June 11,2024 Came here furniture shopping with my friend who is in need of new furniture. This was her only choice of where she wanted to go. It's been awhile for me since shopping at Rooms to Go. Their pricing is extremely low compared to competitors. Even though my friend asked for a discount and was shot down. Since the furniture is priced so low they do charge you for delivery. Also they will not remove your old furniture for you. They suggested my friend to call to get it picked up by a charity. But unfortunately that advice was not correct so she had to pay another company to get her old furniture removed. They carry some unusual fashion pieces that is priced so well you can afford to change out your furniture often. read more

This King sized bed frame was purchased from Rooms to Go. I noticed the headboard wobble first after assemble and putting a Costco mattress on the frame. The headboard is too heavy for just two screw to hold it in place. I did not know more was in store for this bed. I was able to put blankets behind the headboard to stop the wobble. Next came the slats that hold up the mattress to give out over and over and over again. The screw (one screw) hold one side of the slat & its boards are weak and break. The legs have (one screw) and broke off. Then the sideboards warped while I was away from the home for nine months. Then it broke in two. Less than four years and the bed is trash. I cannot resell a bed like this. There are Facebook groups that talk bad about Rooms to Go. So many in each state. There are bad feedback online and even a Youtube video talking about the poor construction with a similar platform bed. The furniture is not worth it. Many people in the South sell their furniture what they pay for it (unlike in California) And I cannot even sell it. Rooms to Go did not take responsibility. I took Rooms to Go to Court and they did not show up. I am now awaiting the ruling. I just want to take my time to tell people of Alabama do not support this trash company. Trash! read more

UPDATE: Today after posting my review, we were personally contacted by the store Manager Anthony. Anthony worked with us all day today to try and resolve the situation with our furniture issues. This included a personal home visit by Anthony who hand delivered a replacement night stand for us. Anthony also took the damaged night stand back with him and credited some of our purchases for us. I have updated my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. And I would like to give Anthony 5 stars for taking the lead and making things right for us. We are happy to put this experience behind us and are satisfied with what Anthony did to try and resolve the situation. I have been dealing with the ineptitude and poor customer service and shoddy quality of furniture coming from this store every week since June. Because they are receiving poor quality furniture from Mexico or, their warehouse staff are sadistic, we have had delivery people at our home every week for the last month to deliver and then return of the same damaged night stand. Each time the night stand was delivered, I personally watched the item being uncrated and each time, the night stand was damaged in shipping and not by the contractor who makes deliveries for Rooms to Go. Four times! Four damaged night stands. Days of wasted time on our part, gas and wages and time wasted on delivery by contractors. This last damaged item is going back and we now have to deal with "Johnny" the store manager. No last name, no personal visit. No offer for us to actually be able to pick up a show room piece to make us happy. Now we can get to the $1000.00 entertainment center that was delivered damaged on 8/1/23. It too was uncrated by the contractor and we all witnessed that damage on the top of the piece is cracked. Photos were taken and we talked to Johnny at the store and all he would give us was a refund of delivery charges. We're keeping this piece because it took over a month to receive it. We asked for 50% refund to keep the damaged piece but Johnny refused. So, we're done with doing business with Rooms to Go not only here in Montgomery but Nationwide. The brand itself is irreparably damaged. There is no corporate or managerial oversight. No one cares about the customer. We're stuck with a poor experience and shoddy furniture. We spent thousands of dollars at that store and we're treated like they don't know what we're talking about. It truly is a battle of attrition with this corporation and this store. We've been patient and they have pushed us off for a month or more. We've gotten to know the delivery crews really well. They're not to be blamed, they aren't the ones damaging these pieces of furniture because we're right there when they deliver and uncrate things. We looked at the Better Business Bureau rating for this Montgomery location and it's 1.76 out of 5. So poorly rated that they aren't even receiving a Better Business Bureau accreditation. Avoid this store completely. You'd be better off on milk crates and 2x8 lumber. read more

The problem is with delivery. My window was 3-7 pm. At 6:30 am I was awakened by the driver saying they would arrive in about an hour. After my waiting all day they finally showed up at 3 pm as originally scheduled. No excuse for deliberately inconveniencing customers. read more

Salesperson Judy was high pressure. When I started talking price, she blew me off and started working my 80 year old mother-in-law, whom we were shopping for. Looked at the posted advertising price of $299 and then she started adding additional costs. I. E. delivery from Atlanta, etc which the new coat is $641. What?? When I started discussing military discounts - I was told plain out ....no. Sje sternly said - "Talk to the manager." Then when I approached him and asked it was a plain "no". So, Maxwell stay away. If you make the mistake of ordering furniture from Rooms to Go, I hope you don't get any defective items. If you do, you will have to jump through hoops to get them to replace or refund it. I purchased a manual reclining sofa that within a few months the frame broke on. I had to take a day off work to have a service tech come out to look at it, it took him all of five seconds to determine the problem. They luckily were able to replace it with another one within a couple of weeks. Fast forward another few months and the replacement also suffered the same failure. After having to wait a month for a tech to come out, I wasn't able to be home, because they only call you the day before to let you know the time that they will be there. Now after having to wait another month, and had to take another day off work, for a tech to come out and tell me what I have already told Rooms to Go, the frame is broken, the tech canceled. So now I have missed a day of work and they are telling me that they are unable to work with me and schedule a time that works for me, just a day. Now I have to miss another day of work to hopefully not have them cancel again. Save your money and buy from a better company that actually respects their customers. read more

My 5 star rating is not for RTG customer service reps. it's for store manager John Martin. A 4 week pre planned delivery was still incorrect. After speaking with customer service and supervisor I was told I would have to wait almost 2 weeks for a bed (it's the holiday and never mind it's for a 93 year old. I contacted the Montgomery store and John went to work on my behalf, 2 days later I had my correct delivery now that's customer service, thank you John. read more

5 stars goes to Anteidra Harris! She works over in the kids section and I've never been more comfortable with a furniture salesperson. She was so helpful at helping us pick out our crib and dresser and she did not pressure us at all. Her warm demeanor and professionalism eliminated all stress for this new mom. Don't buy furniture from here!! The in store staff is friendly and receptive. Easily troubleshooting issues I had with an order of a bunk bed for my daughter. The furniture selection is nice and I like their protection plan offer They have horrible customer service. Once you make your purchase, they take your money. Then you no longer deal with the store front. I've waited 3 months for my daughter's bed. First because the original color she wanted was on back order. And i didnt want her to be without a bed for that long, changed the color. Then they said it would be there September 25th, but they had to change that. Then once they finally came to deliver and put the bed together all the hardware was missing and i had to wait two weeks for them to finally send the correct hardware. What do they offer for all the hoops you have to jump through? $50 gift card to their store or a $25 credit. That's crazy and really shows they don't care about their customers once they run your card. read more

Several months ago bought two pieces of furniture that I discovered had a problem. When leaning on the arms of both pieces there is a popping sound. Technician heard problem and sound but some how this is not a defect. So check all aspects of your furniture pieces before you accept them. Defects are allowed to be sold. Rooms-to-go in Montgomery AL - their furniture isn't for the long run. It looks all pretty in the store and of course, you are excited to go furniture shopping because you see all the nice things they have. But their things will NOT hold up. I've had my couches a little over three years and there are so many strings hanging loose, you would think it's a mop. (I don't have kids or animals.) No matter how much you clean them, they always look dingy. They are easy to ruin and after over a year, they just look run down. I tried to buy new cushions for my furniture and was told I was still under warranty. I said "OK. Perfect." They said a tech would call me, which he did, and he told me that my warranty was up - he's not sure why they told me that. Then went on to tell me I couldn't buy new cushions......AT ALL. That didn't sound right. I called the store and asked if I could buy new cushions. They said yes and went on to tell me how, which was pretty much enough for me to say nevermind in the end because of all the hoops I had to jump through. So, just know, if you decide to buy from them, just beware of certain policies. I gave them three stars because their staff was friendly. And just to add - when the furniture was delivered, the movers were setting the couch down and set it too close to the wall and destroyed an outlet. I live in an apartment complex. I told them it was okay, but they didn't apologize or anything they just quickly left. They barely help put the furniture in the right place. My husband and I had to shift everything around. I don't know - maybe they were late for something. The only positive experience was the person we bought from. read more

Bought a power recliner for my husband for Father's Day and the whole experience was wonderful. China Powers, the saleswoman, was knowledgeable about the products and helpful every step of the way. My experience with Rooms-To-Go and Sealy is the worst ever experienced. I purchased a mattress with an adjustable base frame from Rooms-To-Go, manufactured by Sealy. Be aware that when you purchase an item from Rooms-To-Go, you can give the sales rep an available day for delivery, but you cannot give a time frame. You will be notified 2 days before your scheduled delivery day of the time frame for delivery. If the time frame is not suitable on your available day, you must contact customer service and follow that same unmanageable scheduling process. I had to ask a neighbor to carry my husband to dialysis so that I could be at home to accept a delivery during the time frame that was good for Rooms-To-Go and not good for me, the customer. When the mattress and adjustable base arrived, the base had a clicking sound. The delivery rep would not return the mattress and base. I was told to call customer service to have the base repaired. When I called Rooms-To-Go customer service, I was routed to Sealy, the manufacturer of the mattress and base. When I informed the Sealy Rep that I could not crawl under the bed to get the box that controlled the base, I was instructed to call them back when I had someone available to crawl under the bed. The rep insisted that the box needed resetting and a service rep is not called to reset the box. When I called local Rooms-To-Go customer service and informed the manager of the response from Sealy, I was told that a local repairman was not available to fix the problem. When I threatened to request a return and refund, I was told that the 5-year warranted stated by the sales rep was not true. On the back of the sales receipt, is a statement written in small print that upon delivery there was a no refund policy. The manager stated that if I requested a new base, I would be charged even if the original base was broken I called the 800 Customer Delivery Service, and the rep contacted the local office to get a repair man to service the base. Again I went through the unmanageable sceduling process to get a repairman to come to service the base. Two weeks later, when the service man arrived he determines that the box is broken and needs replacing. It was not a simple reset issue as insisted by the Sealy Rep. I go through another unmanageable scheduling process to get a base replacement. I got the base yesterday, Oct. 18, 2018. I ordered the mattress and adjustable base on August 26, 2018. It took almost 2 months to get a properly working base for my mattress. read more

I ordered living room furniture from RTG- my actual experience in the store was good. The sale representative was nice, although she did try and upsale me with the warranty and other things I did not need. The real problems started when my couch and other furniture was suppose to be delivered. My delivery was scheduled for yesterday, 6/28 with a 4 hour window. So I arranged to be off work and home. About an hour before that window was to close, I got a call from RTG saying that the delivery was running behind, but that my furniture would be at my home no later than 9pm-- which I wasn't thrilled about as I have small children and that is disruptive to bedtime. Well-- 9pm comes and goes and there is no furniture. I finally get a call around 10pm stating that the "truck broke down" and my furniture would not be coming. They rescheduled for the next day (today, Saturday 6/29) at 7am. Well, you guessed it, 7am came and went and no furniture. So I called RTG and now they are telling my my furniture isn't even coming today and the only reason I know this is because I CALLED! No one was going to call me and tell me, I would have just waited around all morning not knowing my furniture wasn't coming. So now they are saying Monday-- so they want be to take a second day off work so that they can give me another 4 hour window. Absolutely not. This is such poor customer service. So I miss 2 days of work and you offer me nothing. I will be cancelling my order. When you read through the reviews, the issue is not with the store, it's with their contracted delivery agencies. They really need to look at finding better people to do business with as they are having orders cancelled and broken left and right. Perhaps they are fine with losing my money, but I would hope something would be done about this. But if you read the reviews, this has been an on-going issue, which tells me that corporate doesn't care that their customers are being treated so poorly. I'm scared to even think about keeping the couch, as at this point it has been on a truck for a day and then taken back to the warehouse and probably load and unloaded. It more than likely has damage, which would mean that it would be EVEN LONGER for me to get my stuff, as I would not accept paying my hard earned money for broken or damaged items. I think the worse part is, they offer you nothing-- sorry, but if my customers were treated so poorly and I was asking them to not work and rearrange their schedule for my mistake I would at least me offering incentives. If we could give zero stars we would! Bought a bedroom set for our son. Deliver supposed to be in between 7 and 1: they never show up. After a phone call with the manager we decided to reschedule. Second attempt, supposed to deliver between 1 and 5. At 6 we were at the store to cancel the order because again nobody showed up. The driver called us at 6.05 saying he'd be at our home in 20 min or so.. the assistant manager tells us that it takes 14 days to refund us the money.. 14 days??? Ridiculous! She said "you can email corporate or whoever you want, there's nothing we can do about it".. smh read more

So mislead!!! My son wrote a review about being mislead on his purchase and yes, I was with him when JUDY sold him a pack of lies! When I called and spoke with JUDY all she only insisted "he got what he paid for sweetie". I then asked for the manager and she put me on eternal hold. DALTON, the manager would never call back so I had my husband call. DALTON told him he they did NOT do refunds and had no idea where my son's box spring and mattress was that they picked up and took when the new one was delivered, then hung up on him! I do not live in Montgomery or I would have been in that store raising HELL! I strongly suggest you don't do NOT business with them because if you get mislead too, they "do not do refunds"! To whom it may concern I'm very disappointed with my delivery service today.1st problem: My daughter bedroom suite foot board was shipped with bad quality the it was cut uneven. The inspector came to review the defect and I had to wait over 3 weeks to have the new foot board shipped in which I had to take off work for and lost a days pay because shipment was scheduled between the hours of 12pm to 4pm. As if my day wasnt already lost My wife was called by customer service to extend my delivery.My delivery time was pushed back between 4pm To 8pm. Ridiculous: The delivery finally showed around 7pm with the wrong color foot board and he was in his personal car. This looked very very unprofessional. Not to mention he said he wasn't the delivery driver that was suppose to make the delivery he was just helping out because was on his way home. You got to be kidding. I'm very disappointed in Rooms To go right now because customer satisfactory starts and ends with you. You have made money .Today I lost money by taking off my job for the delivery and my daughter bedroom suite isn't up to standard. From the great service I received from my salesman in the store I can't believe how this has turned out. Went in here a couple of months ago to look for a canopy bed, mainly just to price them. All of the associates were sitting down up front, and the first sales rep that got to us would've leave us alone for more than two minutes at a time. We had made it very clear that we were not there to purchase anything that night as soon as walked in, but she kept trying to make a sale. When we tried to leave she basically blocked the door, asked if we were sure about not buying anything, and then forced her card into my hand "for when we came back". read more

Just like other reviews the store itself is not the problem. The problem lies with their delivery and customer service department. The people who deliver the furniture are incompetent at best and their customer service department is rude and will give you the run around. Half of our order was not on the truck and was not delivered. We were given a 1-800 number to customer service. The first rep was rude and told us there wasn't anything she could do and to call back after 4:00 pm the following day. We made a total of 4 calls to customer service. Each time we called we were told we would receive a call back. That never happened until the very last time. I do not recommend buying anything from Rooms To Go. read more

Buyer beware! At first glance furniture is beautiful. Don't be fooled the QUALITY IS HORRIBLE! The pillows go flat like a pancake within months. The sofas are cheaply made. The Cindy Crawford set I bought I've since seen other customers trying to sell the same set on yard sale websites. I'm in search for a new set as we speak. This is the greasiest possible place to buy furniture. Their sales representative Judy pulled a quick one on me and told me I was getting a bed and riser for a really good price. Turns out I received something completely different. Then when I contacted her she said that it would cost a lot more to get what we had originally AGREED UPON. Then, their manager said that they did not do returns and said he had no idea where my bed and box spring that they had taken was. The worst place possible. Worst purchase ever. Purchased furniture from Rooms to Go in Montgomery, AL. Purchased furniture during a promotional offer which I was told it was 0% interest for 6 months by the sales representative & management, when actually it was 0% Interest "deferred" for 6 months. Which I found out after trying to pay the amount in full that is listed on my account online that they charge the interest up front if you don't pay it off in the 6 months time frame. They switched the statements after sending me an initial statement stating the terms the Representative who sold me the furniture stated. I recommend please read the fine fine very small print. They hit me for over $600 in interest and I was only one month off from paying the full amount. I called the customer service line and with the supervisor on 3 way from the store so they could here the deceptive tactics they used to swindle me out of my money. I wouldn't have agreed to the contract knowing the interest was 34.99% after the "0 for 6 months no interest " as I was told in the first place. This company takes advantage of those who have fair credit and in need of furniture. This company not only did that, but in the mist of the epidemic that has hit our country unexpectedly doesn't care about still putting hard earnest working consumers in further debt. Debt that is more than half of the original amount financed. I recommend reading the fine print! They are non-negotiable and greedy! I asked the representative what the company was doing for those in the mist of the epidemic and she told me that they were only deferring the payments for this month putting it on the back end and still charging compound interest on top of the deferred interest which was the 6 months interest plus monthly still outside of the promotion offer. It wasn't a deal it was a scam! I was so disgusted with the tactics used being a sales representative myself. I believe in giving people the information and allowing them to choose so there want be any remorse. I feel sorry for those who currently are still financing with this company or even planning on purchasing from Rooms to Go in the future. They discriminate with interest rates and trap you into compound interest contracts. There is no deal or empathy for the consumer. I wish I would've researched the finance company ahead of time. My husband and I have shopped at Rooms to Go since 2013. We will no longer give our business to R2G. We always purchase warranties upon purchasing our furniture. The one time out of four purchases we attempt to file a claim, we were told so many different things from the sales associates in the store all the way up to corporate office. The worst parts of the claim process was being told by the supervisor of customer care "Leather doesn't tear", ha. It's man made sir. Then the lady from the corporate office states the "manufacture warranty only applies if furniture is damaged when delivered but upon purchase we were told manufacture warranty is good for a year. Long story short they do not value their customers and do not honor warranties. We will never ever purchase furniture from R2G again and will no longer refer other people to purchase furniture from them. read more

I booked a mattress and scheduled a delivery on Thursday. Delivery guy came to my apartments and called me for entry code but i was busy on another call. So he left and when i called him back after 5-10 minutes, he said mattress will go back to Atlanta and has to reschedule the delivery. I was very disappointed, he was just in the town but don't want to come back to delivery. When i called Rooms to go, they said we can't reschedule until Mattress is checked-in back to Atlanta. What a stupid system! Now i have to wait for a whole week to get it. Can't delivery guy simply contact the apartment lease office and get the security code? I never received call from UPS, USPS or Fedex to get security code for any of my delivery. read more

My husband and I LOVED working Judy at Rooms to Go in Montgomery! She is the most knowledgeable sales person and so kind and considerate. We had an excellent experience with Judy and her follow-up with our order. She called us back after experiencing a very bad delivery from the contract workers with RTG. Those guys just dropped our sectional in the middle of our living room floor without setting it up or installing the connecting pieces, they damaged our freshly painted walls with furniture all over our home, they damaged a night stand and didn't bother placing it beside the bed bc they had placed the bed too close to the wall and left it for us to try to pick up a queen size bed and move it! They also left an empty box in another bedroom, and didn't place furniture in the places we needed. It was the worst delivery experience I have ever had. If I could only rate the delivery service I would rate 0 stars. I would give Judy 5 stars, so I chose the middle (3 stars) read more

This has been one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. Just paid for bedroom furniture today-May 30 and was told that the furniture would not be delivered until August 10.
