This store sells many nice things for the home that you can buy on the spot, but the store is also the base for people who want to get a professional to help decorate their homes Yates & Kennedy occupies about 500 square feet on Commercial St, and owner Mitch Yates has created areas throughout the shop that teem with personality. The shop, which has been around for over 10 years is chock-a-block full. Antelope horns lean against agate bookends, watermark pillows rest next to small oil paintings, and claw-foot candlesticks, magnifying glasses and a jewel-encrusted crown share table space. A variety of vintage wallpaper serves as backdrops to the diverse assortment. Yates has even created a space for a great assortment of espadrilles and hand screened T-shirts by his best friend, John Kennedy. The shop, like a room with character, is spirited and charming. When you visit, plan to spend some time there; you never know what you'll uncover.

I found a beautiful pillow that I feel in love with. I ended up leaving without purchasing it. Only to think a about the pillow all day. In the end deciding to return and make the pillow mine. I found the owner friendly and kind, yet a little soft spoken. He seemed to appreciate customers commenting on his beautiful items. Ultimately I was thrilled that I stepped foot in Yates & Kennedy and I will think of that store fondly each time I gaze upon my gorgeous pillow while at home. Even if you are not planning on purchasing you should stop in to Yates & Kennedy just to take in the beauty.

I live in LA and the gift I wanted delivered was for a dear friend in Provincetown. He just suffered a loss and I had no desire to buy flowers. The man I spoke to was one of the owners and he was so sweet to me. I am pretty upset over the loss of my friend so I rambled and rambled some more and he was kind and patient. The photos of the store are beautiful and I am sure their prices are reasonable. I bought a super unique windchime with stained glass all in different colors. It was in my price range and he is going to deliver it himself for me today. I don't think he even charged me for delivery. A photo of it is attached. He knew of the couple I was sending the gift to and knew where they lived. It is a small, friendly town. I wish I could recall the name of the owner I spoke to, but I am a tad brain dead today. He was just so sweet. You know, the kind of person you want to hug and be friends with. Go there or order from there. Just call them and they will help you. They have a great selection of gifts and plants and cards. Thank you Botanica.

There are a lot of dog gifts and the owners are clearly dog lovers. My furry beast was welcomed and that was appreciated. The guys are very friendly and helped me find a gift that I will value. Outside the store they had welcome mats made of dock line that a friend of mine had been eyeing. I convinced her that today was the day we should buy it. So we grabbed the mat and headed inside. It is a tight store full of lots of beachy themed novelties. As we were meandering our way through we passed by the register. I asked the man behind the counter if we could leave our items that we were definitely purchasing at the counter while we continued through the store. I would not say that he was overly friendly, but he also did not yell at me. He agreed that we could leave them there. While continuing to shop I found a couple of must haves. One was what I consider a beautiful piece. It was a whale made of pottery and then painted. I fell in love with it. I also found some great Christmas ornaments that I will give as gifts. Overall, I very much enjoyed my walk through the store and the items that I found. I would return. Maybe the owner / worker has softened throughout the years? Find out for yourself. And good luck!

I was going to buy the book but then he acted maliciously. The common theme of these reviews is that he loses out on business because of his nasty behavior. People are enjoying themselves so he decides to insert himself to make the moment negative. I wouldn't shop here. It's 50/50 your day is ruined by some bald, unhappy man who never learned customer service.
