It is darkly lit and almost like walking into a trendy wine bar as you enter its sophisticated doorway. This is not a place for antiques or vintage finds, Dwell is exclusively for contemporary living- it does not sell furniture, it sells "pieces" darling and it is a place where furniture lovers will find the focal point they have been searching for, for their designer pads. Every room in the house is catered for in a sleek and stylish fashion; sofas are angular and impressive, dining chairs are futuristic and the beds look straight out of MTV Cribs. The lighting section is second to none, and I am in awe of the pendant wine glass chandelier which costs £199 and is a real talking point. Dwell is simply good taste and prices vary from the affordable to the expensive- another light fixture which has caught my eye is £600. Dwell is a supermodel of a furniture shop, traditionalists will hate it, but post modernists will adore it. The staff are friendly and its customer base favour city centre thirty-somethings with a bit of cash. If you fancy splashing out for your urban dwelling then Dwell is right up your busy, congested, city street.

There's also plenty to eat. Staff are always pleasant and you're never rushed. I had the burger and chips and my wife a roasted vegetable wrap. Both come with cracking chips. 2 pots of earl grey tea. Cost just over £20. Perfect! If you have room after a mains go for the cakes; home made and rather delicious. We've never managed it so will come back just for that.

They need to sort out getting some aircon in though, boy was it hot! And the wallpaper section was pretty poor with none actually on show just lots of books, but hey you can't do it all. The woman in the wardrobe section was very very pushy, her manner alone was enough to put me off, but all the other staff were very helpful, particularly the lovely lady by the sofas! It sound like I didn't like this place and I really did, just didn't really fill my specifications for the day. Did see some little stools I really liked though. Didn't try the cafe but looked nice. A treasure trove of second hand & vintage items!…read more This is a charity shop which funds the work of the Mustard Tree. They support vulnerable people across Greater Manchester in a variety of ways. This shop is a couple of minutes walk down Oldham Road, just out of the end of the Northern Quarter. They have a huge range of second hand items including furniture, white goods (but not cookers), clothing, bric a brac, electricals and entertainment items like vinyl. Everything is very reasonably priced as you would expect and they get some amazing vintage items in. They offer delivery for either £5 or £10 depending on the distance which is much cheaper than most other local charities. They also accept donations of items and can collect furniture for free on their vans. Call their office to book in a collection of you want to donate or you drop things like clothing off at their site. Check the website for opening times. It's well worth the extra small walk out of the main city centre to have a rummage in this hidden gem!

As if the internal array of stock isn't enough, the TV stands, tables and chairs and chests of drawers spill out onto the pavement too. The overriding impression here is that quantity of stock on offer definitely eclipses the overall quality. It's definitely a place that follows the mantra 'stack it high and sell it cheap' and as such, I guess that you could say it fulfils the needs of a great number of potential clientele in Sale. However, I'd have to say that the pieces on offer have the look of flat-pack that has been pre-assembled rather than nicely designed, or eclectiv an authentic reclaimed items and it's certainly not a shop I'll visit again
