The husband deals with the numbers, while the wife is the creative mind and buyer of all the one of a kind interesting gifts displayed in the store. This store has so many categories of gifts that it would be impossible to mention them all in this review, but take a look of the photographs accompanying the review and you will be able to get an idea of them all. After all, it is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Two of the main categories are Chocolates and Ice Cream. I went there today to purchase a box of hand picked chocolates which I myself selected and one of the friendly employees arranged very neatly inside the box. They wrap everything so nicely that any of the items here can be bought and given as a gift to someone close. While the young man went to answer the phone, the young lady answers my question of if they still had the large cookie sandwiches that a good friend of mine and I bought last time I was here. She answers me in the affirmative and takes out a pan full of them with a transparent wrap covering them up. These things are not cheap but the taste is priceless. I ordered a couple of cookie sandwiches: one with dark chocolate and one with white chocolate. She nicely wrapped them and put them in a nice box bag with handles. I highly recommend this place when you're in the mood for something sweet or would like to buy something sweet as a gift for someone or bring something as a gift to a dinner invitation. As you well know "Frozen Custard is more creamy and flavorful on the palate since it's not as cold as ice cream. It also has a higher content of egg yolks and butter fat". For ten years she has been sharing this information with her customers, who she also considers as friends, through her amazingly delicious Frozen Custard. When we arrived to the trailer on a bright and windy sunny day, Keller quickly opened the window of the trailer and welcomed us with a warm greeting and a big smile. You could immediately tell that she was a people person and had a delightful personality. She genuinely enjoyed talking with us about her business. The business has also provided a means of her spending time with her twins - daughter Jordan and son, Noah - who have both joined her in the stand, as well as some of their friends. This and the people she interacts with daily have been one of the best things about having the custard stand. On the side of the trailer, she has posted several sheets of menus with an amazing variety of ways we can order her frozen custard. Since it was our first time there we both ordered a Vanilla Chocolate Twist in a Large Waffle Cone. Since it was extremely windy and somewhat cold, we ate the custards standing up next to the trailer. They we amazingly delicious: very soft and creamy. We looked forward to returning when the weather gets nicer and have another custard with more things on it, sitting at one of the tables with umbrellas provided in the area. The nuts and berries salad was the better of the two dishes. The salad itself was fresh and enjoyable, but the raspberry vinaigrette was very oily. Since the oil had separated and was sitting on the side, we had to discard the excess oil before adding the dressing to the salad. After removing the extra oil, the salad tasted much better. The roast chicken sandwich was underwhelming. The chicken pieces were thick, and there was very little sauce, which made the sandwich dry overall. With a better sauce-to-chicken balance, it could have been much more enjoyable. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was disappointing for the price. When we walked in, we noticed a musty smell, which immediately affected the experience. The water also did not seem filtered, and the poor water quality was noticeable in the taste. Considering that lunch at Montana's can cost more than $40, I expected better attention to basic details like the restaurant's smell, water quality, and food preparation. Overall, the experience was okay at best, but disappointing for the price.

Located in the Oak Grove Plaza Shopping Center, right next to the popular restaurants Wildwood Smokehouse and Highlander Pizza, Sips and Scoops Ice Cream is a clean and cozy little Ice Cream Shop that serves over 30 flavors of Homestead Ice Cream with over 15 toppings. This time a young lady was my server and she also was very friendly and welcoming and provided excellent customer service. While I was there the Ice Cream Delivery truck came by and delivered a large amount of a great variety of flavors. So now they even have more flavors of freshly made Ice cream. I probably spent about 20 minutes here. The ambiance was interesting and felt like a 60's diner. There wasn't much going on at the time, but it was good to be here to be shopping for ice cream. There was a large selection of ice cream that was scratched onto the board in the store. Plenty of flavors but I ended up getting Oreo and chocolate, which was quite heavenly. The restaurant itself was small but clean. Like a 60's diner that kept things true to form. The service was quick and simple while being typical and friendly. I definitely enjoyed and would recommend coming here if you enjoy authentic ice cream in the Roanoke area. For the most part though, the experience here was uneventful. It would be cool if my travels permit me to return here in the future. But for now, I was glad to have come here and experienced the ice cream.
