Mark came out to our home in Buellton to repair a roof leak and fix some broken rain gutters. He was prompt and courteous and the price was very fair. I would definitely call A to Z Roofing for any future roofing or rain gutter issues. As a side note, it is also worth mentioning he is licensed and fully insured. This is so important when hiring a contractor, especially a roofer because of the potential risk of injury. You may get a cheaper quote from an unlicensed roofer (because they are probably not paying for Workers Comp Insurance) but you will be on the hook for medical bills and lost wages if one of the workers falls off your roof. We tried to balance our choice between the best quote, the recommendations of contractors we trust who our business serves and who appeared to be the easiest to work with. Ralph came out right away to inspect the roof, and prepared a written estimate that wasn't as deeply detailed or as slick as others, but his price was highly competitive and his estimated date of starting was months sooner than the much bigger firms we received quotes from. We checked out his license and whether or not he had any complaints and went to a few reference houses he provided us with. They all looked great and the customers spoke very positively about his work and reliability. It was roughly a month and a half from the time we signed the contract and when he and his crew started and we knew from the first day we had made a good choice. After the tear off of the old roof, there was literally not a single scrap of old roof anywhere on our property. At the end of every day, he and his crew cleaned up the entire property to the point where we couldn't tell anyone had been there. The day the shingles, underlayment, fascia boards, vents, etc. arrived, we were home to see the brand names and quality of materials being used. It was all the same quality as others had stated in their quotes, so we felt very comfortable knowing that his better pricing was based on him actually being part of the crew to do the work and not on skimping on materials some way.
