INCREDIBLY INEPT!!! DO NOT GO HERE!…read more Dropped my truck off for a new windshield which was covered by insurance. I had also asked to have the rear window looked at since a previous replacement left a gap in the sealant which noise and air were coming in. I even suggested that I had a replacement window if they had to remove it and install a new one. I also said that I was willing to pay for the repairs if necessary. When I picked up my truck, the front desk said that the technician test drove the truck and said, "The noise is no more than road noise and is no big deal." I asked if the tech drove it with the windows down which is when a lot of air comes in from the rear window. He did not. Got in my truck, found tools left on the console. Brought them back in and drove off. There was a loud tapping noise on the roof and when I pulled over, there were several pieces of duct tape stuck to the roof. Nobody uses duct tape for windshield repairs and if they do, they should be fired. But wait...it gets worse! Got a call from the front desk the next day saying that the tech forgot to put my antenna back on. I was out of town so I had my wife go pick it up. When she arrived, the front desk said that the tech said the noise in my truck is from the headache rack. Which is it? Road noise or headache rack? How about the lack of sealant which is what I know to be the issue. Then, the front desk girl asked my wife if she wanted the antenna. What in the actual F ? Of course she wanted the antenna. That's why she went in! I then wrote a letter to the owner describing my experience and dissatisfaction. I got a voice mail back. I called a few days later since I was again out of town for work. Apparently, the owner is the technician whom did the work. His name is Brandon. He then proceeded to tell me that the noise is coming from the cab vents. So first it was road noise, then headache rack, then cab vents. Wow. Talk about making excuses for the inability do do a simple repair. When owner Brandon got on the phone with me, the first thing out of his mouth should have been, "Bring it down so we can look at it and make it right." Nowhere in our conversation did he offer to make it right. I gave him plenty of time to do so but all he did was make excuses for his lack of knowledge. I would surmise that his IQ is in the single digits. His only reply was, "We are doing the best we can." Well if that is your best, I'd hate to see your worst. This is by far one of the worst automotive shop experiences I've had in my 40 years of driving, dealing with dozens of service businesses, doing my own repairs, and owning several service businesses in a few states. If you are smart, stay away from this business.

After calling around and finding out that the VW glass would be tough to find, I called California Auto Image. They gave me an estmated range over the phine and asked i bring it down for a firm quote. Not only was the quote less than expected but they were able to source the glass and have it with-in 2 days. 2 days later, I took the car back. 90 minutes later, job done, all broken glass gone and the car was back in good shape. The last time this happened it took 4 days to get the same glass when it happened to me in the central valley. Thank you to California Auto Image for fantastic care of me while i was over 400 miles from home and a long ways from a VW dealer....

Most sai they either didn't have the equipment or weren't interested in helping us until Monday. California Auto Image was brusque, to put it mildly. When we called on Friday, we were told to call back Saturday after 10 AM - Maybe they would help. We did call back. After realizing how limited our options were (I'm sure the shop knew this as well) we were told the fee would be $1600 to tow us 46 miles to Crescent City. I believe "extortion" is the appropriate term for this. The driver was very competent and nice enough, but the owner should be ashamed for taking advantage in this way.
