Feeling pumped after last weekend's recital as are my two musicians (12yr old drummer, 10yr old pianist). They've been coming to Roo's for a few years now and have had a great experience with their teachers. They started doing recitals this year and Roo's has a great set up to help them feel like performers, but in a comfortable, supportive environment that's not overwhelming. Both kiddos had such a confidence boost after the first one and now practice on their own without being asked. And the owners, Josh and Liz, are great and make us feel like part of a music community. Our drummer is dropping in as I write this to try out the new rock band class and I'll be signing up our 5yr old to start lessons soon. read more

I walked in interested in a piano lesson. I am a 46 mom that has a son next door taking Jiu Jitsu. I always loved piano and decided why not? It's great for the mind. So moments later I am sitting in front of a beautiful black grand piano learning to read and understand all the notes and symbols on the music sheets. Liz was my very patient instructor. She is absolutely amazing and very knowable. After an hour I was hooked. I signed up for membership since I m here anyway for my son weekly. Music is great for the mind and soul. My son has been taking guitar lessons for almost 3 years at the San Clemente location and I cannot recommend them enough. The instructors really focus on the music that the student WANTS to play. My son practices every day on both acoustic and electric because he is learning Green Day, Foo Fighters, etc. He is motivated because they individualize their instruction. We love Roos Music! My boys are starting with drums, and my daughter is starting with voice and piano, and they all loved it so much! So a welcoming place for the kids- they walked out of their very first lessons so excited that they wanted to sign up to come multiple times a week! It is a little tricky to find the front door the first time, so give yourself a few extra minutes to find it, and then once you know, then it's easy. Roos Studios welcomed me right away, calling me less than half an hour after I submitted an on-line form requesting more information. They set me up with a wonderful teacher who was kind and patient with me. Roos has an app which makes it very easy for classes to be moved/rescheduled as well as communicating with the teachers. The front desk folks were more than happy to help in any way necessary and made me feel comfortable from the moment I started. Had an awesome experience taking my little one in for his first drum lesson. Jonah was extremely knowledgeable on approaches to helping young kids lay the foundation for learning an instrument and making associations with rhythm, pitch, and dynamics in ways that are fit for kiddos. We signed our daughter up for guitar lessons here. She had little self taught knowledge from help from dad and grandpa. After just a few lessons, she took off! She's gotten so good and we are so grateful to the teachers here. They're amazing! Every room has a camera in it, and in the waiting area they have huge monitors where you can watch the lesson! The building stays locked and requires a code to get in. Safety is huge for me and everything here was so reassuring. We only stopped lessons because my husband received orders back to the east coast. We will miss this place. read more

I have been studying in Roos Studio for more than a year since last year. When I first came here, my English was not very good because I came from abroad. However, the reception teacher who received me and the piano teacher who arranged for me were very patient and caring for me. In addition, they provided me with many options of piano teachers before the class, and I was allowed to choose the best teacher suitable for my level. He would call me before every class to help me arrange lessons, and ask me how I was after class... The studio changed location this year and the previous location was very good, well equipped and very clean. The newly relocated address this year is full of sunshine, from the glass room into the room looks very beautiful, the lounge has a comfortable sofa and coffee machine and a variety of drinks... I really can't describe how much I like Roos Studio, and I will continue to study music here until I leave after graduation. Even without classes, I am very lucky and grateful to everyone I know in Roos, my teachers, and the receptionist . Everyone is great at Roos! My daughters have taken voice/piano lessons from various instructors and have even had the opportunity to test out violin and percussion during a make-up lesson. I really appreciate how the instructors tailor the lessons for each student. One instructor started my daughter off learning piano chords (versus reading individual notes) and she was able to accompany herself singing multiple songs right off the bat, just in time to perform for a Christmas talent show...very gratifying for her. I saw Roo's was not only close to my house but they offer a free lesson so I had nothing to lose. I love it. Macy was the one teaching me she is AMAZING.
