We had them do our driveway last week and looks fine, but after removal of the old driveway, Joe asked for another $1250 to deal with low spot that Frank, their estimator had not noticed or mentioned. I agreed to it, but let's see how the driveway works out over time. They did not use the crushed rock that L&M uses, and lets sit for weeks, but rather used some mixed sand and rocks and then did the paving the next day. Maybe that doesn't matter as old, fifty year old driveway had a sand underlay. read more

One of my customers worked as an employee for this company and recommended it to me. After relying on my customer's word of mouth recommendation, I hired this company came to pave my driveway. Rose Construction arrived to pull up my old driveway black top and they put the new one down. Despite their one year warranty, within three months my driveway started to show spider cracks half way down the driveway. I had a friend who retired from the black top business come over to check it out, and he informed me that Rosa Construction failed to utilize enough black top towards the middle and end of the driveway. Therefore the black top used in the middle and end of my driveway was too thin and began to sink and crack. Rosa Construction came back to inspect my driveway a month later and rather than apologize for the work, they blamed the cracking and sinking on my irrigation system. Rosa Construction promised to come back to my home to fix my driveway. It took the company four months to return back to my home, and when they did, the employees heated up the blacktop they previously laid in an attempt to move it around and re-allocate it to the spots that were lacking rather than reapplying new black top. Within two months the black top dried up and broke again. I attempted to reach out to the company in order to rectify the situation numerous times and they failed to answer my messages or return my calls, leaving my driveway cracked and sunken. Later, I saw my client who informed me he was forced to quit due to the fact that the owner of the company failed to live up to his customers guarantees and promises. I am writing this review to show future potential customers that the fact that a business says they have a guarantee and they are listed with the better business bureau has no meaning at all. -Greg P. read more

GET IT IN WRITING BEFORE YOU START! Frank is completely disarming and a smooth talker, and unfortunately, I didn't know anything about the paving industry when the team arrived for an estimate. I learned that paving is charged by the square foot, so I made it very clear that I needed certain areas patched or added on to, and calculated in my head what this should cost. Frank agreed, and said with a smile, "If we have any left over, we can cover these areas". I thought this was a great way to gain a positive reputation with a new customer. An hour later, a truck full of asphalt pulls in, and five different guys completed the areas I had requested; then the truck, which was still half full, starts rolling up the driveway, dumping asphalt. When I saw this, I told Frank that that was an awful lot of asphalt to give away on a driveway that didn't really need it, and he might be able to use the asphalt on his next job. He replied "Well, we're not giving it away". It suddenly dawned on me, when he said "we can fill in these areas", he meant "at your expense"! He had literally ordered twice as much asphalt as he needed, and fully expected that I was going to pay for it all. My $2,000 job just turned into $3600, and the asphalt was already on the ground! I later checked with an asphalt company, who told me their minimum order was two tons - Frank told me that there was five tons in the truck. So here's a guy who should be a paving expert, who had clear instructions on the square footage required, who is not required to order more than was necessary to do the job, who then simply chose to order twice as much and charge ME for his decision. Shame on me for not getting a written agreement in advance. And in the middle of all this, Frank tried to sell me the "Well, why don't you just do the whole driveway?" pitch THREE different times. Annoying. Having said all that (and to be fair), There was a deep depression in the driveway that required several layers, and Frank only charged me for the actual surface footage of that patch. Hence, the two stars instead of one. I'm not saying to avoid them, but I absolutely would not agree to anything with this company unless I had a written contract with a dollar number and an authorized signature at the bottom. read more

I had these guys do 4 jobs for me in a 2 year time period. They come in with a good price, do a lousy job and then refuse to come back and make any repairs repairs. They will tell you, "we do repairs in November". November comes and they never show up. I did get them to come back finally on one of the jobs and the patches that they put in makes the driveway look as bad as it did before they started. Of the 4 jobs they did for me one was satisfactory. If you like those odds, go for it. read more

These guys did the driveway and retaining walls on a new construction property that we purchased in May of 2013. Two of the three retaining walls already have slants to them and I am highly concerned about the structural integrity of the construction behind them. The walls cant be more than two years old, so to me this is unacceptable. There also doesn't appear to be proper drainage along the walls. These guys either didn't know what they were doing or were being cheap/lazy in completing the work. Either way not a good look...I would never use this company or recommend them to anyone else. read more
