This was my second time at Rose City Comic Con, and this time I went with my mom, who's in her 60s. One of the things I love most about Rose City Comic Con is that it truly welcomes everyone, people of all ages, genders, and personalities. Everyone is friendly, and the staff are helpful and approachable. My mom who was so reluctant to going to this event, having thought that it was only for young people, had amazing time there and still talks about the event. There are lots of popular guests, as well as many up and coming comic artists and sellers, which makes exploring the con really fun. Food options inside are limited and lines were long, but there are plenty of nearby places to eat outside the venue. read more

I was very grateful to win a three day badge for the con and so excited to go. I nearly fainted as to how much it is to park anywhere (genuinely, it would have been cheaper to take a Lyft/Uber to and from versus the nearly $30 parking per day. Having a tiny car is so great - especially as that means I get to park where no one else can fit. The frustration, however was that I was able to park within the same block of the front entrance into the Convention Center. FYI - the supposed ADA entrance is on the far corner of the building away from the elevators (it opens to the top floor). Guest services is on street level (middle floor) which is where you have to pick up Motorized carts and wheelchairs. I hope, for your sake, you do not feel the challenges of us with chronic pain or tissue issues that the barometer increase. Things do not bend right, swell and just ache when I am stationary so I try to plan everything ahead of time. I also dread large buildings since just walking in to get to the motorized cart is a lot. I do not have a team of people who can lift a wheelchair in and out of my car or the money for all the foldable things since as our bodies break down, our wallet also does. My ADA ass and cane had to walk UP the hill to the middle entrance and beg a worker to walk me in past the crowd (to not walked the back and forth gauntlet just to get to the door). I then had to walk all the way the length of the building and around a bend to get to the small elevator to go down and then walk around and back to get to guest services to claim my wheelchair. I nearly collapsed at the counter and I do have to say that the folks throughout who were working and at guest services - they are and were amazing. Flat out a lot of the people who work at the center said that a lot of their coworkers were complaining because the con had made it very challenging for them with their ADA needs. I only got the pass a week before so I missed reserving a motorized cart but those sweet guest service people got me in on a cancellation for days 2 and 3. It is too bad the damage was done. I had to leave early and I was in horrific pain for days from all the stress. Genuinely just knowing that to get to that motorized cart would be that long painful journey.... I guess I will just have to look at photos. read more

Rose City Comic Con is always so much fun! I feel like the crowds were more manageable this year, allowing for a little personal space. I've felt very very claustrophobic in the past. I enjoyed the wide range of entertainment available. I loved the Weird Portland United stage with a rotating lineup of performers. Bagpiping 101 by the Unipiper was my favorite! There were very few food options available, and the lines to wait for what was available were just too long. I would have stayed longer if I'd had a few more options. read more

They had different activities going, along with the celebrities- a little spendy for my taste to get a signature and/or picture, but it was cool to observe from afar. I had the opportunity to attend comic con due as I was given a three day pass. I attended both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was very overwhelming but also a lot to see. Sunday was more tame. I am not a huge comic nerd, I am a nerd in other ways which is cool. Anyway, it was fun to see all the cool costumes that people wore. The artist at the convention had fun and unique things to buy. You could even get a tattoo there! The parking was a huge pain and hated that I had to pay $25/day when I only stayed a few hours each day. Overall, it was a fun event to attend and would have enjoyed more if I was into comics I believe. read more

Our first time ever attending a comic-con and it was so FUN. The costumes were incredible and really detailed loved seeing my fellow sapiens having such fun immersed as their favorite characters. Tons of original merchandise for sale. The panels and guest speakers were great Sean Astin was my fave. The food was very sparse and we paid $6 for a bottle of water (talk about inflation sheesh) Lots and lots of photo ops. The Star Wars experience had the "cast" of Star Wars doing photo shoots with guests as they entered Leia was so sweet. Love my pic! We will try to attend comic con regularly now. So much fun! The event is huge, we came on Sunday and enjoyed every bit of it. We will be back next year on Sunday because we found quite a few vendors that had everything on sale trying to get rid of their stuff. Of course you risk that Was not getting the right size or what you want, but it was still so good! The cosplay is incredible, that is one of my most favorite parts. Such a fun event. Thousands of people coming together to look at Comic and anime. I think the costumes are the best. In addition, there's so much creative people here who are selling beautiful stickers and posters and artwork. Compared to Comic Con in San Diego, there's more originality and more costumes that are not the mainstream characters. This year's 40 year anniversary and that talk was so awesome read more

My first time at RCCC and I had a blast! Didn't know what to expect, but I had a great experience even if I was by myself. I was always able to snag a seat at the front for the panel events. Wandering the exhibit halls with an assortment of vendors was a little overwhelming, but I was entertained seeing all of the amazing cosplay! The Oregon Convention Center was well-equipped to handle an event like RCCC. I actually like that this is a smaller event (compared to the SDCC, for example). I appreciated the pockets of areas where I could decompress and take breaks in between scheduled events. Major props to the event organizers! Each event started and ended on time and the panel hosts were entertaining. Of course, my most favorite part of RCCC was getting up close and personal with the special guests and learning a ton!!! My friend and I went and had a great time. Went on a Saturday. Ive been to other local comic con in Portland in the past but I woukd say this is probably the biggest one Ive seen in Portland Region. We had a good time and my friend wanted to play D&D which they had a room for players and I just wanted to explore to see what they have. Had a good time and the only negative I would say is the food and beverages are over priced. I wanted water but it was $6 :/ . But figured. Overall had a good time and enjoyed seeing everybody cos play. The goodies were there and other celebrities but of course you'll have to pay to get their autograph. I would check it out one time and see if you like it. Something to do and it was enjoyable. read more

This is my 2nd time at Rose City Comic Con and is has grown so much! There were vendors throughout and minimal repeating of items or goods. Also, it was nice to not see the same old things. It was clear many vendors were making items they loved and put good investment into them. The pricing from most was quite reasonable, even for it being a convention. The staff was very nice and helpful and there were a few stations throughout if one needed help with anything. I will say going on Sunday, while not getting to see almost everyone in costume, was very nice. There were still plenty of people and some really fun looks. As a person with issues with large groups, it was find. We were able to walk almost nonstop through the sections and there was plenty of room and seating throughout as needed. While I did not get any food, I will say the offerings were the "norm" for the convention center, eg their stales and not much else inside. There were a few candy vendors and the root beer taps but nothing either. Out front a few food trucks were parked, which was a nice change since the area is a food desert for sure. Parking was a bit of a pain, the convention center lots were all full by 10:50 (50 min after the opening). Which meant driving around to find a place. Previously we park at Lyon, but that is no longer an option. We did find a lot about 2 blocks away available, at a premium. Rose city has gotten big and better since our last visit and we can't wait for next year. read more

Now I know that this is my only experience at a comicon being that where I grew up comicon was so crazy expensive and over the top that I never really got the chance to go. Been here many times, and usually try and go a day or two when out schedule aligns. Now you can usually make it through the main hall in about 3 1/2 hours if you're at a normal pace. Realistically closer to five if you're going to take a break, get some food or spend more than a few minutes at your favorite stands. Add a few hours if you want to catch events and go around the lobby looking at costumes but also seminars and other things outside the main hall so really and truly plan a very full day if you want to try and see most things. This year we were lucky enough to go two days and able to fit more in! read more

This is always such a great event. They manage the amount of people pretty well and the actual venue setup is pretty people friendly. The only issue I ever run into is that the aisles are always a bit too narrow. There are a handful of restaurants and a couple coffee shops inside but expect prices like at the airport. There are a few parking lots nearby and some street parking. read more

I've been to rose city comic con several times and each time it's been worth the money and the time. I highly recommend a weekend pass as there's SO much to see. And I truthfully think it can't be done in one day!! (I take time off to go!) Artist ally is one of my favorites and has a wide variety of artists. You can easily spend hours browsing and shopping. Most vendors/artists do take Venmo/cash app but not all! I always make sure to have cash on hand just in case. One of the best things about going yearly is to see artists grow. I've seen some amazing start ups happen who now have made it big! Spending time talking with artists and getting signatures is a fun time and you'll often be surprised at the celebrities just walking through the con enjoying it as well. Re-entry is allowed and I highly recommend this. The food is nothing special so I often times pack a lunch and go down into the garage and eat in my car. I've also gone off site to one of the many local restaurants close by. You can dress up or go in what you'd wear day to day! There's tons of fandoms and even big appreciation for those who don't know what your comic con outfit is. read more

Wow...what an experience! This was my first experience at a comicon and it was definitely memorable. I have always thought of myself as a nerd, a geek, a freak and worn it as a badge of honor. But if I'm being honest, I'm not even close to being nerd, geek, or freak enough to be considered a comicon enthusiast! It is a whole 'nother level of nerdery...and I'm not even sure that word applies to all of the enthusiasts. From 50-year-old guys in decades old Star Wars costumes to young, pretty women in what I can only assume are anime characters...I have to admit...it is an interesting cross section of a culture that doesn't feel united...except for in their enthusiasm for pop culture entertainment. I'm not even sure if one would consider the latter a nerd...seriously, where were hot nerdy chicks when I was an awkward high school geek? What's more...I didn't really see an equivalently aged male that was cruising the scene to meet these girls. Had I known this...ugh...30 years ago. I would have gladly dressed up like Super Mario to make conversation :) Alas, here I am among the many families that see this as an opportunity to embrace their favorite comic, sci-fi, animated, video game characters and merchandise in the name of nostalgia. Cruising the grounds searching for their kids' favorite characters in the aforementioned Cosplay Culture that fuels this experience for those who only want to meet an actual real life Ahsoka...or sexy Velma. Apparently in this cosplay world, there is a preference for Sexy Nerd Velma and less for the Valley Hot Chick Daphne...at a ratio of 10:1! Nonetheless, in my opinion, the cosplay element was the best part of the entire event. It's mostly 'B' level actors (Ralph Macchio), or financially inaccessible borderline A listers (Zoe Saldana/Karen Gillian) where $350 will get you their autograph. There are interview opportunities and autograph sessions but I'm not the kind of person to be star struck so again, that wasn't my cup of tea. There are rooms set up with vintage video games (both arcade and console) ...those were fun to kick around and waste time at...playing classics like TMNT, Mario, Punch Out, the original Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. So much nostalgia! There was also a room set up with board games that I would love to have spent time with the family playing new games that we haven't been exposed to but with only a one-day pass, there really wasn't enough time to learn and play anything that involved. The marketplace was vast...overwhelming even! At least a thousand vendors peddling old toys, handmade crafts, gaming devices, a chance to join the military, and comics from across all of time! This place was massive and despite wandering around in here for a couple of hours...I'm confident we didn't see everything. I guess that's what next year is for! We thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience and no matter what your preference is in the wide world of nerd entertainment, there is something here for you... read more

Wow! This event was so much fun! I have never been to RCC before and was definitely impressed. There were so many different artist showcasing their beautiful art work and everyone dressed up as different characters. It was fun getting to see everyone's cosplay costumes and guessing who they were! Everywhere I looked there was something else to see or do. When you walk in you go through a security check line and then can go to the exhibit area to grab your day badge and just show it to get into the different exhibits. You could go see different celebs and grab a photo or signature which was super cool. My favorite part was walking around and checking out the different artwork, everything was so beautiful, each artist just a bit different! Plenty of places to grab a bite or snack. Also went by the Fudge shop of course. Had a great time and would highly recommend! read more

It's been a long 2020 with so many events cancelled. Happy to see Rose City Comic Con return in 2021 to welcome eager fans, cosplayers, gamers, artists, creators and authors. The amount of merchandise, posters, trinkets is overwhelming. The artist alley was full of talent, local legends and publishing powerhouses like Dark Horse were all present. In previous years I got to hear Stan Lee speak on stage but the amount of celebrity cancellations and fewer superstars in attendance was evident. Security checks were essential to check vaccine cards and bags. The line was way too long with only one person scanning a magnetic wand. The OCC parking lot was $15 for the day but there was no express lane to enter the event. It was a long slow process. Wifi wasn't available to check updates or use the RCCC and it was a hot day. The artist alley is always nice to visit. Didn't get to see as many megastars this year but reconnected with some of my favorites. The RCCC app worked well with wifi at home but when I got to the event my phone reception was blocked and had zero bars to connect. It made navigating to events, panels and finding favorite artists very challenging. I always wish there were more food options or food trucks available. There was a new Soda fountain stand that had long lines. Portland is such a foodie city. Why not invite local vendors? Overall this years event was a shadow of what it used to be. I'd suggest make more of an emphasis on comic creators , collectors and authors. The event has a lot of kid Jr. rooms and activities not related to comic con. I guess Kpop could make a debut in the future at RCCC based on their post event survey. It's not a good idea to cram all popular trends under one roof. The lack of focus was evident. Ive gone to many Cons, but this is my first for RCCC. Thanks to Yelp, I was able to have my first experience. We went on a Friday, which is a more low-key day and I think that is a good way to start off if you've never been to a con before. The game room opened 2 hours early! woo! So. Many. Games. wasnt too crowded to start off with and was a ton of fun. They had a rock climbing wall! I didnt get to use it, but how fun is that?! Cosplay is a huge part of any con and its such a fun thing to watch/do. Seeing people in character and in their element adds a whole new level to the experience. Plus makes for some great pictures. Many are simple and many are professional grade work! Very impressive and you can get some great tips and tricks! Artist ally is where people sell their art/items/souvenirs/etc, its a must go-to and youll find some of your favorite show/game/character based items. Its very creative. There are many panels you can go to, some are pretty cool others (like for celebrities) you have to wait and wait and wait in line. And wait some more. Look at the program and pick and choose the ones you really want to go to since it will take time for each one. There was a cool panel on cosplay and cons for people that are older and how things change/are different. As a young person thought it was an interesting take and what to look forward to. Im not sure what the rest of the weekend brought, but it looked like some interesting and fun panels. Bring food and water!! I always seem to forget this part.. you can bring your own snacks in and i high suggest it! They have food there and around the block, but expect lines and $$ Parking is really terrible. Uber or take the MAX. Just do it. Pay to park and you MIGHT get a spot in one of the nearby lots for $10-$20 or have to do 2 hour street parking and continuously pay to park. Its stressful and limited. Cell service/internet is also a dead zone. Super slow. Im not sure if its the building or amount of people. Like most cons ive been to- it is pretty crowded and people are spread out all over. Sitting in walk ways, laying in the halls. Understandable but also inconvenient when you have to step over peoples legs (which i feel rude doing) but also cant go around. Id go back if i got advance tickets for a better price with the hope things would be a little more organized. Overall its a fun experience and id suggest to go! But dress up, its more fun. read more

I was on the lookout for stationary and washi tape, but I couldn't find any. This con was more geared towards a mix of anime and American comics, but I didn't have too much interest in the American comics as much. Great first timer at this Comicon. Me and my long time partner took a trip to Portland and tried the Rose City Comic Con and it was fun and exciting. More and more games and collectables were on display. i purchased some comic books and shirts. Boy. All i can say is have your cash present at hand. Lots of expensive goodies. But its worth it if you really see something you like. Fandom and million of cosplay outfits are cool. Parking wasnt so bad, But they charge you for the whole day. A Review and Guide to RCCC with a Pre-Schooler YES, you can do RCCC with a pre-schooler, and both of you will have an absolute blast. A large area of the convention center was designated PlayFair, which was focused on families and kids. PlayFair access was included with with our basic RCCC tickets. In the PlayFair we found shows scheduled all day on the mainstage, family friendly booths/vendors, and one free Meet & Greet after another. My son's favorite M&Gs were Peppa Pig and PJ Masks. Our favorite stage show was put on by The Portland Puppet Museum; the show was built around classic pop songs, and every interested child got to work puppets during the musical numbers. Every cosplayer we asked to take a picture with was incredibly kind and accommodating. The LucasFilm Han Solo costume exhibit was really cool, it wasn't overly crowded so I was able to take time looking at the details on costumes, and they gave my kid a free Han Solo poster. A major bonus was the retro arcade, where all the games were free. I was impressed by the number of games, so many that my son and I played for an hour and half on multiple games and pinball machines, and we spent very little of that time waiting in line for games. The retro arcade also had plenty of step stools for the littles. If you have the right kind of kid, and the right kind of setup, you might be able to enjoy some of the actual Comicon panels as well (I share my thoughts on that in tips, below). I was lucky enough to receive our tickets though a Yelp giveaway, but I looked up ticket prices and I'm surprised by how much you get for the price of a ticket. My kid and and I had basic badges, his would have been $10, and mine $30, and the value was wonderful. We enjoyed almost a whole day there, from 10:30 to 5:00, and all the kids that visited PlayFair walked away with a swag bag including a Ninjago poster (Spirit poster for girls), a massive DC poster, a Trolls lanyard, and a DC Super Hero Girls Comic book. RCCC is set up for both children and adults to enjoy. My kid and I will be back next year! Tips: *Leave early. It will take you longer to park than you think. *Schedule your day. Write in shows, meet & greets, and panels you don't want to miss. Personally, I pen in my first choice events hour by hour, including the title, time and room number. I find having it on paper and in my pocket very helpful. *Plan on having ZERO cell service in the convention center. No amount of holding my phone up to the sky, window/perimeter walking, or ritual dancing would bring me a trickle of service. So unless you want to pay $12 for the convention center's weak signaled WiFi, you best prepare yourself for traversing a con barren of internet. That means take pictures of schedules and maps that are important to you BEFORE you get there. In the event that guide books and/or maps are out by the time you get there, you'll have your pictures to fall back on. *Depending on your child, and the panel you wish to attend, you may be able to get away with bringing them into an adult sit down panel. Bring your kid's headphones and have the electronic babysitter of your choice ready to go. Only you can make the decision about whether a backup battery is right for you. And remember, you WILL NOT have internet access, so Nick Jr app games, and streaming Netflix are not going be options. **Lastly, I only feel that it's okay to fill an audience seat with a plugged-in child when there are empty seats in the panel room. If that uninterested child's seat can be filled with another con attendee that could enjoy the panel, then it's a no-go. And, if that kid starts being a disruption, BAIL. Quickly and quietly leave the panel room.** Fortunately, not every panel is super popular, and some kids are thrilled to sit still and watch TV for an hour. *Waffling about whether or not to tote that stroller? Bring it. You might have to park far away, the convention center is huge, and you'll likely be jogging back and forth between events. If I hadn't had my stroller, my kid wouldn't have made it through the whole day. *Park that stroller. When you know you're going to be in a central location for awhile, park that thing off to the side. Gonna be in the PlayFair for a few hours? Find some empty, out of the way wall, and leave that thing behind while you explore booths and take in shows. Gonna be in a panel? Find area just outside the panel room, and leave it on a wall where it won't interfere with traffic. Just be considerate of others and it shouldn't be a problem. *Consider scheduling time early in the morning for taking pictures with cosplayers. The best pictures I took were the earliest ones, when my little both looked and felt fresh. read more

We had tickets for Saturday, and then I received tickets for Sunday through a Yelp Elite Perk, so we got to go to 2 days! It was our first time going, and we were really looking forward to it. For the most part, we loved the event. Just being around so many like-minded people was fun. The cosplay was so much fun to watch (and participate in - the first day we went as Harry Dresden and Molly Carpenter. Subtle, but fun) Just seeing everyone in their element, doing their thing, flying their flag - it was awesome. The vendor floor was enjoyable, if a bit crowded (especially on Saturday) and confusing - the map could have been easier to read. The overall entry line was a bit long on Saturday, but this was to be expected. (We came in around 9:30 - I heard it got nuts a bit later.) We attended several of the panels to mixed result. It's interesting to see what celebrities bring to their hour of time with the public. David Tennant proved to be just a lovely man. He was so warm, friendly, and honestly funny. He was so focused on the audience around him, seemed deeply humble, and genuinely concerned with listening to people. He just seemed very other-focused in such a lovely way. Evangeline Lilly was truly inspiring. Her work as an artist, her stunning intelligence, and her clear heart for bettering the world around her left the audience feeling hopeful for the future. The panel of local women writers sharing tips on writing was another bright spot. These women, and especially the brilliant Tina Connolly, were full of warmth and talent. A few of the other celebrities seemed a bit more concerned with their own fame and egos than taking care of their audience, however. And for the love of all that is holy, leave the poor sign language interpreters alone! They're just doing their jobs - hitting on them is in poor taste, if not harassment, and laughing at the signs for certain words (and making them repeat them over and over again) smacks of deaf shaming. Unfortunately, the panel on the importance of the new, female Doctor seemed to be a hastily thrown-together afterthought. It was unclear if anyone was moderating, and the conversation was dominated by someone who seemed to think the female Doctor was a bad idea, and someone who was mostly interested in name dropping. There was no direction to the conversation and the one interesting panelist, a woman of color, was continually talked over. The audience left in droves, and we only managed to make it halfway through. There was a pretty major schedule change on the main stage, swapping panelists not only to different times but different DAYS - swapping Karl Urban and Michael Rooker. Despite being in the main stage room for most of Saturday we never heard about it. No announcement was made. No signs were posted, other than a scratch out in pen on a small sign outside the room. The schedule on the website was changed, but no attention was called to it (and our phones didn't connect to the internet from inside the building anyway.) Neither of these panels were high priority to us so we weren't too upset, but for anyone who was really looking for them this could have been really upsetting. Why wasn't more attention called to it? There should have been banners and announcements. There were a few more organizational issues, including running out of programs early on Sunday, that seemed like they should have been easily avoidable. At the very least schedules could have been photocopied for folk? Probably the biggest problem, however, was the fact that the children's stage was not accessible for differently abled folk. This despite the fact that two slots on Saturday were set aside for the Magic Wheelchair group (an amazing group that makes free costumes for kids in wheelchairs.) They set aside time for these kids, but they couldn't even get up on the stage. I can't really articulate how upsetting this is. And what if some of those kids had wanted to participate in the costume parade/contest on Sunday? It was a pretty short stage - a ramp would not have been difficult to add. Overall we had a lovely time and depending on the guests are considering doing full weekend passes next year. We'd also like to bring our almost-eight-year-old along for a day because the kids area looks great for him. I just hope they can knock down some of these organizational snafus and make the show really, truly as great as it could be! read more

This was my first Con experience, and it was a lot of fun. I received my day passes as part of a giveaway, so I didn't have to pay to attend. This event has something for everyone - lots of artists, in person, selling their wares, panels talking about all aspects of working in the art world, and endless booths selling comics, collectibles, games, costumes, and other shiny stuff. There are also famous and semi-famous folks signing autographs and posing for pictures. I saw folks dressed up as superheroes, video game characters, and, curiously, as the Swedish Chef. Lots of fun, and I'm sure even more so if you're actually a fan. read more

My first time attending a "con" and I will say that it was truly an eye opening and wildly enjoyable experience. I had no expectation's going into it so everything was new. All the vendors were so friendly and there were some incredibly talented and creative people. Unfortunately I was only able to attend for 1 day, or else I would've taken a much longer time at each individual booth. There were so many times I caught my self wanting to go through their entire inventory of clothes or comics; just to realize that I still have half the floor to explore and couldn't afford the time. Again due to time restrictions, I was only able to take part in a single panel, but it was with Carl Weathers who was amazing on stage. I do wish there were more interactive aspects? There was a pretty cool table top gaming section, which I really enjoyed. And Lastly is the food. Not great? but you don't come to comic con for the food! read more

First, I must admit to being a comic con newbie. I went on a Friday when it's seems to be more quiet. The benefit of that is that it wasn't too crowded. I went with two teenagers who are gamers. It was super fun with them. The gaming area, MTG at the time, seemed intense though. More intense than the local card shop so we hit the artist alley and had a ball. Yes several places happily took our money as we walked out with treasures. One issue we found was just getting there. Tickets weren't a problem, I was able to easily select and pay (both free yelp elite tickets and paid). The difficulty was parking near the convention center. Next time I'm taking MAX. Overall a fun time, I'll probably do it again. read more

I won these tickets through yelp perk elite event! Let me start off by saying it was the most fun I have had since I have moved up north. Everyone was dressed up and having a great time. I went to the doctor who panel and it did not disappoint. There were so many vendors and so many things to buy. Very nostalgic for me everything I watched when I was younger and still continue to watch today. If you haven't gone yet there is still a chance to go today! The line for general admission did not take that long even though i thought it would take forever! There is plenty of parking available in the parking garages if you don't mind paying a little extra. I will definitely be coming to rose city comic con 2019!!! read more

First, we've been to this con for the last several years as well as others. I say this so you will know I'm not a Con newbie. This year's con was very poorly organized. No one checked bags. They ran out of program guides very quickly and if you have AT&T you just don't have internet while you're in this venue so you can't even bring up the program guide on your phone. All the fantastic panels were on Saturday! The price of admission was increased by at least $10 from previous years. Much of everything was sold out on Sunday. We got crappy lanyards... again. People were sitting in the middle of walking aisles in the vendor hall which made navigating them very difficult. It was still pleasant, all things considered, but my group has decided that other cons we attend have none of these negative traits and we may not be back to Rose City Comic Con. So long city of Roses... and thanks for all the fish. read more

Won 2/3 of my tickets for free. Let's start with a few of the hiccups. The website for purchasing / claiming tickets was not working correctly and it took me many tries to get the tickets. Huge line to get in but it went fairly quickly. They could have done far more to smooth out the process like more ropes, more people checking bags rather than just one staff person. For the price of admission there is an insane amount of vendors to visit so you definitely get your money's worth right there. Costumes ranged from amateur to professional grade and everything in between. Long lines for bathrooms, anything food related and getting out of the main convention hall was like walking through a solid wall of people. Security staff were not friendly or helpful but all in all I would definitely go again. read more

Rose city is a great comic con so many different things to buy and different merchandise very good artists the artists are amazing there. 3 day pass is always the way to go on a comic con. So many cool things place to be your self. read more

The Rose City Comic Con is back in town. This is the best Con that comes to Portland. There are celebrities to say hi to, sign autographs and take photo ops with their fans. There are ALOT of talented comic book artists and venders selling their wares. There are people dressed in elaborate costumes. As I said earlier this is the best con ever. e had an issue with the Showclix ticketing, they showed our 6 tickets in the computer ready for pickup but would not issue them to us. We had Showclix reissue them and Rose City Comic Con still wouldn't let our family in. We spent about $300 and had to tell 5 very disappointed kids we would have to try again next year. The worst part - Rose City Comic Con won't return my emails or Show clix emails for a refund. I understand that "things" happen but you fix these things so people return. Rose City Comic Con obviously does not care about it's patrons at all. I can't recommend them to anyone, I can't take my kids because I'm not willing to lose another $300 and then be ignored by the company when trying to get a refund for tickets that were not usable. I'm sad- I thought it would be amazing, but they have terrible customer service. Not existent customer service- they don't even have a telephone number! read more
