The gallery is divided into 2 sections. Lounge / house music playing through a very un-boombox like boombox - not too loud, mixed very well with the cool and soothing vibe of the place - with walls all painted in neutral colors - mostly a hue of white mixed with light grey. They have art on display by artists from everywhere. Something very unlike PTown where most art galleries are either owned by local artists or display the work of local artists for the most part. While we were visiting, the left section - bigger of the two, had on display many paintings by Cassandra Complex (pics attached). What was really fascinating about these pieces - as the kind gentleman who was managing the gallery explained, was that the artist not only uses the usual methods of painting, brush on canvas - but finishes the work with strokes of paint applied / painted with playing cards. On a canvas that was work in progress right near the entrance, many a playing cards immersed in acrylics of different colors could be seen along with brushes. And the most astounding piece of information about this collection of faces of men in different moods and hence the names of the paintings was that - these were not portraits; as we thought they would be on first look. The artist painted them all with her imagination. Quite remarkable. The other half of the gallery had a good mix of displays from various other artists. The main exhibition in the left half clearly stood out for sure. A must visit. You never know what you may find that would catch your fancy!

My boyfriend and I stopped by this gallery while visiting Provincetown. It's always been one of my…read morefavorites, and he fell in love with it just like I did the first time I was here. Thanassi, the owner of the gallery, goes by that singular name and is a Provincetown bon vivant. He is also the painter and mastermind behind those beautifully tranquil paintings dotting the outside and inside of the gallery space. His depictions of Herring Cove Beach, Long Point Light, and an unmoored dory come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes the dory is floating and sometimes, beached. It is always upright. From reading an interesting interview with the painter, he ultimately wants people to come home, kick back, and look at his paintings until "the feeling of being at the beach comes through." I highly suggest visiting this gallery and experiencing the paintings for yourself. The gallery hours vary slightly during off peak season, which is when we went. But generally, they are open from 11:00-8:00/9:00 pm during the fall months.

Since 1917, this has thankfully not been the case! Neatly placed on the second floor of the Whaler's Wharf Marketplace, Water's Edge Cinema offers two screens "dedicated to raising the disenfranchised voice" in support of the Provincetown Film Society. I was lucky to take part in a group rental of the cinema offered for under $200 during its general closure for the COVID pandemic. The simple opportunity to go out for a movie and popcorn bestowed a hopeful warmth greatly appreciated by participants. Provincetown exists because of adaptability, and Water's Edge Cinema has certainly embodied this as a compact alternative to big chain theaters. The gallery was the perfect setting for the event as the light from the front window cast a nice glow on the model and the breeze from the door made for a pleasent atmoshpere. The owner of the gallery was more than accomodating to the artist as well as to the steady stream of eager buyers. I always make a point to visit this gallery as it has cutting edge paintings and sculptures that are ever changing. The two contrasting styles of Anne and Cynthia 2. The actual building in which the gallery is housed - gorgeous. 3. The size of the pieces displayed. You are forced to get the distance between you and the mostly large paintings, but they always draw you in. 4. The soft-coated Wheaton terrier snoozing at the entrance.

My first experience with Greg was during our maternity photography session done in October 2016…read more This was my first photography session ever and Greg made me feel very comfortable and at ease. He worked with me on however many versions of pictures we wanted on the different backdrops to make sure we had sufficient options. Given that this process can be anxiety inducing I appreciated his demeanor and patience. Greg was also our photographer for our baby shower. He was incredible and made an effort to grab photos of our special event and of all the guests who came from near and far (some from out of the country). This was really important to us. He also did all of this blending in so he was able to get great candids. It was also very nice that we already had a rapport so he already knew what we were looking for. Greg is incredibly skilled, approachable, and kind. I would definitely seek his services in the future and can't strongly recommend him enough.
