have to. My PA is gone and Dr. Paiva is turning her practice into one of those elitist groups, oops, "Wellness Plans" practices. The short story to a wellness plan practice is that you pay for your normal health insurance which she will bill, AND, on top of that you will now pay her an additional $1,600 per year. Meanwhile, your insurance company will also pay her. It's supposed to be for more "one-on-one" time with the Doctor. Give me a break, it's all about the money. I never needed additional time with the PA. She saw me the same day that I called, diagnosed conditions with competence and she was personable. Each time I went, they charged $200 to my insurance and guess what? The insurance paid! Crazy, I know! In my 4-5 years of going here, I had never met Dr. Paiva, and I have no intention of changing that now. There is a shortage of general doctors in the area and making this a "pay to play" environment is just going to compound that problem. I have fantastic health insurance, I shouldn't need to pay an additional $1,600 each year that doesn't apply to my deductible and doesn't go towards any additional services. I could not be happier that I found Dr. Paiva. She is literally a God send. Since moving to Reno 10 years ago, I've gone through two different primary care physicians. I never really like either of the ones I went to and I hated to wait to see them. Dr. Paiva's office is different. Not only is Dr. Paiva amazing, but her staff is great too! Dr. Paiva's office is very modern..it feels a lot like a medical spa...very clean and calming. The office does not overbook...therefore, you don't have to wait forever in the waiting room to see the doctor. They require that you are there on time so they don't run behind...I know some people may complain about that, but I really like it. There's noting worse than waiting in a waiting room when you're on time! Dr. Paiva takes time with you and is very thorough. She listened to all my concerns at our first appointment. She immediately ordered a panel of blood work and an ultrasound of my thyroid gland. She noticed that my gland was a bit swollen (no other doctor has ever mentioned that). After getting the blood work and ultrasound done, I met with her again. She thoroughly went over all my labs and gave me a treatment plan (and a re-check of labs in 6 months). Unfortunately, she had to send me to a surgeon since the ultrasound detected a mass in my gland. I was a bit freaked out but she was amazing and gave me both the best case scenario and worst case scenario. I couldn't recommend her more! read more

Leslie Pace is wonderful but the receptionist Summer is constantly rude. Will go through your medical records if you refuse to tell her what you want to see Leslie for and flat out told me that she would do this. Does not give damn for HEPA laws. I have never been treated so awfully than by Summer. Only reason I stayed is finding doctor as good as Leslie Pace was too hard. Finally had to go due to my insurance. The office manager is even worse. In 8 years going to this office I only was able to see the actual Doctor ONCE. The whole time Dr. Paiva was attempting to listen to my breathing she was talking?! The whole office is geared toward Botox. Highly recommend NOT GOING HERE!! read more

I saw Dr. Pavia for years. I find her to be quite sharp and to have good bedside manner. Out of all of my visits to her, never once did her nurse smile at me. I Would love to still be her patient, but she moved across town, into a complex where no one can find her office. I think this is just another case of good Dr. Bad location, and really rude staff!!! read more

I visited this dr for about 4 years.. never felt confident that she cared for my health. Just asked a few questions on each visit and wrapped it up. Their back office staff are horrible. Especially accountant and nurse practitioners. read more

I only gave one star because it wouldn't let me give zero... The receptionist is always extremely rude. I was told that I would receive a call back on several occasions, never got called back. I do not recommend going to a doctors office, where they don't care about their patients... In fewer words. This office sucks. read more

I love Dr. Paiva. My prior doctor of 15 years left the Reno area. I briefly saw a Renown doctor who made me feel like a whiny jerk when I saw her regarding an usual weight gain, horrible fatigue etc. She told me it was all due to my age. Not only did that piss me off, but I would not accept that diagnosis. So I switched to Dr. Paiva. Within 15 minutes Dr. Paiva knew I had a tumor, either adrenal or brain/pituitary. She nailed it! And her care has been outstanding. I joined the MDVIP at $1,600. Per year and I'm glad I did. I not only need the extra attention, but all of the additional testing is pretty fabulous and I've discovered areas I need to work on. I doubt my insurance would cover the additional testing so I'm happy to pay for it. You can't put a price on your health or a great doctor. read more

Stay tuned for the real story concerning my family's termination after over 15 years with the doctor. She dosen't even know the real story. Her office manager Christine, deleted the emails I sent the doctor, and stopped my ability to leave messages for the doctor. My son who is disabled and myself, have suffered grievously without a family physician. I went through open heart surgery without a doctor. Our health still suffers badly today. Guess they want to play beauty shop more than practice medicine. Much more lucrative I'm sure. Oh here's the latest, if you would like to see the doctor, you can pay $1600 a year, for regular check ups etc. WOW what a deal Don't all of us already pay premiums, co pays and deductibles for insurance we have to have. Some people like myself pay for 2 insurances. In all reality Dr. Paiva is one of the best, most forward thinking physicians I have known and I've known quite a few, dealing with disabled adults. That's another thing, my son who is disabled did nothing to be terminated. Christine and I got off on a bad foot and never recovered. More about that later. I have known lots of Dr in the Reno Tahoe area and was introduced to Dr Paiva by Dr Hall & Wrye and boy do I thank them. Dr P is just great she takes her time and asks lot of questions. I have been a long time patient. I drove 6 hour round trip to see this dr. I arrived at my appointment 20 minutes early. I was told to come 10 minutes early to update annual paperwork. Sitting in the parking lot. Needed a bathroom bad. Knocked on the door and called. They just looked at me. No luck. Ran to the nearest business with a bathroom. Professional staff--front and back of office. Dr. Paiva was very thorough in explaining procedure to me. Didn't rush thru my questions--patiently answered and addressed all my concerns. Office is extremely clean and staff is professional and kind. Highly recommend for internal medicine and for skin/cosmetic procedures as well. She and her staff very obviously understand women's needs and concerns. Will be back! read more

Another hard review to write.......I have been coming to Rose since I was 18. She is great, easy to talk to, intelligent and down to Earth. The office staff...eh...their OK. Sometimes rude, arrogant, but I can deal with that to get to the good stuff. The other day I called to make an appt and was told my info couldn't be found. Come to find out if you haven't been to her office in 2 years your dropped as a patient. WTH? She then tells me that I am considered a new patient and that their office is NOT accepting new patients. Sorry have a nice day! I tell her that I am pretty upset to hear this and explained that I recently had a son and was under the care of an obstetrician and within that time Dr Paiva's services were not needed. Sorry, BUHBYE! I then emailed Rose personally to explain my situation and that I wanted to be HER patient. The following day I get a call from another office gal. I explain my frustration that when I need my Dr, I didn't have her. As we ALL know, getting established with another Dr's office, it's a few months out before you can get there. I needed to see her for pain I am experiencing in my abdomen area soon. I ask why a letter, a text something stating that I no longer had a Dr. was sent? She tells me that this is customary at ALL Drs office, no office communicates that, your supposed to just know that. You also need to go in and see them every year for a wellness appt. I ask, in addition to my annual "woman" appt. Yes. She says that I need to "upkeep" myself and to remain established as patient. HHHMMM. I have never heard this.....is it just me or do a lot of people see their general Dr every year for no reason???? I get Drs have tons of patients and can't keep everyone, but no warning, REALLY? DO NOT CALL! I was looking for a civilian Physician after years at the VA. I called to schedule a new patient appointment and was attacked because I take high blood pressure, arthritis and diabetes medicines. The woman who answered went off about controlled substances. I told her if she had a problem with high blood pressure meds then I would continue my civilian Doctor search. She said I could see the nurse but never the doctor. Well I found a civilian doctor who will see me. It will be a month to see the doctor but I've been going to the VA so a month is better than normal. If you have high blood pressure, arthritis and/or diabetes DO NOT CALL this doctor office as you may be attacked also. No one should be subjected to this from a civilian doctor. read more
