I went here recently after driving around Paradise salons on a Saturday that have signs that say…read more"walk ins welcome" and finding them all to be closed. Finally I found this salon, and came with a photo of what I was aiming for. I knew nothing about this particular salon going in. Upon arrival there were 2 employees standing around and no customers. I was snapped up by the younger of the two. The technique used by the person who cut my hair was less than impressive, I'm really accustomed to people layering my hair with traditional hair cutting scissors, here they use thinning shears and razor. That would be fine if the outcome was OK, I've had a couple stylists uses those techniques and left happy. The outcome on my hair this time was not OK. It doesn't lay well, it's a mess, it looks really thin. I'm not sure what to do with it because I didn't want to take off significant length but now I think I'm going to have to. I'm used to going to random walk in places, but in the future if I'm going to do that I'll drive down to JCP salon or Regis in Chico. Usually when I walk out of a salon I leave happier than when I went in, that wasn't true here. I left knowing I was going to have to get it cut again by someone else. In other situations I might talk to the stylist to get what I want a little better, in this instance she saw I was unhappy with part, went to fix it and it didn't really help. Scared to make things worse, I opted to leave rather than give her an opportunity to fix it again, because I want there to be something left for a better stylist to work with. I had mentioned to the stylist I have a job interview in a few days, so I went hoping to get a nice confidence building and professional haircut. The ladies that work there are all very sweet and take the time to make conversation and get to know you. It's never boring sitting there waiting for your hair be done because they always are interested in talking and having fun. They are not the most professional, but that doesn't bother me much. The one thing that does is the cleanliness of the building. There are ceiling tiles missing, and when then get busy, the cut hair is left on the floor (thus the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) Altogether, I'm always happy after going there!

Quilla Sorensen does a fantastic job for me and I love her positive attitude and hilarious sense of humor. The salon is welcoming with tons of greenery. Makes for a relaxing, but somehow invigorating atmosphere. Quilla's chair partner, Britney, does a great job for her clients too; I see them walking out looking with a shiny and well-styled hairdo! I was lucky enough to nab Quilla via a referral from a stylist who left a couple of years back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her for anyone looking for a stylist; I am just happy she is at Da Capo as the owner, Danielle, has great taste and did a fab job with her salon! They require payment information in case you don't show up for your appointment but then they are the ones who can't show up. Pretty unprofessional. I'm taking this as a sign not to get my hair done here. Going somewhere that will make me feel valued and won't waste my time.

The hair that remained, continues to have the texture of steel wool, and is yellowish- green in color. Add to that, a chemical stink which is still there 5 months later! I wrote a letter to her describing my bad experience , and got no response. This made me mad enough to ask for a refund. I wrote a letter (to the owner this time) asking for a refund. I got the refund, but not a word of apology. This is why I am writing this review. A simple apology would have made all the difference.
