Pizza was good...not memorable...just good. The antipasto is ridiculous. I'm not an Italian connoisseur, but iceberg lettuce, sliced black olives, and thin cut ham wrapped around jack cheese. Come on, that was just plain silly. Don't call it an antipasto...give it another name....like 'Fake Antipasto' or 'Silly Salad'. I like that last name. O.K. it's time to give some kudos. The people here could not be nicer. They were so nice...I actually wanted to visit them the other day. I wasn't hungry....I just wanted to visit. That's how nice they are. Now I feel guilty that I criticized that 2 star salad. Anyway...go check out Filippi's antipasto. It's just a bit to the west of you. Their antipasto is ridiculously fantastic, and I do love their pizza....but my friends (I only have a few) say it has too much cheese on it. I disagree. Soup on bread, We ordered a half bbq chicken/pepperoni pizza. OMG I've never seen something so dam greasy in my life. The Pizza was good but keep a defibrillator handy, there was as much grease as cheese. Not to mention a 40 minute delivery took an hour to get here. I know my place is tough to get too but Pizza Hut, and NY Giant pizza has no problem getting here. Sooo. We stopped down here on a Friday night. They just have 4 booths in a small seating area. The place is clean, it's definitely a mom and pop type of place. First off, prices are insanely cheap for SD. I still don't understand why I need to pay 20 bucks a pie at some of these places. We got an xl for cheap. One thing for the negative was that I had to buy a bottle of water. Isn't it a law in CA that you have to offer a glass of water for free if customer asks? Seemed like a tourist trap strategy. The pizza was good. Wasn't a traditional style pizza, or chicago style. Weird hybrid of frozen and fresh pizza. Crust was spongey. Tasted like your friends mom used to make. Good, fresh, and a little unfamiliar. I'd probably eat here again, but don't know that I'd drive out of my way to go there. Overall good experience though. read more

I delivered pizza for Rosario's in 85' when I was a freshmen at ucsd. After all this time I must say it was probably my favorite job, much better than pushing pencil behind a cubicle and the wacky office politics tell you that much. At the end of my shift late at night, the owner would let us eat anything we wanted so it was always the gigantic plate of spaghetti topped loaded with mushrooms, green peppers, olives and whatever else I can pile on it and I would devour the plate clean it was crazy good. read more

Rosaria is my favorite small pizza joint! Their food is so delicious. Their house-made vinaigrette dressing for their antipasto salad is the best I've ever had (I think they add crushed red pepper so it has a nice kick!). I love that on their veggie pizza they include veggies like zucchini! I've also had their lasagna which was great. Above all, their customer service is exceptional. Sometimes it's very hard to understand them because they have thick accents, but they're so kind and accommodating and I always leave happy and appreciative. read more

There are many many pizza joints everywhere. Competing for top pizza joint is quite a difficult journey. So this place seems to be well reviewed, and was on my pizza to-do list. So I ordered a pizza that I generally try at many locations, specifically a Hawaiian pizza. The crust was fluffy and soft, and a "medium" thickness. The pizza was loaded with cheese and a good amount of sauce, I'd say the right amount of sauce. And there was a good amount of toppings added. That said, I think I am just a fan of thinner, crispier crusts. The pizza was still enjoyable, but didn't exactly leave any lasting impression. Id say they are a step above chain pizza joints. And if you like a fluffy, thicker crust, I definitely think you should give this place a chance. REALLY. Many other reviewers seem to love this place, so I'm guessing it just comes down to personal taste. read more

As all of us regulars know, Rosarios does not have a database to look up their customers by phone number (which I hope they have someday) HOWEVER; - when we called, they remembered who we were, where we used to live... and remembered that they delivered our last pizza late a few months ago. I'm a Chicago transplant so I know a good pizza when I see/taste/eat one. That said the vast majority of pizzas found in SoCal are pretty lousy. This place makes a consistently good Chicago/New York style pizza. Be sure to ask them to go heavy on the sauce though. The sandwiches are awesome too. Good prices, better value! I usually have to ordering catering whenever my work has any kind of meeting. Whenever we feel like having pizza, we always order from here. It's delicious, local, and a great deal. The veggie pizza is a huge favorite among my coworkers. Highly recommend! We love this place so much that sometimes we treat our awesome neighbors at the business next door to us to free pizza. The people who work there are always so friendly, and they remember us. Nice family-owned hole-in-the-wall restaurant with AMAZING sandwiches. The truth is I'm not really a sandwich person and I am extremely picky when it comes to eating the perfect sandwich. When I do finally find that perfect sandwich, I enjoy it to all of its glory, but anything less than top-notch gets a "meh" response from me. I got the submarine roast beef sandwich and it had just the perfect texture and ratio of vegetables/meat/spread, and everything was neatly pressed together, and it came with this dipping sauce which made it very flavorful. What I loved just as much was the price- it's about $7 for 16 inches, and since the servings are so large it pretty much lasts me the entire day. It took a while for the sandwich to come out but it's clear they put a lot of effort into making it so I don't mind at all.
