Driving through Crater Lake National Park, a foreign tourist in a rented RV (yikes!), demolished our driver's side mirror. There are few things in life I dread as much as auto repair, but these guys made it remarkably painless. They worked with our insurance company, made sure they had the right part by the time we got there the next morning, and took care of it while we waited. The job was done fast and very well. They even gave us cokes in glass bottles and had a shady fenced yard for our dog to play in while they worked. Wow, that's some real customer service. I would like to start off by saying I am a picky person when it comes to my truck. I have been going to Ron's auto shop twice in the last two years and he does a great job. I have also been to another auto shop that was suppose to be good and pay attention to detail, but had the worst experience. I will never go anywhere else but Ron's auto shop. They gave me same color of paint no charge, offered to takeout some scratches for no charge and helped me fix my bumper no charge. This place is what every auto body shop should strive for in Bend. Requiring appointments to perform estimates is reasonable if the car needs to be put on a rack or there's so much damage that it will take a while. For a small job, it gives the perception to the customer that you are too busy for anything less than a big ticket repair. That seemed even more apparent when your estimate was 40-60% higher than the others'. If you have a small job, be aware that you may spend a lot of time and effort just to get an unreasonably high quote. read more

Some young kid with an attitude gave me horrible customer service. To the point where it made me me feel like a sub citizen. Before he even gave me a quote he told me, he couldn't help me because I have an interlock device in my vehicle. I offered to pay more for the inconvenience, and since I needed such minor repairs, a hinge alignment in one door. It seemed ridiculous to me that he wouldn't even look at it, or hear me out. He was just a young kid with an attitude trying to flex on me. Thanks for nothing Ron. I went down the street to Advanced Auto Body and the old guy there was really nice. He took a look at my hinge and had my door fixed in about 10 minutes! The absolute opposite experience I had at Ron's Auto Body. Take your business to Advanced Auto Body. Ron and the gang are a joke. I recently took my car to this place to have some body damage fixed after being rear-ended. They did a decent job with my car. The front staff are friendly, and they worked with the insurance company to ensure that they would covered the repairs. If you need to rent a car while your car is being repaired, they'll work with the near by Enterprise car rental location and give you a ride there. That made the whole process really smooth. Fantastic body shop! They are a fair and friendly place to have your vehicle fixed. When ever I have called for a friend that was in an accident, the first thing they ask is if everyone is ok and safe. When they ask, it is not a question just to ask. I had the extreme misfortune of needing body repair done twice this winter. It says a lot, then, that I actually LOOKED FORWARD to the opportunity of seeing the wonderful people at Ron's again. The girls at the front desk are simply fantastic; sweet, helpful, jovial. The estimates are quick and efficient and always a fair price. Their work has a lifetime guarantee. They work with insurance companies and can schedule a pick up from the nearby Enterprise. Something I really appreciate is that they vacuumed my car out and Armoralled the dash when they were finished. That kind of extra touch really buys my loyalty. A few months after I had my car fixed at Ron's, I took it in to my regular mechanic to find out why my AC was making a horrible grinding sound. Turns out, someone had put too much freon in the tank and it was shorting out the AC. Knowing that I had never had any work done to the AC since I'd purchased the car, I realized it must have happened when I had the body repair done at Ron's. I couldn't find anything on my receipt about the AC being touched, but I went in and ask the manager at Ron's if it might have happened when they had my car in the shop. No questions asked, he said, "Bring your repair receipt in and we will reimburse you." Sure enough, they cut me a check for $119 the next time I showed up. I was pregnant while I was having the repairs done, and the front desk ladies were adamant that I bring my baby in to meet them after she was born. And you know what? I have. Twice! When Ron and Linda owned this business they were TOP notch with the best reputation in town! I took my car in on a Monday for some front end damage they told me it would be ready on Thursday morning and that I would be getting a call from them. I took the initative to call them at 9:30am asking when my car would be ready...the office gal said she didn't know but would find out and get right back to my. I waited until 2:30pm that day with still no word so again I called back after being placed on hold a number of minutes she said I could pick it up at 4:30...I said that I would rather pick it up the next morning-no probem she said. OK, So I arrive and pay them cash ($208.40) for the extra work that I had set up several weeks prior. I walked around the car and the only thing that was done was the front end damage and NOT any of the extras I paid for. So, I take it back and told them I didn't see where they had installed the splash guards or any of the other touch ups that were discussed earlier. (They did however put a smidgeon of paint on my rear bumper in one place) The guy tells me that the splash guards weren't in stock and that he had no idea why the other work wasn't completed. Hey, how about a call prior saying that they were not able to put them on? They offered to take care of it no problem-I said all I wanted was a refund. So the gal opens the envelope of cash that I had given her earlier and hands it to me without a word of I am sorry or any explaination. I will not recommend them or go back-too bad their communication between fellow employees is so poor. read more

These guys are top notch. Let's just get that out there. I closed the garage door on my brand new car. Yes, it happens. I took it to the dealer and after 3 hours waiting for an estimate, they wanted a crazy amount of money to repair a seemingly small scratch. Today I popped by Ron's Auto Body since there you don't need an appointment. The ladies in the office are incredibly nice and made me feel right at home. Jeremy was ready to take a look at the bumper before I could even finish a peppermint candy. Upon inspection, he told me he didn't think it was worth it to fix it. His estimate was about on par with the dealership. He did, however, go above and beyond the call of duty. He ran in the shop, came back with a little cleaner and removed a big portion of the scratch that was actually just dirt. He also came back with a brand new license place cover at no charge since the garage door ate that too. He said he could take my money but he wouldn't feel good about it. I really appreciate that in a service provider. Especially one who isn't currently getting my business. If I close the garage door on my car again, I will definitely bring it to Ron's Auto Body Shop. read more

I had an issue with scratches on the front bumper of our leased Prius. I was given an estimate with no appointment and everyone in the process was super friendly and professional. I was given the option of trying to buff it out or do a full repair. To make a long story short, the buff worked perfectly and was done in very short order. I was in an accident in January of 2011. The vehicle has damage to the drivers side. Rons took 10 days longer than they estimated and missed several items. I had to have the rear window and windshield reset. They also missed the tranmission damage which cost me another $1750 (unpaid by insurance). My vehicle the brakes being worked on and the shop has told me that I have a bent rear axel. Thanks Rons!! Your incompetance is going to cost me more money. read more

THEY HAVE ME MY CAR BACK WITH NO GAS- made it one mile and ran out. PISSED!!! My car was in the shop for over 2 months from an accident caused by the other vehicle. I was told at least 3 times it would be ready on a certain date only to find out there was another delay. Very poor communication with me as to the status. Very disappointed and wouldn't recommend it. Too bad it's where's insurance decided to have it repaired. Overall bad experience, however the employees were very nice. read more

I drove to Bend to take my car to Ron's for someone to take a look at a scape on my bumper. They had previously done a terrific job fixing my door that was lightly damaged by someone who allowed the wind to catch their door swinging it open and it hit my door when the car was parked at Lowes. Initially, I was going to be turned away by the front desk clerk because I had not made an appointment, mainly because I didn't know it would be required. James Hansen heard the conversation and stepped in to assist me. Not only did he go with me to take a look at the car, but he took the car back to the back and buffed out the paint/residue that was on the bumper from the post I scraped. Took him about 5 minutes and when he was done, I could barely tell there was a scrap at all. In my view, this went far above and beyond and James' willingness to help me out further instills my confidence and thanks for their superior service. Thank you, James!! read more
