I have been getting my hair cut and beard trim at Ronny's, usually when my hair is way overdue. The barbers are friendly and patient. I have never had anything less than an excellent haircut and beard trim. It is cash only and they have an ATM for those who need it. Parking may be a bit tight, but I've always found a spot. I went here for a haircut only and was in and out in under 30 minutes. They charged me $40 and told me it was cash only. Meanwhile, the guy getting his hair cut across from me was only charged $30. How can a barber shop have two different rates for the same service? This probably explains why I didn't see any prices listed on the wall. Although I was satisfied with my cut, had I known they were going to charge me even $30, I would have taken my business elsewhere. Maybe for that amount of money somewhere else, I at least might have been offered a shampooing or styling. read more

1st visit. Covid stuff they are following everything and staying safe. place felt safe and was clean. Cash only just so you know. Also bring extra for a tip trust me they are amazing and you will want to give one. Cut was killer! happy to have a real haircut. it's been to long. i walked in feeling like one of the monkeys with to much hair and left feeling like I was on the cover of a Magazine! Staff was friendly and open to hear me. Great conversation. Also happy to see a great interaction with some young boys come in with parents. They are great with kids for sure. Well, I've been trying to find a spot to get my hair cut in Eagle River other than the Great Clips at the Fred Meyers. I decided to give Ronny's a try today. The pros first: I walked right in and had a seat in the chair. The barber, Ben I think was his name, was pleasant and ready to take care of me. He took his time and gave me a pretty good cut. We chatted some but not too much. They did have three TVs going with sports related programming so that was a plus as well. The place was clean and inviting. Now the con: price. While not the end of the world, $35 for a simple military cut is pretty steep. I guess this is the price you pay for a small business shop, I'm not sure. Seems like this price is up there with the higher end salon types, not sure how I feel about paying that much every two weeks for a cut. Then again, maybe it's worth it. read more

It had been a while since I have had a haircut, I was also trying to keep growing it out and really just wanted it cleaned up. Unfortunately I'm writing this review a little late so I can't remember the younger gentleman's name who cut my hair but he did a fantastic job, it looked really good afterwards. My son comes to Ronnys n his (challenging-to-shape) hair always looks , so he recommended them for my mohawk bcz most salons over-"shape", over-style it and its always uneven. Ronny took a while to cut my husband's hair and made it look really good. He has hard to cut hair and a lot of cowlicks. He came out with his hair laying down and smelling really nice. We had a horrible experience here. I had never been to a Barber shop before and took my son for an appointment. When I made the appointment I let them know that this was the first time that we would be coming to a barbershop. Usually, when we go to the salon, they ask what numbers to use on the sides of his hair, so when they asked him at the barbershop what numbers, he told them four and three. The guy kind of smirked shook his head and proceeded to shave my sons hair off. At that point it was too late. I let them know during and after the appointment that I did not want to pay for it and it was absolutely not what we wanted. It would not have been so bad if they would have seemed the least bit sorry but instead, the owner just wanted to yell at me. I would never go back here. Ever. read more

The barber even suggested a better route for the haircut I wanted, not many places gives suggestions to begin with so it was pretty cool that they did. Haircuts are good but the service is inconsistent. I've been to this place at least 5 times so I tried to give them a shot but after my last visit, I said no more. I'd call and book for Ronnie but get pawned off to whoever was there. That has happened most of the time. Out of 5 haircuts, Ronnie cut my hair twice. That's super annoying because I request him and when I get there he seems put off or just says he has another appointment coming, then sits there for 20 mins. I've been coming here ever since I moved to Anchorage in April 2018. I was intrigued due to other reviews and haven't been disappointed myself. I only get beard trims (I shave my head) but the work is meticulous and better than any place I've been before. The shop is clean and neat and plenty of tv's for your viewing pleasure, so I don't mind waiting if I have to. I always just walk in mid week but they take appointments. First time in there today and will being going back best barbershop I've found in Anchorage.

Basically I asked my boyfriend how many stars I should give them. When he asked how many I could his response was "give them 10". The wait time is really not that bad at all, I think we waited around maybe 15 minutes. And we showed up in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday as a walk in. He absolutely loves the work they did to him and I very much appreciate not having to nag him for over a month to get his hair cut... or at least holding off until I start again. read more

probably the worst haircut I've ever had. When my wife saw me she didn't know whether to laugh or cry. " what on earth have they done to you?"Even people at work commented that my haircut was a bit weird. I previously had a haircut from the Albanian guy, which was quite good. I won't mention the name of the person who cut my hair this time, but I can't believe the lady has had any formal training. This haircut is a total embarrassment. I see that the lady "stylist" gets mentioned in negative reviews elsewhere. I hear that the guy who owns the place does give good haircuts, to be fair to this business.
