DO NOT COME HERE! I came for an ingrown toenail removal with Dr. Tonya. She cut 1/4 on each side of my toenail on both my big toes, which means she cut half of my total nail. It looks horrible. It's been 3 months since the toenail removal and now MY NAIL IS GROWING SIDEWAYS! I used to have nails that grew straight, now the tip of the nail is curved to one side. My nails are now crooked and so ugly from how they were. My nail no longer touches one side of the skin border where the original nail was. I don't leave reviews often, but I wish someone would have warned me of this. The day of the toenail removal, Dr. Tonya was rushing and just focused on talking to her assistants and teaching them about what she was doing. She did not take the time to just focus on me. I came back for a follow up and Dr. Tonya was dismissive of the nail growing sideways! Dr. Tonya said that it was my bone that was sideways. HOWEVER, before the surgery, my nails were not sideways! She claimed to have done thousands of nails, yet couldn't help to tell me why my nail was sideways. Dr. Tonya said that this was not a cosmetic surgery, basically telling me that my nails were just going to look like deformed and sideways. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC! Apologies, Dr Friedman... This review is regarding your office associate... DR TANYA PANICHPAKDEE I rarely leave reviews, but felt strongly this needed to be shared. Details of my office visit are available upon request. But, for the sake of brevity, I'll share simply this: Dr Panichpakdee is rude and disrespectful. I learned that about her during a 5 minute exchange. That's all it took, 5 minutes... After said exchange, I gathered my things, requested a refund for the visit I never had (45 minute wait time, hour drive, paid for parking) and left the office. While still in the building parking structure, I telephoned my insurance company and my referring doctor to inform them of the nasty exchange. Both offices were seriously stunned and most apologetic after hearing of the treatment I received from Dr Panichpakdee and promised to escalate my complaint to higher authorities. Follow up calls from both offices are expected in the next 24-48 hours. I was kind to the doctor and her staff, saying little. Engaging with someone as disrespectful as Dr Panichpakdee would've been a waste of my time. Her behavior toward me made it clear she wasn't going to listen to anything I had to say. How would she react toward me if I were to question her assessment of my injury and treatment? Had I been someone with less emotional strength, I may have allowed her disrespect and snark to pass, for the sake of my broken foot. Honestly, not even that pain could've kept me in her office a second longer. There are many other podiatrists in the area. I'm certain most any of the others would be a far better option than Dr Panichpakdee. read more

I came in without a referral for some foot pain that I thought was caused by a splinter, but Dr. Friedman immediately suspected something else. He even did an x-ray for free to show me what the problem was and then gave me some good advice. He advocates conservative care and told me what kind of shoes to buy and what kind of inserts I need. Everything came at a reasonable cost of $80 for the visit, and he even offered to take a look at the shoes I own to see if they are suitable for me, for free. 100% recommend! read more

The internet is filled with horror stories about how painful ingrown toenail removal can be, and so I suffered with ingrown toenails on both of my big toes for months, trying every home remedy I could find in a misguided attempt to avoid going to a podiatrist. Nice Doctor listen to your concerns. Doctor is gentle and straight forward. Office is in a run down building that I actually used to go with my mother when I was younger. It was a bit nostalgic. Inside the office there's a hoshposh of every feet, foot decore you could fine. Everywhere u turn there's a quirky picture or an inspirational foot quote. Front office is ok, nice but could be a bit more welcoming to new patients. After going for a follow-up I was happy to see receptionist was in a better mood. He doesn't try to over talk you, he tells you straight what needs to be done, and then puts you at ease telling you that he can do his procedures quite painlessly. Now, I've Had an ingrown toenail removed before, and that experience Traumatized me. DR FRIEDMAN assured me that This experience would be way different, and he was 100% truthful with me on that. That's at least a 45 minute drive! (without traffic) My friend told me I would not be disappointed. Well let me tell you! After calling Dr. Friedman's office, telling his staff my problem and setting up an appointment both of my big toes were treated on my very first visit! Besides being a great doctor, Dr. Friedman is an easy to talk to, very approachable doctor. (He also made sure the procedure was as pain free as possible. It really didn't hurt!) Dr. Rory Friedman doesn't talk over your head (or feet) and I walked (slowly) out of his office without my ingrown toenails and chocolate suckers! Yep, his great and friendly office staff gave me two chocolate foot shaped suckers! Obviously one for each of my big toes! What more could I ask for? (Well he could move his office to Los Angeles) I've been going back to Dr. Friedman now for all my foot problems, even some I invented! Who cares about the drive! For years, under the care of three other podiatrists, I was misdiagnosed with, and treated for, toenail fungus. The second Dr. Friedman saw my foot, he knew better. Dr. Friedman has really helped me with my Plantar Fasciitis issue. I like that I can call and get a nice human on the phone vs the robot press 2 if you want to ---- etc. I got a cortisone shot in my foot and it did not hurt when he did it, I have heard horror stories from friends who had this done at other places. Dr Friedman was recommended to me as I was in a lot of pain whenever I walked or put pressure on my left foot. A short walk was agony, dr Friedman checked out my feet and saw immediately what the problem was and treated me then and there I was told the way I was walking was putting pressure on my feet and that was forming calluses . He removed them in the office And then fit me with inserts which corrected the angle of steps, since he worked on me I have no problems walking and am very pleased with the treatment I received. This physician offers a one size fits all type of medicine. He told me my shoes were terrible( soft sided flats) he also told me to make an appointment to bring in my shoes( left or right) and he would tell me good or bad. He told me I didn't have toe fungus, then proceeded to tell me how to cure it. His office is full of cartoons and other pieces of paper, it's quite messy , and the carpet in the waiting area is gone, he has half painted concrete instead. I have been seeing Dr. Friedman for several years and there is no way I could exaggerate how highly I think of him as a podiatrist and a caring person generally. Plus he has a great sense of humor and that is always appreciated in anybody. I credit him single-handedly from saving me from needing a hip replacement, something I will always be grateful for. I had no idea that one leg was 3/4th of an inch shorter than the other which just means that unchecked a hip replacement was on the horizon. Not only did he detect this but gave me information on it and provided affordable orthotics and what kinds of lifts I should use in the shoes without orthotics. He also gave me free of charge several foam (?) lifts to use in the meantime. In addition I had also developed very pronounced bunions on both of my feet which caused pain since my shoes weren't wide enough. Again he provided me information on bunions and suggested in detail what to do about them and products to use to halt the progression. Since using the correct shoes are crucial he gave me an extensive list on what types of shoes to buy in different categories (walking, dress, etc.) including where to get them. I could not think more highly of Dr. Friedman and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a quality podiatrist. I've taken my quadriplegic sister to Dr. Friedman since June 2013. From the first appointment he gave advice on her next pair of shoes, that she needed a bigger toe box and he sent us to Tenni-Moc's. I even applied this "bigger toe box" advice to myself and my toes feel much better. This advice alone made a world of difference in my sister's foot care.
