What a wonderful store. Now, I have to admit I did not go there. I went to Yelp and then their website and called. I live in LA and the gift I wanted delivered was for a dear friend in Provincetown. He just suffered a loss and I had no desire to buy flowers. The man I spoke to was one of the owners and he was so sweet to me. I am pretty upset over the loss of my friend so I rambled and rambled some more and he was kind and patient. The photos of the store are beautiful and I am sure their prices are reasonable. I bought a super unique windchime with stained glass all in different colors. It was in my price range and he is going to deliver it himself for me today. I don't think he even charged me for delivery. A photo of it is attached. He knew of the couple I was sending the gift to and knew where they lived. It is a small, friendly town. I wish I could recall the name of the owner I spoke to, but I am a tad brain dead today. He was just so sweet. You know, the kind of person you want to hug and be friends with. Go there or order from there. Just call them and they will help you. They have a great selection of gifts and plants and cards. Thank you Botanica. read more

I loved this retail gift shop. Botanical has some very interesting gifts and it does not feel touristy or like a trinket shop. There are a lot of dog gifts and the owners are clearly dog lovers. My furry beast was welcomed and that was appreciated. The guys are very friendly and helped me find a gift that I will value. This is one of our favorite gift stores in Provincetown. The owners are the sweetest couple always ready to answer a question or to explain anything you might have a question about. The focus is on home decor but also things for the garden (indoor or outdoor). Just a pleasure to walk around and shop. Botanica is located in Provincetown's East End.The store has gifts for the home, including vintage items, cards, coasters, mugs with gift boxes and other table-top items by PaperProducts Design, napkins, indoor and outdoor containers for plants, vases, tea light holders, garden accessories, including cast stone garden ornaments from Campania International, indoor furnishings, original art, including oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, reproduction art, a large selection of air plants (tillandsias), aeriums, globes and containers. Botanica features the soaps and fragrances of Inis of Ireland, Pre de Provence, Kala sea salt soap and local company Mangiacotti. The store has the largest selection of beautiful Motawi Tiles on Cape Cod. Botanica has been voted best gift shop on the Outer Cape for eight years in a row by Cape Cod Life Magazine and is open seven days per week April through October with shorter hours in winter months. read more

I came here to do a little shopping for my birthday and it was really hard to decide what I wanted to get for myself. What I love about this store is that they have a lot of animal-themed items. They have a lot of dog things, and I absolutely love that about this shop. I got a cat mug from here as a gift one year and this year I bought myself a table tray for my coffee table that had chipmunks on it that were wearing hats made out of flowers, pinecones, and carrots. It's really cute, and I loved visiting the store the people behind the counter were super helpful. read more

If you're from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Cuba- especially- living in The BX, NYC, BK, QNS- you know that a Botánica is where you buy plants, herbs, candles, saint statues, and oils to create your own concoction to bring good fortune onto you, keep bad energy away, OR- bring those forth onto people you don't want in your life. Understand, this isn't the place to get your products for Santería. I have to admit though, the name grabbed me and at first impression walking by, all I asked myself was, "there's a Botánica in Ptown? People do this here?" Not so fast- because it's not what you think. The two gentlemen who own Botánica sell botanical gifts for the home and range from hardcover books about Hydrangeas and other flowers, they sell these really cute succulents, floral images on cloth hand towels, along with other non-botanical items. They also carry coastal-inspired items like wrought-iron hooks I got. I was really curious and asked the two gentleman if they new what a Botánica is and they had found after the fact when they created their business what the name meant. This was one of the prettiest shops I visited while wandering around Provincetown. Beach themed paintings, ceramic seashells and starfish, and lots and lots of nautical stuffs. My favorite find was a pair of seat blue seahorse salt/pepper shakers. Just adorable. read more

If you're looking for something special to accent your home this is your spot. It's a beautifully maintained store (you feel like you're in a little green oasis) and the owners are helpful without being in the way -- a true art in today's retail industry. I found a delightful mix of home accents that included contemporary designs (Sagaform), traditional seaside decor, candles, stationery, and art. Best of all the prices are very reasonable and the owners are currently running specials if you check in on Yelp. With your purchase (depending on amount) they will also give you a choice of gourmet caramels or specialty tea. Now this is true hospitality and is sure to cultivate good will with townies and tourists alike. read more

We had the most delightful experience shopping at Botanical. The gentlemen who assisted us were so friendly and helpful far beyond just shop information. They suggested many activities and venues that have helped us make our visit to Provincetown a pure joy! They even gave my mom a parent of spare sunglasses when we mentioned she left hers at home. Love! Love! Love! This place. An amazing selection of great souvenirs perfect for a gift that's not tacky. I got my mom an amazing porcelain peice for only 7.50 Bob and Mark the owners are so sweet and have great taste in the items they choose for their store. Found it! Have been searching for 3 years for the perfect Buddha and found it in this wonderful shop on commercial street. I spent over $150 on two visits to this shop. I wanted to return one item because I thought the quality of the item did not justify the price. They refused to accept the return. Saying that because some electronic pricing system they couldn't accept returns without a receipt. They own the shop I am sure they could have done some override Oh well there a lot of other places to shop in Provincetown. read more

Botanical is my new favorite shop in Ptown. I own a place here and know all the shops and this one is by far the most unique in terms of what they have to offer. They have soap bars made locally, air plant of all sizes, real live topiaries that are beautiful, small succulent plants that can liven up your home and will never die, and beautiful glass and ceramic vases. There's something for everyone. It also doesn't hurt that the owners Bob and Mark are the most wonderful guys around. They love to chat with their customers. If you're one of those people who are already thinking of Christmas this is the place to go for gifts for friends and family. They are open year round! Hope to see you there. Cheers read more

Established in 2013.

Botanica's owners, Mark Petteruti and Robert Martin, welcome you to their shop. The shop has items for home and garden as well as art and gifts such as containers, vases, garden accessories and ornaments, indoor furnishings, art tile, hand-blown glass art, stained glass art, original watercolor, oil, and acrylic art, giclees, live plants, tillandsias, soaps, sprays, fragrances, gourmet food and more. We carry Sara Beth’s, HomArt, Campania International, Two's Company, Madison Bay, Root Candles, Cape Cod Soy Candles, Motawi Tiles, Paper Products Design, Inis Ireland Fragrances, Pre de Provence Soaps, Kala Soap, Treese Soapery, Screencraft, and more. We currently feature the original art of Derek Macara, Stephen Lilley, Frank Luchino, Larry Decker and Lynn Bikofsky. We carry reproduction art by Michael Lyons, Jeff Krehely, Scott Simmons, and Jeff Hitchcock.

Meet the Business Owner: Mark P.

Mark has a degree in horticulture from the University of Rhode Island and operated a business in Pennsylvania for nearly 20 years before bringing his talents to Provincetown. Robert has a law degree and practiced law in Philadelphia for 25 years before bringing his talents to Provincetown. Botanica is entering its third year in 2015 with lots of new products.

Ultimately I was thrilled that I stepped foot in Yates & Kennedy and I will think of that store fondly each time I gaze upon my gorgeous pillow while at home. He gave me time to peruse each side of the rotating case and as soon as I looked over at him he came rushing to help me pick out what I wanted to see. He gave me time to fiddle around with each piece - going around to help other customers - while I stood in front of the mirror (he had pointed out to me) trying to decide which ones I wanted. I settled on three stunning belly rings and took them to the counter. He finished helping the customer who was ahead of me quickly and got her checked out and then immediately went into his drawers of goodies for the exact pieces I picked out. He was very quick about it and put them all in individual baggies and then into a nice little box. For three beautiful, stainless steel belly rings I paid around $80 after tax. And I am genuinely not mad about that price because after a week of continuous, daily wear for just one of the rings I can say the quality is worth it. No allergic reactions, it's sturdy with no signs of breaking easily or at all, and it still looks as shiny as when I first put it in. Honestly, the selection for naval rings there is phenomenal and so was the customer service. I will definitely be back the next time I take a trip up to see my family.

The boutique itself is a little dark and mysterious, but it is full of unique, beautiful pieces. The unique platters, dinnerware, and drinkware that caught my eye were the astier de villatte pieces. They were simple and white yet truly gorgeous. Sadly they are completely out of my budget. I would have loved to be able to buy a couple of pieces to use on our dinner table, but it truly is not feasible for us when you add up the cost of place setting. I highly suggest making your off of Commercial, down the alley and finding yourself in John Derain. If for no other reason than to take in all the beautiful works.

I was in this store and witnessed a bizarre interaction with the owner and another customer who was just testing out the candles and air fresheners on display. He yelled at the man as if he was a small child destroying his wares! The man was not destroying or breaking any merchandise - after all, when one shops...we as customers need to inspect if the merchandise is damaged or is in the correct packaging before purchasing products. I was shocked as the owner's behavior escalated into a full-blown rage towards this customer. I then left the store and was walking down the steps towards the parking lot when I saw the owner run down the lawn after the man while yelling and screaming, dropping the F bomb at this man, approaching his car in a very aggressive manner to see where the man came from... stating that he was from Florida & to "go back to Florida!" This man who owns the store obviously has some anger issues and is mentally unstable. I have read previous reviews from people that had the same experience with this shop owner...If this man cannot handle "out-of-towners," then maybe he should retire. If it weren't for seasonal visitors, your local business would not survive. I was only in that store for 10 minutes and that was enough for me. There are many other stationary stores in the world with more professional customer service!! Definitely do not waste your time and stop by this business. This guy is bat shit crazy!!!!

It's a great gift shop, featuring "costume jewelry" (I hate that term, but it's not gold & diamonds), but also with beautiful silk lampshades ( I've bought many over the years for my B&B inn Boston), art glass, mirrors, hair accessories (the only "clips" I've found that hold my long hair up without tearing it), little cute boxes, figurines, etc. I've been shopping there for years and I have never walked out without a bag in hand! The buyers are exceptional and always seem to choose a wonderful variety of economic to high end goods. The art glass & shiny crystal earrings are my personal faves, but there's so much to look at! Happy shopping!
