And honestly…read moreit was out of fear of what the preschool would do to my child but I hope this review can save another parent and child from the heartbreak it has caused my family. I have spent this summer rebuilding my son's confidence and self esteem to remind him that he is an amazing boy I'll prefece this review with my son tested gifted and was diagnosed with ADHD. However a lot of the "behaviors" are typical for a 4/5 year old as I've been told by two different child psychologists, our pediatrician, and an OT. As the parent of a young child, I enrolled my son in this Peace Lutheran preschool hoping for a compassionate, developmentally informed environment. While the school presents itself as nurturing and structured, our experience revealed a concerning lack of understanding and preparedness among the teaching staff and administration for supporting children that may not fit the "box". One of the most difficult aspects of our time here was realizing that the staff--though well-meaning--lacked basic training in managing and engaging with children who exhibit ADHD-related behaviors. Rather than using strategies I shared with them or showing flexibility, teachers frequently responded to my son's impulsivity and energy with frustration or disciplinary measures that did not address the root of the behavior. There was little to no sign of inclusivity within the classroom. It became apparent that behaviors that are common in children that are neurodivergent, were labeled as misbehavior, and my child was often treated as a problem to be managed rather than a student to be supported. The lack of understanding from staff led not only to missed learning opportunities but also to a negative impact on my son's self-esteem and sense of belonging. What was most disheartening was the unwillingness to collaborate or grow. When we raised concerns and offered to share resources, the response was often defensive rather than welcomed. There was no indication that the staff or leadership were interested in seeking professional development or creating a more inclusive environment. We ultimately made the decision to leave the program, and thankfully have found a new preschool where the staff are trained, compassionate, and adaptable. My son is now thriving in an environment where his needs are met with skill and empathy. To any parent of a neurodiverse child considering this school: please proceed with caution. And to the leadership of this preschool--these children deserve better. With the right training and mindset, you could become the kind of place where all children can thrive. I sincerely hope you choose that path.

However, walking into BSP and meeting Ms Carmela and the other amazing teachers, left us with a sense of relief. Then when our kids started, the teachers kindness/support towards all the children and staff's great communication with parents only reinforced our decision. Both our kids graduated from BSP! Our most recent just this last Fall. Our kids loved their teachers and friends. It's like a little family that was created with the kids and parents. Let start with what just happened this last Wednesday. My wife goes to pick up my son however he comes out without his back pack or water bottle we sent him with so my wife kindly ask that we do bring it back because we do use it for more occasions other than school. 10 minutes later the teacher comes back empty handed and asks my wife to go back and look for it herself. After instructing my wife that it should be with one of the cubby's, we realize he doesn't have his own cubby in the 2's room. Understandable considering he's transitioning into the 3's room. Well after no luck in the 2's she moves into the 3's room to find his backpack simply just sitting on a desk in the middle of the room. Fair enough, we recognized this was a newer teacher however, after careful inspection she realized even in the 3's room he didn't have his own cubby. My son has no designated spot for him in this school. Well, as upset as she is she takes my son home and notices a smell. Well, he's almost 3 in the process of potty training so maybe an accident? No. And old accident they didn't even bother to change his underwear after, as well as residuals on my sons butt from not being properly cleaned up. What's the point of sending the 3 back up pairs of clothes they specifically ask for if they're not going to bother changing my son after an accident, so now he has an awful rash that pains him just to sit down Now onto the tuition. For the last several months my wife and I have been paying for three days a week for my son to attend. Just recently my wife moved to part-time at her work and was able to take him usually an extra day so sometimes we would only need two days of daycare. After I personally spoke to the Director of the kids Academy daycare I was given the OK to only have to pay for two days of daycare. After about three weeks of doing so the Director comes back and tells me I've been under paying and I need to make sure that I pay back the remaining that I owe. well apparently she was talking about the extra day that we hadn't been paying for for the last couple of weeks because she told me I didn't have to. So they want to head and back charged me charging me a total of $250 cover the current weeks tuition of three days and the last couple of days we DIDNT send my son. Now they expect me to pay for 3 days even if he only attends 2 to make sure to "keep his spot". I'm sorry, what did I pay his $125 enrollment for? Oh right, HIS SPOT. I'm sorry Kids Academy but we as parents have been dreading our son going to your daycare we've even decided to send him elsewhere. Big disappointment and don't waste your money on this careless daycare that smells like dirty diapers the second you walk in. Disgusting

This chapter was a huge transition for both of us. I put my trust and heart in the hands of The Kids Academy. They were so supportive to my son and to me. I am so grateful because as hard as the transition was, they were patient, kind and caring. I would call daily to check up on him. My son grew to love this place and so did I! He became potty trained in a very short time frame. I noticed his vocabulary and speech enhance as he was talking more than ever in full sentences! Her experience as a teacher was paramount because she so obviously understood what was needed to reach our specific goals. She was so respectful and considerate in all of her communication and recommendations (and quick to respond always). I really felt like she came from a place of compassion and understanding and never a place of judgement. Beyond helping with the school situation, she spent time with our family to offer ideas and methods to help us with the behavior issues we were seeing at home. I really appreciated the graceful manner in which she integrated into our family dynamic - so that she could really see what was happening and offer realistic and helpful advice. Her services provided me with a sense that I have the emotional tools to be the best parent possible for our child. I'd recommend her in a heartbeat to any parent needing any advocacy help.

My child has gone here for over a year and a half since they were just over 3 months old. The care…read moreprovided for my child has been nothing short of amazing. I had no issues with military subsidy, they were quick to handle any paperwork, and the only delay was on the governmental side. At one point the subsidy was over 4 months delayed due to the government program being backlogged, when everything was finalized they credited my account with the full back pay. They went above and beyond when they noticed the subsidy program had used an incorrect rate and discounted my cost to make up for that difference. The value provided is second to none, they provide diapers, wipes and food for the infants and toddlers, we breast fed so I'm not sure about formula. The fact that we have gone almost a year and a half only needing to purchase diapers for our home use has been a huge financial bonus to us. Education wise my child has learned multiple signs, several words, dances to songs, and made so many friends. The staff are so friendly and attentive, and practically over communicators when it comes to things going on at the childcare facility or if our child bumps his head or gets a scrape or anything like that. They also use an app to send updates throughout the day, and pictures and videos of your child so you can see what they have been up to. The app also is used for diaper change tracking, naps and food. I cannot overstate how amazing this facility is, they do everything they can to help, they were providing food and necessities to families of the children there that were in need during the government shutdown this past fall, and they treat every child like family. The facility is clean, the food prep area has an A from the health inspector, and somehow they get my picky eater to try all kinds of stuff. If I could give them 10 stars I would, this is a fantastic childcare facility and the best part is the staff.

Website: http://coppercreek.dvusd.org I have two children with special needs issues. I came into the school with documentation for both from developmental preschools nearby that had either worked with them and had them tested by state representation or they had previously qualified for the Deer Valley School District's developmental delay preschool. This had no effect on them entering Kindergarden. And what I mean by this is that the school didn't do anything with the documentation, they certainly didn't implement any protocols or testing from the get go. I wish they had. They had to do their own assessment that took at times FOREVER to do. But policy is policy. I'd rather a more proactive approach. (Per AZ state law you can expedite this process, I did not, I wish I had for both children.) That being said, although the few frustrations I had with that, which were purely procedural, my time at the school was outstanding. The staff and teachers are amazing! (Mary, the front office secretary is on the ball! I hope she is still there with them!) Especially for the special needs department. I heard good things going in and I was not disappointed. I was with the school for 7 years. Some teachers are fantastic, (many of them have been at the school for years!) others were so so, but I'm generalizing over 7 years. The school switched Principals the end of 2013. I was not fond of the replacement Principal, however she was only there for the last end of the school year. Replacement was remedied with Mrs. McNeill in 2014-15 school year. She's fantastic. I have only good things to say about her leadership. In all, every public school is going to be reactionary instead of proactive. If you have a child with some behavior issues, I highly recommend this school because the staff here are in my opinion, fantastic. I felt respected as a member of the IEP team, they listened to my concerns and we all worked to help my children be the most successful. And THEY did go far, and I'm absolutely certain it was because of everyone's hard work. This location is land locked. So the school boundaries make the attendance in the class rooms reasonably sized. I lived out of the school zone and attended under a variance the full 7 years my children attended there. Never had a problem with getting the variance. I can't see that anyone else would if they applied for one. (It's pretty easy, the spring before the school year you are having your child attend, contact the office and they will help get you the paperwork.) The down side of this is that your child will not ride the bus. We left the school this school year 2016-17 because we moved to another location still in the same district but closer to Las Brisas, which from what I've been told is very much like Copper Creek. I'm sure at some point I'll be reviewing that one too. Some teachers from Copper Creek moved to Las Brisas, but that's not why we moved. After 7 years picking kids up, we decided to have them go to the new school they were zoned for and have them ride the bus. So far they are doing well at the new school. But I miss the relationships I had at Copper Creek. Around the corner from Copper Creek Elementary, is Hillcrest Middle School. Students who attend the Elementary school K-6 then attend Hillcrest. And then attend Mountain Ridge High School after that. All the schools are within the same block of each other. But they have the release times staggered so there usually isn't too much overlap. Its a pretty sweet setup if you ask me. Middle school aged kids, can literally walk down the street and pick up their Elementary aged siblings. Wish I lived closer, would have loved to have taken advantage of that. In all, my experience there was a VERY positive one. Will miss Copper Creek dearly!
