Merch is available for purchase alongside the front desk by the museum's front entrance. Duke Ellington's original handwritten manuscript for song entitled "Harlem Air Shaft." & Duke Ellington's Baby Grand Piano have been upon display at National Jazz Museum of Harlem. Jazz is one of my favorite genres of music, and I look forward to always visiting this museum where Jazz ic celebrated. Fantastic events / exhibits have been held throughout the years & include the following: 1.) Performances by Jazz Power Initiative & Virgin Island Jazz Collective. 2.) The Intergenerational Jazz Power Jam w/ Nikara Warren & Saxophonist Craig along w/ Dr. E & Jazzpower. Nikara Warren performed selections from her debut album, "Black Wall Street." 3.) "The Soul of Jazz in American Adventure" Exhibit - based on Disney / Pixar's "Soul". 4.) Oh the infamous Electric Zoo. There was so much controversy behind this festival this year. Despite…read moreall the mishaps, I would say I had a decently good time. Of course there were some qualms, but I felt like one of the lucky ones who was left relatively unscathed. It was a bummer that Friday was canceled, but I still got to attend Saturday and Sunday's festivities. Saturday went pretty smoothly and I got to see my favorite DJ's. It was laughable that the main stage wasn't completed and the screens looked like they were malfunctioning. I was right under the circular hanging structure, and was praying that it didn't fall. Sunday felt a little more stuffy and crowded and we were packed like sardines. I was lucky to be able to get in the fairgrounds in time right before people started bum rushing. Also, I didn't realize the day before, but the sages that were right next to each had horrible sound bleed. Who had the genius idea of placing two stages next to each other that shared a wall?! The bus system getting us to the subway went smoothly, but just had to wait due to the crowds of people. Despite having a good experience, with some inconviencies, I don't think I'd be attending again. After attending raves run by Insomniac, the quality of production is very evident.

Good times, good vibes and good people. Everyone's there having a good time and spreading good energy. No judgement on what people wear, just wanting to have fun. Brooklyn Mirage bought ezoo and switched things up a bit this year. I think it was their best year yet! The music wasn't bleeding from the other stages and no crazy, massive swarms of people. I never felt overcrowded at any point. They really upgraded things! Can't wait for next year!

The space itself feels like art. With six floors of galleries, we happily worked our way down, taking in incredible paintings, sculptures, and powerful works from so many talented artists -- including inspiring artists-in-residence. The collection feels vibrant and meaningful, and the layout allows you to really slow down and experience each floor. There's also a lovely gift shop and café area where you can grab a coffee and pastry and relax for a bit. It's easily accessible by subway, the staff is warm and incredibly helpful, and the entire experience feels fresh and exciting. Check it out -- you won't be sorry.

The sessions are free of charge, but please contribute to the tip jar or their Venmo! The apartment is full of Miss Marjorie's memories. Poignant, joyous, and a little sad. They serve little snacks and water and sometimes juice. The music really is wonderful, but Miss Marjorie and Rudel are the most genuine, kind, talented people, and they are amazing for sharing themselves and their home with us. This is my New York.
