Like many mountain courses, I was afraid it was going to be a bit gimmicky but I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't at all. There were several elevated tees, rolling (even slanted) fairways, it never felt like it was too much at any time. The course was in great shape, especially considering it's been 100 degrees and more throughout my Salt Lake City visit. Outside of a few holes, the course is pretty narrow and will require some straight shooting. The greens were a trip because at times they were quick and then they would slow down considerably. Many of them had several tiers which proved to be tough at times. Overall, I had a great experience and had it with a great rate for some good golf. No cart girl but I'm guessing the 104 temp caused that. On an amazing customer service note, when I finished the drink area was closed and when I asked one of the instructors if there was somewhere else I could buy something, he gave me one of his own Gatorades. Super nice! Hydrate and have a blast.

The course is nothing spectacular--a lot of holes are straight, and there aren't a lot of hazards. Especially for beginning and intermediate golfers, Murray Parkway is great because there is a "bail out" area on nearly every hole, where you can hit a bad shot and still end up in the rough (or maybe even the neighboring fairway). The groundskeepers do a pretty good job too, the course is in solid shape. Because of its central location in the valley, and because it's a pretty beginner-friendly course, you'll definitely want to get a tee time here. I also realized on the 2nd hole I had forgotten my sand wedge on the practice green and the course attendant drove all the way back to find it and being it to me. The course is immaculately maintained for a public course and isn't too expensive. It plays reasonably challengingly with a decent amount of water and some tough greens/pin placements but fairways are reasonably wide and forgiving. Fantastic views of the mountains abound!
