Nice place in quiet location. Great for a weekend getaway. Only downside is very limited parking. Don't bring big vehicle or more than 1.

The evening manager really helped my daughter & I out of a bad situation in the middle of the night from a previous hotel that we had to leave. He was so gracious, understanding, kind and put us in a lovely clean room. There is a fantastic breakfast restaurant right next door if you decide to not do the breakfast in the hotel. I will always remember this man's hospitality Thank you

For a man on a budget, this was a wonderful value for a night's stay. It wasn't that crowded on a…read moresummer Sunday night, so my single room was nice and quiet despite being at the top of the stairs (only two other guests up that way apparently). I slept as soundly as I ever could dream, without a single outside noise interfering. The A/C worked with a set temperature and Constant Fan. Everything in the room worked and was clean. Standard Super 8 breakfast downstairs. There's even a pool downstairs, but we were a bit too late to really use it before pool closing at 10. (Desk clerk had the pool light off, I asked if the pool was open and he said yes, and even though I told him I wasn't going in, I saw the light on at 10:30 so I wonder if he would have let me use it a bit longer than 10.) Things that were wrong: 1) Soda machine was broken. But front desk would sell you one instead. 2) My room smelled rather like smoke when I walked in. But I know hotels, and if someone smoked recently, you really can't get that smell out easily. The hotel itself did not smell like smoke, so this was one bad guest that did it. I ran the AC fan all night and things seemed to smell better in the morning (I tested by walking out in the hall and coming back in) so hopefully the next guest in 202 doesn't have that issue. I'm 100% certain that if I couldn't tolerate the smell, the clerk would have given me another room without charge and worked to clean it anyway. So no deductions for that! In conclusion, great value place to stay.

I booked this trip as a Valentine's getaway and had a wonderful time…read more The history and biographical significance of this inn is what drew me to want to stay here. It is the personal home of Dave Longaberger from the Longaberger basket company. My BF's mom was a star seller of these baskets once upon a time so he is very familiar! I booked the fanciest room--The Dresden Suite! High ceilinged, king sized 4-poster bed, fireplace, sitting and desk area, small hallway with back access and a big jetted tub in the middle of the room. Features are great but the building, rooms, carpeting, furniture are quite old and worn. I think due to the age of the building and the lack of staff, the entire place did not feel very clean. Our room was tidy when we checked in but upon closer inspection, corners were dusty, papers and brochures were water stained, carpet was stained in places and peeling. This might have been an oversight but the bathroom didn't have shampoo or body wash stocked. There was liquid hand soap but my BF swears it was watered down and not quite effective. During our 1-night stay here, we only saw one person the whole time working and it was also the owner, Joy. She embodies her name as she warmly pads around suggesting we look around and offered to show us 2 additional rooms, which was fun. We didn't opt for the 4-course dinner that she cooks personally from scratch. It was $100 or something and includes a bottle of wine which would've been wasted since neither of us drink. We went out for dinner but upon getting back to the inn, Joy prepared a dessert for us--so cute! We got a small chocolate lava cake with a scoop of ice cream and a strawberry each! The room was stifling and we were unable to adjust the temperature too much. It was freezing outside yet we had to have the A/C on because of how hot it was in the room. We borrowed 2 of their many DVDs and put it on the background while we intensely played a board game. The next morning, Joy made us a delicious light breakfast. We headed out to the nearby abandoned Longaberger retail ghost town. Oh, and Joy's dog Chewbacca is adorable. She could definitely use a bath and grooming session but she was so friendly!
