The ginger-spice paste was something ive not had with other hainanese chicken where usually there is a mixed dark sauce with minced spices like ginger garlic etc. I think this spice paste was a little too strong, but the good thing is you can choose how much you want. I do prefer the "magic sauce" prepared to just pour over my food, but this is not a deal breaker for me and probably something others probably prefer.
