Salaam Cola
Sahar R.

10/10 quality food and freshness. The owner gets the dough prepared daily and this shop is a testament to making his dreams a reality. He puts his heart in the craft of this food. Everything is clean, looks fresh and tastes delicious. They also have Salaam's cola products sold here and we tried all 3 flavors, so delicious. We had the calzone and picked three toppings. Super filling for 5 of us and we still had some left. They open everyday until midnight!

N.Y Halal Meat Lovers Pizza - 20"

Excellent halal pizzas - such a treat for those Of us who don't eat pork to finally have a halal pizza option in town. Service was warm and friendly and the owner was so kind as to carry our pies to the car. Everyone loved the pizzas and we will absolutely be back.

It's big pizza I've had NY style pizza before all over the east coast, but I'm not sure if I ever had halal style pizza let alone in San Diego area. This place is pretty hidden and the only reason I found this was typing pizza on Apple Maps. It's pretty small with maybe a half dozen tables and decorated for the Halloween spirit. The lady at the front desk said I could get a half half if I wanted. So I got half meat lovers and half their supreme. I had a great conversation with pizza maker about what halal is and how it's prepped. You don't get disappointed with the portion for sure. It took me a couple of days to finish this meal. And it was just as tasty from begin to end. Overall four stars. Service was great and the pizza was good. Prices are high but I think with the amount of food I got it was worth it.

Well my review is long over due because I went here back in October. It was our first time here and super nice. We placed an order for pick up thru phone and the staff was super nice. I think we got half chicken & half margarita pizza which was super huge. The pizza itself had a different crust than your usual fast food places like u can taste the authenticity of the crust. There is a good amount of parking outside & seating inside. They had some cute Halloween decor going on. Also the staff was super nice because we told them we placed an order too for a 2L bottle but I guess they forgot to charge it to us, so they gave it to us for free. I want to come back and try other pizzas in the future!

Beef pepperoni Giant Pizza Slice, YUM!!!

Wow! I had the best experience here tonight. Was looking for a local pizza spot to check out for dinner. Found Giant Pizza NY Style, reviews were solid and I always like to support a small business when I can. This review might be longer, there is a story here. They are located at the corner of Bernardo Center drive and Iberia place, in the corner of various shops there. When I entered Ali the owner welcomed me and from the start I could tell he was passionate about his business and his craft. The decor inside has no frills, just a few tables and the front counter, everything you need. You can watch some Netflix on their big TV as well, which is cool. I ordered their special, a giant slice and soda, added a side salad topped with chicken. As I waited I started talking more to Ali and somehow we got on the subject of him using beef vs pork for his meats, specifically his pepperoni. I told him I loved pepperoni, but if you read my other reviews, you know I am trying to not eat processed meats as much. He insisted I try his and proceeded to go get a slice, cook it and brought it to me, so nice, who does that? Someone who loves their business is who. As I sat and ate, we talked more, the pizza was amazing, crust was crisp and chewy at the same time, perfectly seasoned and flavored. These slices are huge! Did not skimp on the mushrooms either, very very tasty cheese. He was right on the pepperoni as well, same great crust, the pepperoni had a spice to it, which I loved, not as greasy as pork and probably less fat I would guess. He makes his crust as well as his own pasta on site. He tells me his pasta and lasagna is epic, next time I am here, I will give it a try. I also found out that Ali is also an Olympic boxer, at least he is going to try to make the 2028 Olympics in LA, I believe he has been accepted, but needs to be qualified or something like that. I really wish him luck and hope to see him there, who knows maybe I will run into him in LA during the Olympics. Go support his small Family business, wish him luck with the Olympics and give him good vibes to get there and achieve his goals in life. It is rare you meet someone randomly that is so genuine and kind and passionate about life. I am so glad I went tonight, Ali really made my day and we had a great conversation over his excellent pizza. Enjoy!

Came here to pick up lunch today, the person on the counter was so sweet and helpful. I had tried their Halal Meat Lovers pizza before it was wonderful! Today decided to try lunch special Halal Gyro on Pita it was delicious!!! Plus I got a free side salad. I will definitely be coming back here. Thank you!!!

N.Y Vegetarian Pizza - 14" With two slices of leftover N.Y Halal Supreme Pizza - 14" on top

We ordered the vegetarian pizza, supreme pizza, and a greek salad to-go. Everything tasted delicious and savory, as NY style pizza should be. Our pizzas took around 20 minutes to make from start to finish, which is pretty fast compared to the half hour we were expecting. The actual restaurant is small and cozy. Not too many tables, but most people we saw go by were getting take out. Head's up: this place no longer serves hummus, tabouli, or baba ghanoush. Its focus seems to have shifted mainly to pizza.

Oh..... my..... Batman!!! This place is AWESOME!!! We ordered the largest pizza they have for our fam bam and their friends and it did not disappoint. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard when the driver pulled it out of his trunk. We had to tip it to get it through the door. Absolutely spectacular. Doesn't even matter if you like pizza or not, this is one for the 'gram!

Let me start with the service. Fire....you get a sense of brotherly love. The staff is friendly and attentive. It's a nice location to sit and eat, but most carry out. The pizza was satisfying and cooked nicely. Solid 4.1 only because I'm from Chicago and I've had 4.5 and up. Overall, good.

It's a Mother's Day weekend and we went to SD with my whole family. After hiking at Annie's canyon and visiting La Jolla cave I deserved to have a slice of pizza! This is my first time to come here and the cashier was so nice and friendly! He was very polite and very accommodating. I gave 5 star review because first the pizza was full of flavors. I ordered half margarita and half meat lover. It was so delicious and second the service were superb.. Mr. Ali was so impressive and very helpful that he brought my order all the way to my car. The place was not big but the pizza and service was amazing!. My family and I definitely will come back here!

Best halal pizza. I moved in the area recently from LA and was looking for halal food to open my fast. Pizza was great. Fresh and warm. Alhumdulilah. Thank you to the owner and staff for great service!

They have some seating inside which was nice and clean too. The meatball and ricotta was an okay slice. The meatball and overall slice could have used some more flavor/seasoning. I also gota pepperoni, basil, ricotta, hot honey slice which was better. The crust was decent and had more chew than crisp. While it was okay, I'd prefer to go to another shop when I'm craving a slice.

Pizza Wasn't the Only Thing Getting Fired Up Outside…read more We weren't even customers here, but after what I saw outside this place I definitely won't be one in the future. We were standing on the sidewalk near the red seating area in front of Filippi's Pizza Grotto for about ten minutes finishing a smoke. I had recently experienced a flare-up of a chronic illness, which significantly affected my well-being. During this episode,I had felt the need to smoke as a way to manage the heightened stress and discomfort caused by my condition. Right as we finished and were about to leave, a police car pulled up (it honestly looked like the officer was just stopping by to grab lunch). That's when an older lady employee from the restaurant suddenly came outside and said, "Do you mind moving down? The smoke is going into my restaurant." Fair request. We immediately responded respectfully with "Sorry miss," and started walking away to avoid any issue. But instead of leaving it there, she kept escalating the situation while they were already leaving, repeating things like "This is a family business, have some respect!" -- which didn't really make sense considering we had already apologized and were doing exactly what she asked. What made the whole thing feel strange was the timing. We had been standing there for around ten minutes already. If the smoke was truly bothering the restaurant, why wait until the exact moment a police car pulled up to come outside and confront us? From the outside, it honestly looked like the presence of the police suddenly gave her the confidence to make a scene and try to draw attention to us even though we were already complying. It appears she wanted to get us into legal trouble with her making it a bigger scene in front of the police. Another thing that didn't sit right with me was that we were the only Hispanics standing in the area at the time and the only people she chose to confront. I'm not saying that was the intention, but from a bystander's perspective it definitely didn't look great. Also, I'm still confused by the "this is a family restaurant" comment. What exactly does that mean in this situation? Are people who smoke not allowed to eat there? Because we weren't even customers at the moment we were simply standing on a public sidewalk and immediately moved when asked. If someone respectfully complies with your request, there's really no reason to continue escalating the situation or trying to involve the police by drawing attention to it. If this is how people are treated outside the restaurant, it doesn't exactly inspire confidence about how customers are treated inside. It appears that if you're Hispanic or a smoker you should steer clear of this place. I wouldn't be surprised if she has ICE on speed dial.

When we got there it was a 45 min wait so we sat at the bar. The bartender was very nice and helpful. The cider I got was ok but it was only $9 so I'm not complaining. Let's talk about food. I got the burrata pizza. This was my fault cause i was still expecting sauce but there was none. Which I kind of understand but for $19 I would have rather just got a burrata platter as like a dip. The dough was honestly amazing. Crust is very fluffy, closer to the center is extremely thin. Overall it was good and fresh but I wouldn't pay $19 for it again. Sister got the spicy salami. Again the dough was good. Sauce was good definitely a more savory red sauce. Salami was fs spicy, we love spice but this fs had a kick. Overall good I think it could have been great with a hot honey. Pizza is on the bigger side. There's only 4 slices but it's more like 8 regular slices. More than enough for one person. We both only had half and saved the rest for home. To wrap it up, the ambiance is good for a nice night out but the food is only ok for the price. Very fresh and good but I would rather spend less on a good pizza than more on a gourmet place. Would recommend for a nice date night or something like that.

Next, we got a glass of prosecco. I told the waiter that I only like wine that tastes much more sweet then bitter or strong and he made a perfect suggestion along with giving us a sampler of 3 different wines which was so generous. I got to try them all and pick the one I liked the most, but even the samples were a generous size. For main course I got one of the current options for the cheese wheel pasta they make in front of you in cacio e pepe and my husband got the formaggi pizza with truffle mushrooms. My husband absolutely loved his pizza and the crust was one of the best he's ever had. My pasta was fresh and had a ton of sauce and cream so they didn't skimp at all. I could tell easily that they use very high quality Parmesan because i'm a Parmesan connoisseur and could taste how potent it was. They let me have as much extra as I wanted on without limiting since I enjoy a lot on it which was also a plus in my book. Next time I would get a pasta that's a little lighter, because it was a more heavy dish and it tends to make me feel pretty full after which is totally a me thing, but they have so much on the menu to try that I'm sure I'll love whatever I get even more next time. Lastly, dessert. We got a regular tiramisu and it was absolutely amazing. They put a ton of cream which is exactly what I look for. It wasn't too espresso or cocoa strong and had a perfect ratio. The cream was so light and fluffy that we had to get another one to bring home and eat tomorrow night! I had seen a previous review on here about someone not liking the tiramisu here and it not meeting their expectations for a more upscale Italian place but I've been to quite a few authentic Italian gems and this one had tiramisu up there so I'd have to disagree and completely recommend! The service was impeccable. Every waiter was kind and prompt, constantly making sure we were taken care of and getting what we needed. The atmosphere was also a plus for us because we have a 1 year old baby and there was enough room where we weren't too cramped or crowded in, and it wasn't too loud or overstimulating. The place was very clean and taken care of as well as the bathrooms. All in all, I loved this place and I will be coming back. I would definitely recommend Monello for a nice little date night, and don't forget the tiramisu.
