Stebbins Auto Repair

Look no further---last auto repair shop you will ever need…read more This year, amidst a pandemic no less, Stebbins met all of my automotive needs that cropped up, minimized expenses for me whenever possible, and delivered excellent care. Having performed a variety of services for me, big and small, from a full brake job and electrical work, to oil changes and tire checks (on my car and my motorcycle), I couldn't have found a better place to bring my vehicle. I am so thankful to have discovered a local shop that I can trust, that does competent work, and goes the extra mile. The owner, Will Stebbins, truly goes out of his way for his customers, and has made a lifelong customer---and friend incidentally---out of me. He and his staff are courteous, diligent, and knowledgeable, as well as proficient at what they do. You will not regret trusting their expertise for your needs. As I said--look no further. Highly recommend!

This review comes from a Texas parent with great gratitude and appreciation for this wonderful…read morebusiness. Our son is attending college near Southbridge and was experiencing an oil leak on his Jetta. Our son did some research and found himself at Stebbins. He was greeted with professionalism and kindness from Frankie who then referred him to Will to look at his car. After looking at the car extensively he showed our son the possible problems with the issue. Since our son is unfamiliar with automotive repair he reached out to us to let us know that the car would need repair. Since we are 3,000 miles away we called Stebbins. Will graciously took extensive time to explain to us what he found in his troubleshooting and assured us he would take good care of our son and if there were any issues he would take his time to ensure our son was safe and all was repaired efficiently and affordable. They took excellent care of the car and our son and continue to help our son with all his automotive needs. Frankie has also gone above and beyond to educate us "Texans" on how our son's car can run safely in extreme snow/icy weather. This business is top notch and trustworthy. We are very thankful for their service and support.

We LOVE John's Auto!…read more My wife and I had an engine issue while we were on the highway and were able to make it to this safe haven of assistance! Jason was extremely kind, ran the codes to diagnose our issue, and provided us with a full report, including potential options we could take -- all within 10 minutes and without charging us a single cent! He closed up shop while we were sitting in the parking lot waiting for a tow to take us to a dealership, and before leaving, he stopped by our car to double check we were okay before he left for the night. What a gentleman! Our experience couldn't have been better! If you ever have a need with your car, I highly recommend John's Auto Service!

They are prompt, courteous, and troubleshoot problems, to find solutions, in a most expeditious manner. Even more impressive is their honesty, they are quick to tell you if your automobile is in fine working order. I took my car in today, with photos to show the leaking coolant I found on my garage floor. After taking the time to thoroughly check all pipes, fittings, etc. and some discussion (detective work) we realized that it was the second car in the garage that likely had a leak. They would not take a penny for the work they did to set my mind at ease. I highly recommend John's Auto in Charlton!

First 30 miles of a 700 mile road trip and the tps lights up. Roofing nail in the right rear tire…read more Anyone notice the increase in road debris in Massachusetts...hmmm...budget cuts? Anyway a major local tire center told us they couldn't fix the hole but directed us to Main Street Auto. Like a nascar pit crew the mechanic had the nail out and plug in....fingers crossed. You could not ask for more responsive service. Cash is king. Extra Tip for speed!!

I have been going here for years for basic maintenance, but after my last visit, I won't be going…read moreback ever again. I had four snow tires on rims swapped out with four summer tires, also on rims, and they also topped up the tire pressure. The next day, I noticed a warning light for low tire pressure, but didn't think much of it b/c the tire pressure monitors sometimes get fluky after a tire change. A couple of days later, I got a dashboard warning "TIRE NEEDS AIR NOW." When I went to fill the tire in question though, the valve was bent and half broken. So after the holiday weekend, I was able to limp back to the shop with the nearly flat tire, told the supervisor guy what happened and got the valve replaced. Unfortunately, I did not have the receipt for the original work when the valve got broken, so I went back the next day with the receipt. I was stunned when they refused to take responsibility for the cracked valve, although I explained to the guy in charge that they had been the last folks to touch the valve before I discovered that it was broken. He was dismissive, told me I should have brought it back sooner, claimed the tire couldn't possibly have held any air for a week, and insinuated that I had somehow broken the valve, essentially calling me a liar. I'm pissed. As I said, I had been taking my car there for years, BUT THIS IS NO WAY TO RUN AN HONEST BUSINESS. It cost me $124 because they refused to admit their screwup and sought to blame me instead. Anyone want to be next?

Recently recognized for the Local community choice award winner for Best of Central Ma!!! Congrats…read moreScott!! Such a harder working awesome guy!! I, as well as my Husband have been going to Five Star Automotive for years. I fully trust Scott's work. He is one of very few honest to goodness business owners who can be trusted. He does good business and has a great team working for him. His competitive pricing is amazing too! I never have to worry about my vehicles I have taken to him. He has helped us out so many times. He's got a great big heart. We're the average poor family these days with kids and he has given us breaks because had we gone anywhere else we would have been paying a heck of a lot more. He does great things for people and our community. I am forever grateful for him. I don't ever want to take any vehicle I own to anyone else. What Scott says is 100% trusted and there is no better place! He's a busy guy and it can take a while to get in for service. But often times I will drop my vehicle off on a Sunday night and be ready to come get it a day or two later. And that's quite alright with me!! They have been really good to us. All great people. Friendly and I swear I could give them all a hug. We tell everyone we see to go to Scott. It's not just about business for Scott, he gives his all and he cares about people. It truly is a fantastic business! You must go to 5 star! We love them!!!
